Man, that was an interesting story! Knowing a little about how things in Africa work, I would not be surprised at how the first guy left the business. Those times more that recent years, were about who you knew and how you could keep your connections alive. When I was snorkeling in the lake in 99, our group spent some time at Cape Mclear and Monkey Bay. We saw fish there that originate from other parts of the lake - ie: Aulonocara stuartgranti - Chilowelo (Red Shoulder), Cobalt/Pearl Zebras, and others. When we asked how they got there - we were told they had been released by Peter Davies who had to leave due to tax issues with the Malawi Government.
