I'm from the states and we'll obviously never meet, but you've helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life with that post fight speech. I lost one of my best friends to an overdose a month ago and was definitely thinking some awful shit about wanting this pain to go away. So, thank you, Paddy

I've struggled and still do with mental health, suicidal thoughts.
I go to gym every day... I'm starting work soon and moving into better accommodation.
I've gone through alot and been diagnosed with PTSD.
For some reason I'm still here... and hearing you say what you said on fight night made me break down there and then.

I love seeing them win both in the ring and in life.

I''ve had a female friend of mine that's been struggling with bipolar for several years and I can honestly say that engaging in the mental health system and keeping her friend network in the loop has kept her breathing on more than one occasion over this time. We have a roster system we kick in when things get really bad to make she she's supervised but it relies on her letting us know when she's on the edge. I've told her myself many times I'd rather I get called out to her place than to lose her.
Talking, reaching out, finding ways to get through those key critical moments can't be overstated

I’ve spoken up and gotten help when I was 18 and was struggling and considering taking my life and it changed my life I am now on solid feet and moving forward in life. Men need to speak up because being honest about how you feel is the strong thing to do be quiet is the weak approach

Thanks for highlighting such an important issue. Unfortunately the funding isn’t there for mental health. The government cuts the money every year. I know from personal experience the back logs and delay in treatment. I’m on a waiting list and I’ve been told it’s at least a year before I’ll be seen. Something urgently needs to be done about this as it’s costing lives.
Keep up the good work mate. Thanks.

Don't wait a year. Try some psilocybin, it's life changing.
See if you can find any people doing studies on it if you want to do it legally.

Had a friend who was a Veteran recently take his life. I thought for a long time it was my fault because I never knew what he was going through and he never said anything. I still feel to this day if I had just asked he may still be here. What Paddy said broke me. "I'd rather have my friend ctying on my shoulder than go to his funeral." Fucking right Paddy.

My man, from someone who has lost 6 friends 2 of which were some of my closest friends in the past 3yrs and feels guilty almost as if I regret me living instead of them due to us all living the same lifestyle, and from someone who struggles DAILY with thoughts of self destruction. THANK YOU, I cannot stress this enough you are someone who is meant to not only be a fighter, but a leader and a voice for people.
I hope I can meet you, and shake your hand to formally say thanks one day... I Know I will. KEEP FIGHTING, not only with your fists man but the wisdom and strength you show and inspire in others.

Had an old friend randomly contact me to catch up last year. He never gave the impression anything was wrong, told me how great everything was going with new career opportunities.. woke up the next day to a phone call from his mom... that was one of the hardest funerals I've ever attended. He hid his emotions so well and never once mentioned his mental health struggles. Knowing he reached out to me but didn't feel comfortable enough to talk about his struggles with me really messed me up. First thing I did was sat down with my close friends and talked about everything I was feeling. Talking about your problems needs to be looked at as a strength rather than weakness. 1000% agree

Inspirational really. Fighting is no easy task and you some how make it look it. I have never fully liked my body weight and you have just proven not just to me but thousands of other people that it just requires a lot of struggles. Especially how hard you have to want it too. You are so inspirational man and hope you win and win and win again because you are the man.
