Hey guys! The table has a glass top so it won’t stain the wood table - it’s fully protected❤ I’ve put some tissue paper under the saucer too.

You can place a plastic insert into the bottom plate so you can water from the bottom it's the best way to water plants. I am "Happy Plantings" this is what I do with all my plants.

Hi luke, Love the table, it's perfect!
Loving the look of the terracotta plant on the table. Do bear in mind that terracotta is porous. No issue when it is on glass, but on wood or on the floor, especially on a carpet, the terracotta can cause mayhem in the form of rotting carpet or wood! It needs something between it and the surface it is on. Tip from a friend’s gruesome experience! Thank you for the video.

Terracotta is porus, you need to get either a glazed one or a pretty china bowl would be lovely too, much nicer than plastic ones. Your table is gorgeous 🇮🇪❤

Ferns love to be lightly sprayed with water. Plant them in larger pots as they love to have room. Also buy a water feeder so they use what they need, over watering is mainly the death toll for ferns. 👍💗

I love that table. It’s gorgeous. Maggie is adorable. I think you work extremely hard Luke. Cooking, cleaning, house maintenance, so much thought goes into everything thing you do and purchase. Vlogging is a lot of work. And you are an expert at it. Yes, your home is just so cozy and full of warmth from you and Zara and Maggie.
Love the new curtains, table, and fern, they make it look so cosy.
Have you thought about adding frosted film to the bottom panes of your window? It would give you privacy and still let the light come through and you could still see out the window when you stand up.
Ah you are so lucky to live in a Corbett house!! My parents have one and I love the period features, those big edwardian bay windows are such light givers!!

luke you ought to get some baize stickers and put them on the bottom of your plant saucer because the glass will scratch easily plus ferns look so good on fairly shallow round bowls with rounded bottoms but love both plant a nd table xxxx

Beautiful table. A bargain. A glazed plate under the fern will protect against water leaching out through the unglazed saucer.

i would place something under the pot to save the table top
You will need to seal the plant saucer if it is not already done. Water will leach through and damage table. It should have shinny.
Exactly- terracotta pots and saucers are a beautifully natural material. Plants do well in them because they are porous but the water will find it’s way through.

The table you bought is a wine table if you didn’t know thats why its the perfect height to pop your wine glass down ! On the plant front you should invest in an aspidistra to be in keeping with the age of your home perfect for the hall way and so easy to keep it will grow with you !
Love the table. I don't think we have antique markets like this in NI, I would love it. The Deceived is a great show. That actor is in loads of things. He's that new one on Netflix with Michelle Keegan, minus his beard. He's in the series Kin on BBC which is great too. Have a great Sunday 🤎

The panels add so much warmth to the room! Take the fern into the shower with you every few days, place it in the corner for mist and some watering when needed. I am keeping a Maidenhair fern alive in our home and I treat it like my baby. 🪴

Luke you need some lace or voile curtains to go behind the living room curtains so that you can have light but privacy when you open the main curtains during the day. The extra layer also helps trap warm air so it's that little bit more insulation. Your fern should do well on that table, I've got a Boston fern in a similar position, to the side of a window that gets lots of light but not sitting directly in the window - I call it Sideshow Bob because it's thriving so much it looks like the Simpsons character's hair. Just to be careful because the terracotta saucer you've got for under the pot will be porous so there is a chance of moisture underneath but if you apply a clear-coat to the bottom it won't be a problem. You should be ok because the the table has the glass top but if you want to be extra safe.

The cutlery is lovely but they look like they're silver and could do with a good polish with some silver cleaner.

Think they might be past the point of no return to bring the silver back, wonder if they were silver plate and the plate has been polished off🤔 They look lovely with their gold tone though, can see why Luke was attracted to them ☺

Hello from Spain. In my area we don't have very low temperatures but this morning it was 1 degree. Your video comes in at 9 am local time, I always watch your video and Mr Carrington's one while having breakfast. I call it my Sunday morning ritual. I make myself a great breakfast and start to have it exactly at 9 am when the videos come in. I will not get up from the table until I've watched both videos. I spotted some little ceramic animal figures 🐈 that Mr Carrington would like. At least I know I would!

Morning Luke , I cook curry a lot and get the spices,cumin ,turmeric,and curry madras from an Asian supermarket. They are in reseal bags medium sized and about the same price as those tiny glass ones . Love your updates ❤
I love the table and that is the perfect place for it! Things are getting cozier with each video. I wish that one painting wasn't so expensive because it was beautiful and a perfect size for over the couch. But definitely, practical repairs, etc. take precedence!

Really like the table and plant , all looks very cosy . If you want to clean the cutlery . Put some water in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate soda and bring to the boil . Scrunchie up some tinfoil into a ball add that to the saucepan along with the cutlery . Simmer for about 10 mins or so or until cutlery shiny . You’ll be amazed how well it works 😊. I think Maggie was smiling after her walk ❤.
Hi Luke lovely video so pleased you found a table. Just a tip noticed when repotting fern you used outdoor compost big mistake you need indoor compost if not you will be over run with tiny black flys from the outdoor stuff sorry had to tell you another tip for you keep the videos coming love to see young folk doing well 🤗😉
Luke, it also helps if you put the old plant pot inside the new one. Pack in indoor compost between the pots, take the old one out and then pop your plant in. Gently firm compost around plant and top up compost if necessary. Not so messy a method and thanks to Monty Don!

Love that table luke and i notice someone else has commented on terracotta being absorbent you cant get glazed ones so hopefully it wont damage the table or glass.

Ferns are woodland plants . You may need a different soil they like shad or dark places
Pop a couple of them in a shady place in the ground in the garden and they will spread .then you can dig a few up and pop them in pots
Hi Luke loved this blog . I highly recommend UA-cam Rural refurb, she lives in Sussex . She has furnished her house from buying beautiful furniture and antiques at a low price , she also explains how to buy at auction . She does charity shops and thrift store . I think she may have been a dealer back in the day . What she did with a job lot of huge cheese boards is amazing . She also up-cycle and shows you how to to it.
I watch Rural refurb as well. She is awesome. Her home is beautiful. Love how she diy’s everything. ❤
