The new generation that takes over will always only have $$$ on their mindset. The olden days mindset of business owners would always be to keep things affordable so everyone can enjoy it, I earn enough to give my family a comfortable life, that's more than enough.
I remember as a child how I would always get excited when my parents brought home their box of egg tarts. As a primary school kid I would wolf down all 5 egg tarts during their olden days of the purple square box. I remember in my teens and early 20s, I used to always buy boxes and boxes of their egg tarts for potluck and gatherings with friends and relatives. After their prices skyrocketed to over $2, I havent bought their egg tarts in years. Egg tarts are meant to be a snack, a quick bite, it's basically "poor-people food". But they've priced their egg tarts as if its a main dish that people can get full from. I know my comment is not going to change anything and they'll continue to be millionaires for years to come but it's just sad that how capitalism has taken over their mindset just like many other big corporations. "I'll price my items right at the breaking point of my customers. I'm gonna squeeze every cent I can out of my customers."
