  • NIK'A Recurve Limbs, N3 and C2 Speed test
    Hi everyone.
    Hope everyone is well and having a great time.
    After being asked by some subscribers, today I took both the NIK'A N3 Progress recurve limbs and the C2 Cornerstone recurve limbs and shoot them both from the same bow through my Chronograph. I used the same arrows thus making it a very scientific test ;)
    I was surprised just how much difference there was.
    Let me know if there is anything else you want to see, and I will try to do it.

    Where is the carbon on the C2 if not on the face and back of the limb? Can you see the carbon at the sides in the core of the limb?

    • @brookvalleylife724
      @brookvalleylife724  Рік тому

      Hi again Brad. The carbon is impregnated into the resin and then pressed in a metallic mould. Unlike the C1, which has a layer of carbon weave on front and back (C1 20% carbon) (C2 10% carbon)

    First I would like to thanks for the effort in presenting us with the alternativs to the Hoyt/WinWin .
    I also would like to know if Nika specs for strung are as Uukha(they recomend 16 -8125 - string for a 68" at 40lbs)?

    • @brookvalleylife724
      @brookvalleylife724  Рік тому +1

      I haven't come across any specs, but I use 18 strand, 8125 for 70 and 68" bows between 30-40lbs. Got a few bows. Also, from other archers I have heard 16 and 18 strand strings. They both work well. I also have a set of 40lb Uukha HX10 EVO2 limbs and run 18 -8125 on 70" bow.

    Good day sir. Want to ask :
    - Uukha SX50 is quite expensive than Nika C1/C2. And since Nika produce limb that rival Uukha itself, does the shooting feel same as Uukha?
    - Some of my friends that owned Ukkha SX50 say that when full draw it feel a bit let-off (similar to compound). Do Nika C1/C2 have these feature too?
    - What is the different between Nika C1 & C2?
    Thanks

    • @brookvalleylife724
      @brookvalleylife724  Рік тому +2

      Hello. So the SX50, I believe are the same as the HX10 EVO2 limbs that I have. The N3 Progress limbs are equal to the HX10 EVO2. The C1 and C2 limbs are very stable and smooth and feel a lot like the Uukha s but not as fast. I find tha none of the Nik'a limbs are effected by stacking (is this what you mean about the let off possibly). The difference between the C1 and C2 id the carbon content. C1 has 20% and C2 10%carbon, but the carbon difference is only the finish in the C1 limbs. They both shoot the same speed.
      Hope this makes some sense.

    I have the Nika N3 for a month & they were shooting my BlackEagle arrows like they were darts. But we've been having late blizzards even though it's technically spring here in the US Upper Midwest. So I know I've lost some muscle memory but my Nika C1 limbs just showed up yesterday & they're 4 lbs lighter so I'm going to use them starting tomorrow to buildup again. Just don't want to have a setup where I regress by pulling too much & hurting my form which was very good earlier in March. Good-day to ya.

      @brookvalleylife724  Рік тому +2

      Hey Joseph. Yeah the N3 are certainly fast. C2 are smooth and stable and will help keep your form . We had our first cool snap last week. Got down to 0.7 degrees Centigrade. Bit of a shock. 🤣😂

      @@brookvalleylife724Just got a chance to shoot a short session of my new C1 Cornerstone limbs. I haven't shot for over 2 weeks so I won't have a fair comparison for another month of steady shooting. Warming up here the next couple of days & u can really feel that the days r longer when it isn't 🥶 @ night. I would say that the C1's r more forgiving but I don't think there's as big of a difference between a C1 or C2 like there is with a N3. That limb is just a beast but u have to be ready for it. The universe thrives on balancing everything out. Take care. 🏹

      @@josephtreadlightly5686 Totally agree with you. The C1 and C2 are very similar but the N3 are another level. If I didn't have my Uukhas I would get a set of 40lb N3 for my competition (70/60m) bow.

      @@brookvalleylife724 So how old r the Uukhas & have u seen any diminished performance on them yet? I'm sure someone has to spend $1000 for a carbon limb by them which makes the new Nika Progress Pro a bargain too.

      @@josephtreadlightly5686 I have the HX10 Evo2, so very comparable to the N3s. They are still shooting fine when I get to shoot them. I haven't seen a price for the Progress Pros yet, but they look pretty good. All I know is they will be more than the normal N3s.

