Held onto this tip for some years now. Will share it here: Add 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt to a gallon of water and spray your lawn for a lusher, greener lawn. Epsom salt is loaded with magnesium!

Would have been a bit better if your lawn wasn’t so green to start

Don't add epsom salt unless you've done a soil test and it showed your lawn had low levels of either sulfur or magnesium. If your lawn ph is already acidic or high in magnesium I wouldn't add epsom salt. Dolomite would be a better choice. Too much magnesium can stunt growth due to it's tendency to slow calcium uptake and alter the soil. It looks like it worked out for you so you likely have magnesium and sulfur deficiencies, high calcium and high ph soil like me. You may want to get a spreader and spread 1-3 lbs per 1000 sq ft in your lawn until your nutrient levels read optimal on a test. Do not apply a quarter lb per square ft in the future, that's generally way too much. It's the equivalent of more than half a ton per typical yard. You'll eventually burn your lawn, harm your grass or cause enough run off into the water system to affect aquatic life. It's likely most of this ran off when you watered it, which is why it didn't harm your lawn. Note: If you have a sprayer you can do a foliar application by adding 1-2 tablespoons per gallon / per 1,000 square feet and spraying your lawn.

The more I learn about lawn the more you realize having a green lawn is a combination of things ....knowing your soil ph and apply line if needed ....adding things like Epsom salt, humic acid, seaweed, organic fertilizer and good mowing practice all helpt...

I was looking up Lawn Tonic with soap, beer and soda, ammonia, does this work better? Like the idea of green vs just grass! Congrats on your lawn!

Thank you. The best thing to green up your lawn is ironnite. Epsom salt helps too. Green tonic also helps. Ironite is the best bang for your money.

I’m sorry but a hand full of salt in what you thought was a square is not a test. You couldn’t see anything because of your shadow and you never marked the area to show what the test area was. This was a waste of time

Actually go to the end of the video where it's a week later and he very clearly describes the portion he treated ( The left half of the screen vs the right side of the screen where he didn't and you can indeed tell the left side is darker than the right side.
