Can the animation be improved? yeah But you certainly pay attention to detail and do what you can, and it turns out quite nicelly so. Good work lad. I recommend to try and make a fluid animation to practice your skill, something like a dance perhaps?
Not canon. Serious Sam is bad in close combat, especially hand-to-hand combat. His level is the normal hand-to-hand training of a soldier, which is not the level of old school shooter monsters
