  • Stratification in your aquarium salt mix buckets are a thing of the past! ESV's awesome 4-part salt mix may take a little bit more time to mix up than traditional buckets of salt, but, because all the components are separated, you (and your reef tank!) will get ultra-consistent batches of saltwater. From first batch to last, ESV salt mixes are a winner!

Most underrated salt mix in my opinion. Also dissolves faster than it's competitors.

From a consistency, purity, and overall best approach nothing touches ESV salt. I've used it almost exclusively since 2010-2011 (can't remember exactly when I found it.) It's the same today as it was then. Not another salt on market can say that.
Does it have a few extra steps? Yep. Do they become second nature after a few times? Yep. If mixing salt like this is "too hard" or "complicated", I wouldn't get too crazy into this hobby. We do much harder things to be successful.
I get it though. Some people just don't want to deal with it. That's okay. Plenty of other salts to pick from. The biggest reason I am looking to move away from ESV is the cost. It's gotten out of hand unfortunately.

Does ESV contain all major & minor/trace elements, or just a selection? Thanks!

Like virtually all salt mixes designed for reef tanks, ESV salt will include all of the major trace elements found in natural sea water 🙂

@@BulkReefSupply Guess I was more concerned about the minor/trace elements. Some salts only include a selection, while others include all (e.g., Tropic Marin).

@@brandonmms The average hobbyist isn't looking at this salt. It's geared towards and made for those that actually understand it and why it's beneficial.

This salt mix definitely has a DIY aspect to it (albeit with clear directions). If that's not your cup of tea, there are some other really great salt mixes out there that have similar benefits you could consider. Tropic Marin Pro Reef being one of them.