    What is your draw length? How many total grains for your arrows? To get those speeds I really like to know your arrow weight out of the 30 lbs your drawing? Thank you

    • @brookvalleylife724
      @brookvalleylife724  Рік тому

      Hi Brad. the Skylon Radius I shoot are 29" long (Carbon to carbo). They weigh 276 grain.

    • @bradlauber9097
      @bradlauber9097 Рік тому +1

      So your arrows are 29.5 from nock fork to the insert basically? What is your actual draw length as you could draw under 30 lbs or over do to draw length? Seems a little slow for your arrow set up and 30 lbs.. If I deside to buy a pair of C2 limbs I like to know what weight limbs I like to purchase with your input.. thank you . Oh physical weight of the limbs ,did you weigh them?

    • @brookvalleylife724
      @brookvalleylife724  Рік тому

      @@bradlauber9097 So I checked the draw weight of them so draw length was not an issue. The weight of the actual limb I didn't check but it seems the same as every other limb I have (hoyt, Uukha, KAP and other NIK'a)

    • @bradlauber9097
      @bradlauber9097 Рік тому

      So Hoyt and the kap you get roughly the same speeds as these limbs may have similar limb profile as the Nika c2?

    • @bradlauber9097
      @bradlauber9097 Рік тому

      Those speeds seem slow. I e mailed Nika, I asked for a certain weighted limb but they don't seem to have the higher weighted limbs to my liking in the c2 limbs. Nika mentioned they let me know when they make higher poundage limbs but never get back to me. 3 Rivers archery carried their limbs once but Nika couldn't give the volume of limbs 3 Rivers wanted. 3 Rivers stopped selling them. I guess I will stick to my Kinetic limbs

    • @brookvalleylife724

      I haven't done it myself but have had a few viewers tell me they are good. It will increase the draw weight as normal so always check what you need to draw. From what I remember it will increase the 23 inch riser by about 4 lb in draw weight.

    Well I shot the C1 Cornerstone limbs that r 40 lbs. & I cranked the tiller bolts all the way down. They shot well off my new Fleetwood wood riser but I do know that I'm going to have to do some sanding & molding to that riser to be 💯.
    However my lower grade Black Eagle Instinctive arrows that r 400 spine r not quite as stiff as the Black Eagle X-Impact arrows. I tore the feathers off 1 of the Instinctive arrows to verify that they r less tail right than the X-Impact bare shaft shot with the C1 limbs. In a couple of months I will be able to shoot just the N3's which r perfect with the X-Impact arrows but myself & the weather aren't there yet. When I shot yesterday it was 1* Celsius & that's better than the previous days where winter won't lose it's grip even after having a streak of 80+* Fahrenheit days last week that just created problems since it was just too drastic of a change. Looking forward to this week & May which is such longer days that the only concern is a spring tornado. Good day too u. 🎉 Strong.😅

      400 seem stiff . My 40lb H7 with Uukha limbs (So fast as well) shoot 600 spine perfectly. And I have an issue with fletchings being ripped due to centre shot being off slightly. Took me ages to find it as I thought I had set it. That weather sounds fun..... Ours is now cooling down to mid 60's, but we did have mid 70's this weekend. We don't get big differences like you do but we have had a number of tornadoes lately which is surprising. Hope they steer clear of you. Fingers crossed your weather get warmer and you can get outside shooting.

      @@brookvalleylife724 I have a Valkyrie Viking Centerpin system which is heavy up front & u need to shoot a 4mm arrow. The Black Eagle X-Impact which is only 6.7 grains per inch & very straight is the best shaft to team with it. The outserts r all steel & 58 grains but they r made for a Black Eagle diameter so a Victory VAP TKO won't work with it. That means they need a fast limb @ 50 lbs. I will get there with the N3's. I did alot of research & Junxing makes a T-7075 machined riser which is marketed by the huge Lancaster Archery here in the states. They call it the EXE Scream. There's alot of guys on Trad Talk who ❤️ them & most of those guys have N3's & a few have the original Cornerstone limbs. I wasted time buying other risers & trying to make them work. It was not about price, but preference. The EXE Scream is only $240 US dollars & it comes with a manual & all the fittings. I should be better off with equipment & weather by the end of the week. I will keep u posted.

    it's basically and atfx with inno cxt counterweight, wich is interesting. Both et11 & 9 seems to perform amazingly for barebow from what i've seen in chinese competition.
