Visiting The Arc de Triomphe In Paris
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 січ 2025
- In this video I head to the Arc de Triomphe located in Paris, France. The most monumental of all triumphal arches, was built between 1806 and 1836 and is located in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the “Place de l’Étoile”.The triumphal arch is in honor of those who fought for France, in particular, those who fought during the Napoleonic Wars.
In this video I share the full experience of a visit to the Arc de Triomphe along with the fantastic views across paris that can we seen from the top.

What makes these videos even more special, is that you're such a personable and genuine man.
Best wishes!
Thank you
That isn't a palace, it's the Sacré-Cœur...a church. It's the most painted and sketched building in the world. LOVE this trip..... you are always so lucky with the weather as well!
Thank you for watching!
For any U2 fans on here, they shot their video for Two Hearts Beat As One at Sacre Coeur.
So glad you made your videos. It helps to see what the experience will be like. Thanks.
Thanks for taking us along for the journey, cheers!
Thank you!

What an excellent video. What camera were you using? The zoom shots had me floored.
Thank you! I used a Sony AX53 for this video!
Another amazing video, Shawn!
Cheers
I enjoyed revisiting the Arc de Triomphe with you. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you Shawn for showing my own town to the tourists.
Magnifique! Thanks for sharing ☺️
To answer your question: the blue line is a marking used for the Bastille Day military parade (July 14th). It seems they didn"t rub hard enough to erase it.
Thanks for letting me know
Great video, very informative. Liked the zoom parts too.
Great vlog, enjoyed the commentary!!
Super vidéo Merci pour votre aide.
Et le peuple crie victoire ! Clic sur le Smiley.
Another awesome video and another place I check out next month only thing that be cool is if you filmed the train journey to the location and maybe the boat tour next time I think that be really cool but overall great video fully enjoyed it and I will as you always say at the end lol have an adventure myself.
Good job with the video. Gave me a great feel of the place.
Wow! Impressive 👍
Thanks for the Tour 😊❤️
You’re a fun and charismatic guy, Shawn...I like your work! While having a relaxing morning at the computer with my coffee, I saw that
the Arc de Triomphe debuted on this day (July 29) in 1836. I then found your feed, settled in, and really enjoyed it.
This engaging video is a real gem. Not everyone gets the chance to schlep around Paris.
Thanks for bringing it to us.
Thank you!

Pretty sure i havent seen any videos of the arch like this before. Thanks :)
Surprisingly good views from the top of it.
Not so sure about the "disability ramps" on the roof.. How they get up the stairs? :P
Thank you for watching, I'm not sure on that!
There is an elevator.
I was there two months ago and the Arc de Triomphe is by far my favorite landmark in Paris. It is amazing, beautiful and the size is incredible.
It is indeed
Fantastic video! It really makes you feel like you're there! Thanx a lot. I am now a subscriber. 🤗

