Most technically skilled DJ on earth. There will never be a DJ with more savvy and genius than Jeff Mills. I will fight to the death anyone who says there is someone better.
This is for those who just want to bear witness to how a DJ/Artist work. No flashing special effects or booty shakers to distract the viewer. Most videos have all that extra stuff to distract people from noticing that something ain't really as good as they think. This look easy for Jeff compared to the stuff we heard back in Detroit live on WJLB when he was known as THE WIZARD! That would be something to see!
Imagine if you will...Beethoven or Mozart or Chopin or Mahler fading in through the mists of time and hearing and SEEING this ( most important that bit...SEEING the music ) they would undoughtably decreeing this to be the work of genius as the linear picture this music paints in the minds ear is, after all, what they where trying to do...Gerry...
The Bells is such an amazing song. Especially when you listen closely to the record and the highs start getting all tweaky toward the end. The subtle nuances of the song are so spectacular. Simple and primal.
Jeffrey does the business. The first time I ever heard Purpose Maker II was at The Arches in Glasgow and it blew me away. I'll never forget it -- it stood out even then.
i've never really seen the specifics of a dj at work. incredible stuff. after watching this i'll never be able to listen to trace in the same way again.
@nickholm I agree with you to some extent but when playing infront of a crowd I think it's better to have some hand clapping... Gives you a greater connection with the crowd : )
@Schaezen They are the Burden Brothers are called "Octave One" and I think that the track does not exist. I think it is pure improvisation, but appears in the DVD of Jeff. I do not know more
this is the funniest thing I've ever read on youtube and I don't care that it's 2 years old. I just hope you've learned something in those 2 years, or you still troll this hard.
hi can I ask you for the question, who is the parter of Jeff Mills in this track? that¨s really perfect. thanks for the answear best regards from Pilsen Terka a Michal
LOOOL die beiden Herre da gehn ja mal voll ab XD die Bangen ja bis die Fetzen fliegen XD .. ne Leude das ja wohl man nich schwer XD und was tuht der Typ da mit den Kopfhörern?
@LiquidSmooth its not easier to beatmatch on serato, youre thinking of traktor maybe? if anything its harder to lock a mix on serato unless the signal is perfect as it doesnt stay perfectly in time. While i agree that it is sad that not many people play vinyl anymore,i no longer have to curse that i didnt bring a certain tune due to weight/bag size issues and also i dont get a bad back the morning after a gig any more.
@Plamen2007 look something, if he is continuedly doing movements that are mart of djing process is because those movements are needed. like @nickholm said, those nowadays djs only handclapp, do u know why? because they prepare the set over and over again at home till it comes ok for the show and then, on the real live show they only have to make the transictions of the songs. THIS GUY MAKES THE REAL DJing LIVE ON THE SHOW
@bobywaz Beatmatching is the simplest part of DJing - Anyone can beatmatch after 2 - 3 hours practice. Cueing is much more important which is knowing when to start mixing the track. It's not as simple as fading one out and the other in - You can't just drop a track in anywhere. 99.9% of dance music follows a 4/4 rhythm. which means you can count the beats in multiples of 4 (so 4, 8, 12, 16) before the track loops... That is the simplest way of learning when to drop your next track.
