@siljekjenes First, with acrylic paint, I faided green up to white. Then I washed over it with some blue oil paint. I made the top layer thicker than the underneath so that it would crack.

wow. you make this look so easy. im looking at videos for tips on drawing; my roommates are expecting a baby boy and want me to paint the room as a forest theme; and they cut my rent for the labor cost. im good at drawing; but like i said; looking for tips. your video was the first one i came across; and im already to give it a go!!! lol. very cool vid.

i made my own version of the painting
a green background, a few more branches and instead of whimsical thingie's
i painted little pink blossem's

you could use water if you work fast enough. Keep in mind though that acrylics dry a lot faster. You could also use an extender medium with your paints to increase the drying time. That would allow you more time to "soften" as you work or blend colors and edges

linseed oil is used to help thin the paint out.this helps to paint wet on wet paint and finer strokes
