We have heard some of the complaints, however, we've not experienced the same thing in our own mixing station/tanks around the BRS office. If you haven't already, shoot Tropic Marin an email with your batch number and they'll be able to look into it further.
So do you heat the water to the right temperature before adding the salt? I have always done this because it was recommended for the last salt and I’m switching..
Now I fanily know why I couldn't keep some corals alive until I switched to Fritz and after some months, some corals are final staying alive and things are looking up. So, who will pay me but $1,000+ in corals as I started with TM and it never did work.
You would want to use a product called EQUILIBRIUM and mix it with ro water according to the directions. It's basically the freshwater equivalent, except instead of having the right parameters, elements & minerals for corals and saltwater fish.. it has all the right levels for freshwater fish & plants. RO water must be used, as it gives you a blank slate to start without the things you Dont want like chlorine or chloramines.
What if your doing a Fowlr set up with No coral? would this salt work fine cause right now i have instant ocean reef salt i dont know if i made a mistake in buying that i just want a salt that is easy to mix and maintain that will not have any bad side effects
@@ThomasBReef thanks i have not even got the tank running i just wanted to see if this salt was a better pick for my set up. I already got instant ocean reefsalt but every BRS vdieo ive seen has said IO salt is ok but not the best and it takes for ever to mix
@john collins Thanks i think im going to get the Tropic Marin classic salt. I just want a salt that is really good and dose not leave unwanted stuff behind i have instand ocean reef salt but people have said it can leave unwanted things behind
I buy the absolute best for my reef tanks, always have and always will. After being a Red Sea Coral Pro and Tropic Marin salt for the last 15 years, I've went to Reef Crystals and I noticed one huge thing. Absolutely nothing except a bit more stability. Trace elements are not listed on any salt. We have NO idea what salt is any different from the other. They all mix up very close major nutrient amounts. Alkalinity being the only variant. Tropic Marin Pro Reef is LOW in almost everything. Not sure why this salt commands that price. The calcium and mag levels are low compared to Red Sea CP and Reef Crystals. Up to you, but don't expect different results out of salts. Choose a salt, adjust Alk, Cal, Mag and make sure you mix the correct amount for Salinity. Then do water changes and you will have success with most any salt.

Can I use this in a freshwater water tank to keep snails shells healthy
This is a salt mix designed for saltwater aquariums. We're not exactly freshwater experts, but I wouldn't us this on a freshwater setup.

Instant Ocean (purple bucket) is what I usually use for FOWLR, but, Tropic Marin Classic is what you'd likely want if switching to Tropic Marin :)

Just mixed some calc 600mag 1500 and its allways mixed this high there specs are rubbish
