This type of crime should have serious consequences. He was terrorizing the community.
Several towns he spread the nails in
Its not only the economic damage to the victims and environmental damage of all those wasted tires but also a safety concern. Modern cars drive surprisingly well on a flat tire and with the radio blasting you may not notice it at all until that tire shreds and the driver loses control. It would only take one out of control car to kill someone and then this guy would be facing a murder charge. He should not only be charged with the vandalism and force to pay restitution to victims but also charged with reckless endangerment on every victim and go away for life.
Maybe stop releasing people who are a danger to the public? Shesh.

I'm a truck driver. I was in the Florence KY (just south of Cincinnati) area a few months ago and came across a guy pouring a small bucket of nails at an intersection near Walmart. I got part of his license plate and complete description. I dialed 911 to report it, but the 911 operator didn't seem too concerned. I followed the guy for a few minutes and called back to update 911 of his location, but the lady seemed agitated that I was "so concerned." I couldn't believe #1 that someone had such a worthless life to do something like that, and #2 the police didn't seem to care.
She was probably like that because 911 is not for reporting simple things like that. It’s for life saving emergencies. You should have called the local police department instead or even state police.
@@F150customs Someone is deliberately creating a safety hazard on public roads. How is that not a life threatening emergency? All it takes is one bad blowout for a serious accident.
@@Misstersack true. But her duty is for current life saving services. When the operator got time they would then report it to local authorities
@@F150customs It takes all of a few seconds to transfer someone to a local precinct, DOT or any other emergency personnel. Whenever I've called and they weren't equipped to deal with something right there in their power, it's never been an issue to transfer me to the appropriate channel. By just blowing stuff off, the operator is just wasting time. If it came back that someone had a blowout that caused major property damage, injury or a fatality and not only was it preventable, but the initial report was blown off, do you think that dispatcher would still have a job? Absolutely not.

Possibly related to someone who had a tire shop. People have to serve time in order to learn. If he dropped nails in areas where judges live and judges kept getting flat tires then maybe they would keep him locked up for awhile
50 years ago society wouldnt even call the police theyd find him and he'd never do it again
Really? In 1974? Are you at least 70 years old and if so, where did you live to witness this?
People were imprisoned for murder and child rape back then, just like today.
Serious crimes that the community would have even *more* motive to hunt the offender down for. Yet they didn't.
_(Now, black men being lynched in very certain rural towns, "sun down towns?" Sure.)_
Lynching wasn't exclusive to black people. It was the way a town dealt with people who were a problem. Hanging was a legal form of capital punishment at one point in time.
Only a sociopath would go out of their way to deliberately damage random peoples’ tires and make their lives difficult for no reason at all. This worthless pos needs to be in prison for a long time.

We could throw out fancy words like that to describe him, but in any case it was highly deliberate and planned.
Or just a guy on the payroll of the local tire shop.
That's some true sociopath behavior. Someone once threw limestone boulders on the highway one night, I was doing paper delivery, myself and another vehicle hit them. It was terrible, destroying our cars. They were absolutely placed on the road and did not accidentally fall out. People are psycho.

the guy is not a sociopath... he is just a low level worker... someone is financing that $1600 worth of nails. dude can't even afford a hair cut, just look at the mess on his head... I believe someone was paying him to engage in this activity... a good set of tires for just ONE car will cost you 800 (1200 for a truck)... even cheap tires are going to cost you about 500 a set (mounted and balanced)... cops should have kept their mouth shut about colored nails and began looking at repair shops promoting flat tire deals/repair

I've been riding motorcycles for over five decades and a flat tire is uneventful. I've had plenty of flat tires, and not once have I ever been injured or wiped out. Where is the investigation into tire shops? The tire shops were obviously paying this dude to spread nails. Did nobody in the police department or news channel realize that? That's just embarrassing.
Why people why? We had a guy doing that but he went all out and made nail caltrops. We were in a rural neighborhood where most of us knew each other. He did it before we moved there and then when we were there. All four tires ended up either being repaired or toast multiple multiple times. The last time just before we moved we got a flat- took it to our tire place and the guy said "Well he outdid himself this time there's 3 caltrops embedded." Over that two years we also had random sharp, shaped pieces of metal embedded as well. It was a dangerous skinny road where if you blew a tire you wouldn't be able to safely react given the drop offs and bluffs butted up to the road, including an epic S curve. If you ask me these guys should be charged with attempted murder. To the cops who went way above their job, thinking of that solution, I salute you!
