Gladius, Roman was the clasic infantry weapon. Spatha was the cavalry weapon. Spatha is longer.
I think iam gonna end up forging a long gladius for calvary use

Hey weren't romans notoriously sucky at horsemanship? Like i think most of their armies lacked cavalry so they used auxiliary cavalry instead. So i think you should keep a modest cavalry in uour army for historic accuracy. And speaking of accuracy.... I LOVE watching you miss your pilum shots xD
yes their own calvary was decent but they were to few in number so they augmented their armies with auxiliary cav from their vassals
