I’m not sure why no ones ever mentioned this before. But I truly consider Woody and Buzz to be the greatest symbolic form of oppositions clashing. No only the Cowboy vs Astronaut concept (old frontier vs new frontier). But in terms character too, that being how Woody is smart, he usually can form a well devised strategic plan. just like with sids house or the daycare escape. vs buzz who is very athletic, acrobatic, and capable to improvise on the field.
And I only recently realized this because of how subtle it was. that really is perfect story telling.
