Luke, this was such a sweet touching video. I am 48 and lost my father one year ago this coming March. It has really humbled me about the time we have on this earth to spend with those we hold dear. It has also taught me to let go of things that are negative, and cherish any and all time I have with my loved ones. I have always choked up over saying goodbye, and even now more so. Thank you for sharing this lovely video of the special relationship you have with your Mom. Take care and God Bless you all. 💙

I know what you mean about time travel…The last time I was in York was with my mam, she’d just been diagnosed with lung and bone cancer.. we had a lovely day but watching this was bittersweet. It is 4 years next week since we lost her. Hold on to those memories and make the most of being with your mam.. ( from Hamsterley Forest village )♥️♥️Ps my favourite music is classical I listen to Classic FM

I have travelled all over the world and I would say York will always have a soft spot in my heart. It is safe, clean, a mix of history and modern. Love it.

Wonderful vlog! Your mom is a doll & as always, darling Ivy & Maggie. I miss time with my mom so much. She passed away 3 yrs ago at 93. We had a lifetime of special moments & great journeys together for my 56 years. Cherish every moment! York is beautiful & definitely a place a want to visit. God bless you all!
I feel exactly the same Luke when I say goodbye to my Mum and Dad. I am originally from the North East and came down to Surrey 20 years ago and I STILL miss them so much and wished we had ‘time travel’ so I could see them more often. My sister lives in York and in an ideal world, I would love to live there too. I had tears in my eyes when I saw how upset you were after saying goodbye to your Mum. I hope my son turns out to be as lovely as you are. X

Hello Mam 👋🏼. We love your son! He's an inspiration and a just a wonderful person to just watch. Happy Valentine's Day to you all. So happy to see Maggie and Ivy together again. They are soul sisters ❤. Btw I watch you and Mr C's videos like 3 times..once while I'm getting ready for work so not really paying attention, another when I'm home and decompressing from my 10 hour shift at work.. again not really paying too much attention (bc its playing in the background while I do other things) Then on Thursday evening (my Friday) or Sunday morning when I'm still in bed and can really relax and focus 😅 So you get 3 views from me

Hi from York, my home town. So pleased you love it, shame the weather wasn't better. The street with the charity shops is a fave with me and the cafe with the cronuts does gorgeous greetings cards. From a fellow Labrador owner, well 2 actually! 💛

Ohh gosh Luke i cryed when you said Goodbye to your mam, we just buried ours on 1st February 2024, last year i said final goodbyes each time i saw her. I am from Yorkshire ( now live in Liverpool) Mam lived at Bempton on the East Coast. Treasure every moment

Spent a lovely few days in York in September. It was good to revisit! Make the most of the time with your parents, wish mine were still around.

I have wonderful memories of York. Spending time with a friend that I met when I was 11 and who moved to York in her 20's. She has passed on now. I teared up with memories of York and also how emotional you were about departing from your Mum. You are a lovely son and your Mum must be so proud of you. I truly love your Vlog's.
Many years ago I went to York such a beautiful place. I do love seeing your mam love hearing the geordie accent. Your vlog cheered me up no end had devastating news on Friday my older brother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer sadly he passed away the following day.
Aww Luke so lovely to see you and Mam spending time together 🙏 my Sons are 30 and 27 so I can relate they don’t live nearby so we have quality time when we see each other, I got emotional when you got upset leaving you’re such a lovely Son too ♥️

Oh Luke …. Another lovely video. I’m a 1,000 years older than you … but you made me laugh and cry. Your mums dog with all those sticks in her mouth… hilarious! That’s talent. Then that feeling of saying goodbye to your parents … my mums been gone 10 years and my father 2 … I enjoyed every second with them and used to be exactly the same as you 😢. I love Bill's, been to at least 4 different ones, and found them all to be good food and really pleasant friendly staff.
Am planning a visit to York in the next year, once I retire next month, so good to know there is another Bill's to add to my list😊
York is such a truly wonderful place. I have many happy memories of spending time there over the years.
I just recently added pictures to my screen saver from our 4 month visit to England in 2016. I had a picture of The Earl Grey Tea Shop and for the life of me couldn't remember where I had taken it. Then today, as I watched this video, there you were walking right by it! We were very surprised by York. It ended up being one of our favorite places to have visited. Thanks for taking us along on your visit.
I feel the same about my son who is 25 he has moved interstate and now lives 30 hours away by car and 61/2 hours if I fly.

Oh! Luke, you went past a cat lover gift shop! I would have loved to see it. I'm sure Mr Carrington will also ask you about it. I really loved York, it will sure go on my places to visit in the UK list. Your mum was adorable, as always. You two have so much fun when you are together. I'm glad that Maggie has already got her new bed.

Make lots of memories, my mum and me were best friends and spent lots of days together.
I lost her 10 years ago and I pull on those memories whenever I am missing her.
I still have my dad who will turn 90 this year and we see each other every day and i make him lots of those ginger cakes as they are his favourite .

Luke as a mum with a 27-year-old daughter who lives 100 miles away from me. Please believe me it never gets any easier for a Mama Bear either. All we can do is cherish the time that we have together and every time we see our loved ones hugged them little bit longer. Thank you for a lovely stroll around York. I’ve never been myself but it looks lovely so might just put it on my bucket list
Loved this wholesome vlog. I feel the same as you- I’m 26, live in York & my family is just over 3hrs away. The distance feels hard to me when I realise how planned things are, I wish I could just pop round for an hour for a cuppa ☕️

Luke you don't need to apologize for feeling upset when you left your mum, it's a natural process, I felt like you when I left my mum it is what makes us who we are and the closeness we feel towards our loved ones. I too love York it is a great city. I have been a few times. had to chuckle at Ivy with those sticks. Always good to spend time with loved ones. hope the journey back to London wasn't too long. xxx

I live in the States and have visited York a few times. In 2018 my daughter was married in the Catholic church near the Minster! You are correct, it’s a beautiful city!

Oh I loved York when I visited Europe. I could easily live there ! Such a wonderful place!! We really enjoyed seeing Shambles street, and our time in the York minster.
I visited York for the 1st time September 2023 for our anniversary. The day we went was beautiful blue skies and it was absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely visit again as York is now one of our favourite cities ❤❤❤❤

Luke I think you need to book in advance for the train, we paid £50 return from Southampton last July when I came up to visit my cousin. No flexibility that's the only problem. Ps almond croissants are my favourite and fortunately my mum loves them too !!! ❤

Winchester has the best cathedral. It's enormous for such a tiny little city. It was the capital of England before London. And you need to go inside to really appreciate it. I climbed the tower at York Minster last year. What a view.

York beautiful city only time won't go is when saint Nicholas fair is on in york its that packed with that many people you can't move am a hour away from York by train from hull in East Yorkshire

We went to York a couple of years ago. It was on our list of places we wanted to visit. Highly recommend the Ghost tour and the railway museum.

I do understand how you feel Luke - I currently live in Somerset and have done now for over 12yrs but going back home to Northumberland to see family and friends makes me feel incredibly happy until it comes to leaving them again - when we set off we never say Goodbye just See you later - it never gets any easier - it’s like a double life 🥰
You need to put a folded blanket or a piece of carpet under the dogs bed, it does get cold on the tiled floor.
