He's not allowed to look down or acknowledge they're there, but when his little sister holds his hand he gives her hand a little squeeze. Very touching video

As we soldiers been trained not to move even when we sweat and flies started buzzing around our face we blown air at their direction to fend them off. That thing is under his mouth,even if it is supposed to be there he surely wants to re position it by making grins and pushing the hat against the wall. I.hope he wasn't spotted by any superior of his. Nothing is worse than standing at one spot and showing readiness and alert while standing still actually takes that away by making all joints stiff

Not heat stroke. The man wasn't doing the things necessary to keep his blood flowing upwards to his head while standing still for a prolonged period of time. I spent hours every day standing in formation for ceremonies and training for them, and have seen that happen a number of times. As you settle down to wait for your next command, your blood pressure goes down (like it would if you sat down to watch TV), and so, blood has a harder time reaching your brain, causing you to black out if you don't take steps to keep it flowing. Most people wake up on the ground, once their body doesn't have to struggle to get blood to the brain because they're horizontal. Very rarely will it be heat stroke. Since that IS a possibility, there are usually medical crews ready in the rear to handle those who pass out (at big ceremonies like that, that is).
It is pretty funny when they're stupid enough to put people out to guard on a hot summer day, with 4 layers of clothing and a big fuck-off furry hat just because it's tradition. I'd say it's pretty tradition to faint when doing so.
I remember my dad taking me to watch them on parade. I was very young and couldn't see their faces so thought they were monsters due to the bear skin. That head wear is heavy btw!