Jesus, its a long way to the top if you wanna see paris. Very nice and interrestet. So i sitting on my sofa, drink some beer and travel around the world with my friend shawn. Thanks a lot and dont stop to travel for us. Take care and god bless.
On the tomb of this unknown soldier lay the tools of the one who for us had died.
Great video Shawn loved the vies and your camera has a great zoom, thanks again😊🤗🤗😊
It does indeed, cheers for watching
Shawn is it a 4k camera?
At 6:45 you mention the airport-style security checks and the body scanner. Can I just ask what you mean by body scanner? Do you mean the metal detector arch that people just walk under or the x-ray machine you put your arms up in while it scans you? I've heard people call the arch metal detectors body scanners too when referring to them away from airports. I'm autistic and like to know what to expect.
It was the arch at the time of recording
Thank you for showing around hope to see more beautiful places
That road looks seriously dangerous surely they could put lines on it I would not drive on it madness. Another great vlog shawn really interesting. Thanks xx
That roundabout is unreal!
Thank you to Shawn for taking us to places we dream of going to. Its like you are actually there. Informative and friendly presentation.
Thank you!
If your dream is to even look at that roundabout you should just stay home sir
Would love a go on that roundabout, be like the dodgems at the fair
Arc de Triomphe is amazing! got to see Paris from the rooftop! I cant get enough of this amazing city, did also a travel vlog about it :D..
Thank you sir this is compelling
Another great AdventureShawn video Shawn mate ;)
I hope you do upload video from other famous places in Paris, and keep up the good work!
There's more to come throughout the year
I was Absolutely gutted that I couldn't go up here, so thank you so much, I really felt like I was there x
Was there on a tour July 2018. Had no idea we could have gone up the Arc. Nice video!
We spent our free time at the Notre Dame church (unplanned btw) which unfortunately burnt in 2019 so I am glad I saw the church whilst it was in all it's glory. Saddened what happened to it. Such a masterpiece of architecture.
15:38 I’m back
wow enjoyed this video and the tower one thank you Shaun. you show also cost and what is in gift shops big thank you (From Australia)
Thank you
Thanks for posting
It's a fantastic piece of architecture this. Absolutely loved seeing it and walking up it. Really is strange if you don't know how to get to it with all that traffic lol
My dream was to go to Paris....I'm going with you NOW!❤
Nice one, Shawn. I always enjoy how thorough you are in your travel videos. Next time you're in Paris, you might consider doing vids on Notre Dame as well as the Church of the Sacred Heart (Sacré Cœur). Also, since you like climbing stairs, you could do a video about climbing to the top of the dome in St. Paul's Cathedral. That would be fun.
Thanks for these suggestions
Great video, very informative. Planning to visit next month, and would love to go up the Arch, do they have any elevators? I have a bit of a problem going up and down the stairs due to a knee problem.
There's no elevator as far as I know sadly
Actually there a very small escorted elevator across from where you go through security if I remember correctly for those unable to climb.
Hi shawn, another great vlog. That road roundabout looks crazy, when you zoomed in on the new square arch building there are lots of new skyscrapers nearby i noticed. Are you going there next. Stairs like statue of liberty too.
I will do at some point!
Hoping to go up the Arc de Triomphe at sunset to see the Eiffel Tower lights switch on next week, how early before sunset would you say is a good time to get there, in order to get to the top and get through security etc?
Great vlog Shawn, I was there a few years ago, the traffic was mad 😀
It does get very busy!
Glad you survived Aled
Great stuff as always bud🇮🇪🤘
Thanks Joey
Cool beans....great video!😅
Is there a lift in the arch de triophe
Triomphe
There's no lift
AdventureShawn funny that
I've never been so close to this structure, or the Eiffel tower. Thanks for the perspective and the views. But I won't consider it an adventure until I see you sit down and tuck into a plate full of snails. Bon appetit!
Thanks for watching
Shawn, this video was great! Seriously! All of the times we have been to Paris we have never gone up the Arc. We will next time for sure. By the way, what zoom are you using? Wow its amazing.
Thank you, it's well worth the trip! I use a Sony camcorder to film these!
What camera/gear/lenses did you use mate for this amazing zoom?
We used our Sony AX53 for this!
Whats the name of the amusement park you mentioned in the video?
It’s called Jardin
Really like your videos!
Thanks!
Shawn enjoying watching your videos. What type of camera do you use.
Thanks Mike, I use a Sony AX53!
Which camera do u use ?
I use a Sony camcorder
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures what model please?
I know this isn’t related to this video but I just thought you’d like to know that the waterfall/water effects is back on on zoofari at chessington
Thanks for letting us know
how long does the total visit take?
As long as you like! Usually around 30-45 minutes!
If I bought an e-ticket online, can I just go straight into the Arc de Triomph instead of lining up to exchange e-tickets for a physical one?
Thank you.
I believe so
Have you been up the Montparnasse tower yet? That's the best view of the eiffel tower by far in my opinion.
Not yet!
Je ne comprend pas ce que tu dis je suis juste la pour voir Paris ahaha... Je suis francais mais continue comme ça j'adore ton concept😍😍♥️🇫🇷
Thank you for watching
Start video, like after 10 seconds and enjoy. 😊 Love your content.

I love to see u visit Nothern Ireland and visit the game of Thrones locations.Even if u never followed the series i think u like it. In 2020 they plan to have the props ,costumes, storyboards and rebuild some of the sets for exhibition in Belfast. i think they have a temporary exhibition for a few months now.
Winter is coming Lord Sandbrook the king in the Norf Looool.🐲🐺👑🌋❄🍁😁😁😁
How high is the arc cre onth I am scared of hights
Sad I didn’t go inside when I went to Paris :(
17.49 I believe it is pronounced 'loov'
That the most common belief in the US, but outside the US and in France the (loov)-rah sound can be used. It just depends on who cares really.
Wonder how many wrecks go on riding on the round about
Do you travel to Paris alone?
I sure did
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures is it safe travelling there alone? I really want to go to Paris but want to travel alone to see the city as much as I can :)
How does a wheelchair get up to the top?
If you go to Paris, get the Paris Pass. It gets you in to most major tourist attractions/museums etc included and skip the line. Best travel money I ever spent. We wanted to get to the top of the Arc for sunset, but were running late. The line was massive and we just walked to the front of the line and voila, we were at the top in no time.
Thanks for sharing this information!
🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵👍👍👍
That's what you consider busy? Try I-4 during rush hour it's a massive parking lot. You can't get anywhere. Try the Orlando after dark tour.its kinda fun learning about the ghosts of central Florida. Oh and lake Elola has a plague about the soldier that Orlando was named after. It's not true but it's Orlando's past. Orange ave is the last original part of Orlando but very few old buildings remain. Try the oldest restaurant here and it's quite good. And the icon changed names again into simply the wheel not sure if it was a prank or not.
Thanks for the information
Shit, just a few days ago this place was in utter chaos with cars on fire. Is everything calm now?
This was filmed around a month ago
Maybe it is a gate
7:14 shit man i raised my head up to see the top of the stairs, then i realize im at home hahaha wtf
