Hello Manoj Sir is there any way i can record audio in mono from the sx900, one idea that i can think of is connect the sx900 to an audio interface then in the daw enabled mono recording in the respective channel, is there any other way to record a mono audio signal directly from the keyboard

There are some sites listed when we search in google for yamaha expansion packs. Not sure if they are trustable. I could not find a create style option in expansion manager. In which version did you see it?

There are two options. 1. If you go to the mixer, there is a slider for slider for style in the second page. That can adjust the style volume. 2. You can assign “Balance” to an assignable knob. This can control the volume level balance of the style and keyboard right parts

@@steventrieu17 it may work with factory styles because they are consistently balanced. But when you use custom styles, it will be difficult. The levels may be different in those. Even with the same level, the note velocity can vary. Some user sounds can have different levels inside those. So all these parameters will affect the level of user styles.
Thank you for your very helpful series on style creation for Yamaha. I suggest you do the same for the Medeli AKX10 keyboard which is very similar (some say a clone) to the Yamaha SX900 but at less than half the price. If you can convert Yamaha INDIAN styles for use on the Medeli AKX10 there will be a ready market for a "Styles Pack". I will be your first customer!!

This happens with the packs recently download from yamaha’s website. But some of the installations done be dealers earlier have these kits. Happens with all the models in the new packs

You cannot directly use it in the step edit mode in sequencer. What you can do is record in the quick record mode with the style and then go to the multi record and the step edit page from there

Only the supported versions will work on the keyboard. There are basically to versions of the style formats. Sff2 and sfd1. Sff2 will not be supported in older models. You can try converting to sff1 using some online tools

We can assemble a kit using drum setup feature. But that cannot be saved as a sound. The only option to create a custom drum kit is using the Expansion Manager
Very nice tutorial. I am trying to modify an intro2. I have an 8 bar intro3 and I want to copy just bars 5-8 and make that 4 bars intro 2. I copied intro3 to into2 and they are now both the same. Then I tried to bar copy bars 5-8 to bars 1-4. I did it for rythm2 and hit the execute. I went to bass and there is no execute. So the copy does not happen. What am I doing wrong. This is on an Yamaha SX900. Thanks for any help you can offer.
@@robertkeith9694 try copying from the step edit page. Select the bass track and press step edit. Once in the step edit page, turn on the multi select. Then select the notes and copy to the desired location
Once it is in the multi track sequencer, it is a midi file. You can bring tracks from different styles at different positions. Basically a style is a midi file. When you rename a .sty file as .mid, it becomes a normal midi file. You can take portions from it and add it to a midi file. It would be more convenient in an external sequencer than the on board sequencer

So we need to insert multiple user styles created by ourselves into one single track. There are multiple styles of say 1 bar, 10 bars, 15 bars etc which need to be inserted into multiple places within one track. We are not able to do it as we are not able to call the custom styles at these places. Which functionality shall we use for this?
@@roopakn7035 ok with only one drum track, it can be. Try the quick record node. There you can play the style and record in a midi. You can change the styles while recording. So multiple styles can be inserted into the same midi file

For intros to work fine for major and minor, you need to use different chord variations (cv). One for major and one for minor. Then map the cv to the chord type
@@rohanraut994 what format is it? If it is .cpf or .ppf it will not show on the keyboard. You need to first import it in the yamaha expansion manager, select the packs you need and export it as a cpi/ppi file which is the installer. That can be installed on to the keyboard.
For pad tones you need to connect SPD to the keyboard with midi while the style is played. To have the sounds with it disconnected, it needs to be sampled and create a new drum kit using the expansion manager. I will create a video on creating user drum kits for yamaha. There is a video already for korg user drum kits.

@Divady L'importation wav dans le style est en sx900. Pas dans sx700. Vous pouvez utiliser le logiciel Audio Phraser de Yamaha pour le faire. Pour importer des séquences de FL Studio dans des styles, vous devez l'enregistrer en tant que fichier midi, puis utiliser un logiciel tiers comme "Style Magic" pour l'importer dans le style. Hi Manoj, how do you step edit a particular section (like a bass track) of an existing style. Am trying to do this, and its always picking up only Rythm2. Thanks !
You need to select that track for recording(track would be in red color). Rhythm 2 would be the default selection. Press step edit once the desired track is red.

I use a Yamaha PSR 770, and I have a midi song in my PC's DAW. I was able to separate each sound on different tracks corresponding to the equivalent channels in my Yamaha's style creator. I also have separated the sections of the midi tracks I could use for the basic introduction and the basic ending. All this is stored in different midi files with different names. Now, can I use all these midi files by transferring them to the PSR style creator via the same USB cable or through a USB stick? I have tried to play the files on the PC and try to play the same in the style creator but it is not good. Using midi2style software is too complicated for me. Thanks.
You can use it with yamaha audio phraser software. Wav loops can be imported in it and you can export that as a .sty file. Then you can import it into the keyboard as a style

@Divady L'importation wav dans le style est en sx900. Pas dans sx700. Vous pouvez utiliser le logiciel Audio Phraser de Yamaha pour le faire.
Pour importer des séquences de FL Studio dans des styles, vous devez l'enregistrer en tant que fichier midi, puis utiliser un logiciel tiers comme "Style Magic" pour l'importer dans le style.

Hi Manoj, how do you step edit a particular section (like a bass track) of an existing style. Am trying to do this, and its always picking up only Rythm2. Thanks !
You need to select that track for recording(track would be in red color). Rhythm 2 would be the default selection. Press step edit once the desired track is red.

I use a Yamaha PSR 770, and I have a midi song in my PC's DAW. I was able to separate each sound on different tracks corresponding to the equivalent channels in my Yamaha's style creator. I also have separated the sections of the midi tracks I could use for the basic introduction and the basic ending. All this is stored in different midi files with different names. Now, can I use all these midi files by transferring them to the PSR style creator via the same USB cable or through a USB stick? I have tried to play the files on the PC and try to play the same in the style creator but it is not good. Using midi2style software is too complicated for me. Thanks.
There is no direct option on the keyboard. It’s possible only with some software tools

How to create a LIVE WAVE LOOP to STYLE file for SX Series..?
You can use it with yamaha audio phraser software. Wav loops can be imported in it and you can export that as a .sty file. Then you can import it into the keyboard as a style

I can create a video on custom drum kit creation with tabla and dholak samples. You can create patterns with that kit. Another option is to use audio tabla/ dholak loops. Will create a video on that too

Did you try enabling the captions? It will show the subtitles in the video. You can translate that to other languages too
