One thing I love about this version is you can much more clearly hear Luke's vocal bursts of furious anger as he fights Vader. You can feel the seething rage he puts into every single lightsaber blow, making every clash feel that much more visceral. Mark Hamill did an absolutely stellar job at portraying a (albeit temporary) fall to the dark side through anger.

"I am a Jedi. Like my father before me." I didn't really know my dad growing up either. But I know he had a rough life and made alot of mistakes. And the irony is that Vader is the good and Luke is the evil. Not deeply, of course, but still enough. Vader was just waiting for Luke to bring him back since Empire, and Luke went to the Dark Side to do it ; and it is in my opinion why Luke is a more powerful Jedi than Anakin, and will ever be the most powerful : he uses the darkest aspect of the life (DS of the Force) to make more brighter the good side. That is a personal interpretation, and that exactly is why I think this is a top 3 SW Scene, along with Binary Sunset and Yoda and the Force to, me.

Simply the best. Nothing can ever top it. Even though I was born in 94 and the prequels came out throughout my childhood, this is the mountain top for me. Luke is the best. His bravery, character and morality has inspired me since childhood. Obviously I don’t count what happened in the prequels because it seems like the antithesis of his character and also undoes Anakin’s character arc entirely. But this scene is it for me man. The ultimate fuck you to the Sith. Luke will always be the best.

The way the Emperor laughs after Luke cuts off Vader's hand. Evil is always there watching, waiting for a chance to rise.

I don’t see a choir. How’d they do the emperors theme?
They have a synth triggering samples of a male chorus. It kind of sucks.
The dark side is a pathway to things many consider to be unnatural.
