This is the Chess King Pocket Micro Deluxe: a foldable pocket chess computer with 8 levels. It was introduced in the 1980s. In this video, I put it to the test against the Chessnut EVO. This is an Android chess computer with Stockfish, Leela Chess Zero, and Maia.

is there a lot of backlight bleeding going on around the other squares?
not that I notice. Also, Chessnut Evo that I have is an early production model. It is not the one you get when you buy it or so I was told. I got this months in advance to test it, so it does have some imperfections.
