Hi, I own a 135i e82 n55 BMW, I'm interested in installing that VAC baffle, how has it worked since then? Any issue or something you could tell me about it before installing myself one? Thank you!

hey man did you ever have rod issues? i have the same car and planning on doing same thing

Never ever had rod issues and drive the car hard when I feel like it :)
I also maintain the car consistently with fluid changes and let it warm up and cool down accordingly.

very informative, how much was the oil pan baffle shipped to aus? also are you thinking of installing an lsd diff?

      Thanks man! Appreciate it.
From memory about $300-400. I’m definitely considering doing an upgraded LSD at some point :)

Yeah I have a question. What's the rate of oil pumped by the oil sump? How much volume does the sump hold? As I understand it the car is fine under 0.6Gs of lateral and longitudinal force, but suppose we are at sustained 1.4Gs of lateral or longitudinal force? Its obvious a baffle won't collect oil that's not in the pan, so it stands to reason that there is a maximum amount of time in which a sustained G force and a baffle can supply oil to the pickup before the sump is just empty. What is that time? If VAC sponsored this post and they took the effort to manufacture a baffle, and if the baffle actually does anything (apparently an open question still), shouldn't they be able to provide you with this data?

This is a great question! I’m going to ask if they have extra data on it!

Baffle is pretty useless under those conditions, I alway had my oil pressures dropping in long lefthanders and if trailbraking at the same time they would get worrying low. Now I have installed an accusump and its perfect 👌🏼

@@hellaspower7546 I’ve read that before and it makes sense. Is it worth running a baffle with an accusump? Seems like the accusump covers a superset of the cases the baffle covers.

@@snivesz32 if you have to take the oil pan off I would definitely install one, let's say you do the turbos or remove the front subframe for some reason then yes why not. Otherwise I would just install a 3qt accusump and be done with it. It did the trick for me.

@@hellaspower7546 I am planning to do turbos soon as mine are smoking and this was exact what i was contemplating, haha.
