    MB manual recommends
    229.51, 229.52,
    229.61, 229.71
    for this model.
So if we use 229.71 (0W-20), any advantages & disadvantages ?

I will always recommend to research and understand the Oil Viscosity Charts and the temperatures the different oils are used. With this in mind and the different Mercedes standards, I have seen for this particular car that the only recommendation from Mercedes has been 5w40! I believe the reason is the small engine and the high heat temperature it creates. Additionaly the turbo parts create even more heat. I would not play with any other oil with this engine but 5w40. I'm using only 5w40 on these engines and so far they're performing really really well. 0W20 is way over too thin and will not work in warm or hot climate conditions. If you're going to use 0w 20 on this engine you need to reside somewhere cold and I would say North of the state of Pennsylvania or North the middle of the United States. Again you could consult with your Mercedes dealership or possibly call another Mercedes independent shop for an advice but the best choice you can do is again by following the temperature charts on the oil viscosity charts to realize which oil you will need to use. Just keep in mind in this case that these little engines being turbocharged and having extra 150hp horsepower that they shouldn't have will create a lot of friction in their metal parts and lots of heat so that in this case you will need to get a little bit heavier oil. Thinner oil in warm/hot environment will create metal premature wear and destroy the engine. Thanks and Good Luck🤞. Let me know if you need any other help...

What are torque specs for drain plug. And maybe any chance, specs torque for spark plugs. Thank you Sir.

I would suggest replacing the oil filter before putting back the oil drain plug, since after removing the oil filter, more old oil will come out.

This happens mostly on BMWs but not really on Mercedes. I have actually measured the leftover in the oil filter housing and it's such a small amount that isn't not really worth the hassle to open the filter first then drain the oil and then change the filter element at the end... Nevertheless, you can do it whichever way you choose. I am just here to share my experiences. Thanks for your support! Thanks 👍

You have very unique video, wish you can upload full version where it shows how to remove undercover. Maybe using vehicle ramps that DYI users can try.

@@UA-camSpecial. I will try to remember this next I am doing the oil change. Sorry sometimes in a hurry I forget to start the video on time before I take the covers out. They are actually very easy to take out as they only have 8mm bolts... Thanks 👍

Please DO NOT TELL me that you are using conventional oil in a Mercedes?! Or a different car for that matter?! The answer is NO NO NO NO NO AND NO AGAIN! YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR OIL BETWEEN 3000 TO 5000 MILES AND THIS IS WHEN YOU USE FULL SYNTHETIC HIGH QUALITY OILS! WATCH MY OTHER VIDEOS TO UNDERSTAND HOW BAD IT IS NOT TO CHANGE YOUR OIL ON TIME AND WITH BAD OILS FROM FAST OIL CHANGE PLACES! JUST UPLOADED A VIDEO YESTERDAY OF AN AUDI ENGINE WITH ONLY 100K AND THE CHAINS ARE GONE BECAUSE OF NEGLIGENCE AND NOT CHANGING OIL ON TIME AND USING CHEAP OIL! ALSO IF YOU USE CHEAP CONVENTIONAL OILS YOU ARE HELPING TO KILL OUR PLANET FASTER BECAUSE THEY ARE DERIVED FROM FOSSIL FUELS! SO PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY SACRIFICES WITH OILS AS YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR ENGINE PREMATURELY AND YOU WILL CRY 😭😭😭 LIKE A RIVER SOONER OR LATER...

Mercedes benzz says every 10000, and you say every 5000... who is right ????

    • @projectathos

First of all you can check here on UA-cam and online how all the mechanics are finding destroyed engines when people changed their oil every 10000 miles and now Everyone and I mean Everyone is recommending changing at 5000 miles or less! Secondly I worl with these engines and I see what happens when you don't change at 5000 Miles! So to answer your question - Do you want to save your engine and make you car run longer or you want to deatroy it?! There's No righr or Wrong! There's your car running and There's Your car is broken and you have spend anywhere between $10000 to over $40000 for an Engine Replacement! The decision is in your hands! Thanks and Good Luck! 🤞💪👍
