Nice machine for those who don’t already have several! Also nice bundle too but with the cost of living skyrocketing these days, too spendy for me. Hope you and your family have a great vacation!❤
I agree with the comment, "for those who don't have several" part. I have every Big Shot, Marquis from Diamond Press, also the smaller machine from Spellbinders. The Gemini II is nice but I don't need anything else for now.
Glad to see the new machine and that it seems to be working well. Glad that you like it so far. I saw part of Sara's presentation on it. She was extremely excited about it. For me, it's a no go for now. I already have too many machines, lol, and I need one that does steel rule dies, so I went with the Sizzix machine.
I absolutely love my Gemini II!!! I used the same paper and die you did but used the white plate, paper, die face down, plastic shim, metal shim and top plate. I did not use the magnetic shim at all. It didn't warp the paper, nor flatten out the linen texture. I tried it on some other intricate dies from Anna Griffin and the same sandwich worked fantastically. There is so much pressure that the metal shim instead of the magnetic seems to be the correct sandwich for cutting for me, at least. I love how quiet it is and that if I don't get to my plates right when they're coming out, it holds it without falling.
It looks like a great machine, but I will be keeping my Gemini Jr. I appreciate your sharing it, and have a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. Perhaps later I will order the new plates when I use up the regular plates that I already have, and which I already have a stack of.
I went back n forth with myself and I finally did the thing. I ordered auto ship to avoid regretting my decision later....my first electric machine. Well first electric of this type. Now I'm looking forward to Vianney showing us all the tips n tricks.
I have the Gemini already, I don’t see a compelling reason to get this one. Sara keeps saying you can’t run Jr. plates through the “old” Gemini because of the sensor but you can run them through horizontally, I do it all the time! Also, I was putting away an old trimmer in a cabinet and found a 12” kitchen turntable. I put it under my Gemini and it works great. The feet sit on the lip of the turntable but it swivels just fine. I’ll save my $300! 😊
Vianney, thanks a lot, now I really, really want this machine badly. Totally broke, ugggg. What a super machine, I have the Jr, the reg large size , but this one is sooo powerful Vianney, have a wonderful trip to Hawaii, is the whole family going, it’s Spring break. Thank you for the tutorial.
I am so excited about these plates!! They look like they are similar to the Tonic Tangerine plates and I love them - they last forever. She said you can use the new plates in the older machines so I might start using my Gemini Jr again (when I can buy the new style of plates).
It looks so nice but unless I sell my 3 Gemini die cutting machines, I won't buy it. I love the swivel plate underneath! So cool. I'm so glad you reviewed it before you left for vacation. It's not that I don't trust Sara's demo on it, but it's nice to see someone else use it. LOL! Have a wonderful time in Hawaii! It's my favorite vacation place to go! I love the Guava and Mango drinks from the ABC stores.
Thanks for taking the time. I wondered too of why a new machine when Sara said the original was all we ever need, I will have to search for her video. There are very nice features that if you don’t have an electron die cut machine you would be very happy to win this one.
So exciting. I'm mostly excited about the plates, because I'm keeping my original Gemini. I love it and it still works like a charm. Great new technology. I'm happy for everyone who gets the TS on Tuesday. It just won't be me. No room for every new machine that comes out. But when my Gemini dies, I'm absolutely getting this new one.
Looks like a great machine ….the auto ship looks awesome…wish Sara offered it without out machine too. Wish I didn’t have so many other machines cuz this one checks all the boxes…swivel, storage, flat top, quieter, and sides fold up love the colors…enjoy your trip 💜💜💜
Thanks for the demo..but am thinking “do I really need another electronic machine?” Have a safe and enjoyable trip to Hawaii. I don’t remember which island, but my family loved swimming with the dolphins . Enjoy!🤗🤗🤗
Wow, that was quick delivery! Glad it came before you left on your trip. I am on the fence about ordering this machine. Seems very appealing in several ways, but I don't really need it. Sara admitted in her Gemini II specific preview that she had not planned to develop another machine, but technology has changed so much she felt it was justfied. Also if you remember, the original one has the sensors (?) in the corners, so that was why the extender plate was needed for the foilpress to work in the original Gemini also the junior plates had to be inserted horizontally in the original, whereas this one has the sensor all the way across so junior plates can be inserted vertically. However, I did not hear her even mention the foilpress, which is back in stock on at least one vendors site here in the US and on the CC site for UK purchase. So no idea if it is meant to be compatible, so hopefully she will answer definitively on Tuesday. I hope you and your family have a wonderful to Hawaii!
@@VianneyCreates Yes, I heard it was being discontinued from several sources, but it is back in stock on Scrapbook and next to the name, highlighted in pink is says "new". Thanks for this video and happy vacation! I want not need the new CC 360 so I'll have to think long on it. As for what happened with your linen paper being smoothed out in your demo, I have had that happen to me on linen paper when I'm using both the Diamond Press Marquise and Anna Griffin Empress machine. Once you're back, you'll be able to try it on other paper. Thanks again.
Vianney thank you so much for taking time out to do this video; so thoughtful of you. I have the Gemini II machine in my HSN basket. 😂I’m trying not to buy another die cutting machine. Thanks again and enjoy your vacation with your family. 😊
Hello! Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and some examples Vianney. I will probably have to live vicariously through everyone getting this new machine. It will be neat to see this on Craft Day. --Kristin
Glad it’s quieter. My Gemini Jr is about ready to die, it’s the original model from hsn. Might have to check this baby out!! Thank you for the review, and have a great time in hawaii!!
The new Gemini II is pretty but my original works just fine :-) I have a Sizzix Switch to cut the dies & embossing folders that don't fit in the Gemini. They're both Great! There's a bunch of things in the Love Set! That's really nice. So I watched Sara's video on this release. She said since technology has changed they've "updated" the Gemini. The eye beams go all the way across, they updated the plastic shim but still don't cut into it, they updated the cutting plates with a new material and bcuz they can't be clear due to the new eye beams, they added the storage and the spot to hold media (iPad), the USB ports for convenience and she said the new color for Gemini is Raspberry.
I just bought it..I can't believe they finally made a decent die cut machine..I have all the others but I went though plates like every 6 weeks! I switched to Anna Griffin's machine because it doesn't warp plates as much..! I am excited for the new machine and HSN let's you try it before u buy it basically...😊😊😊
I will be very interested in a comparison between Anna Griffin’s Empress and Gemini II. Living in Canada, I don’t have access to HSN, and I have been struggling with very intricate stitching dies on my original Gemini for too long plus my various plates and shims were warping and wearing out way too quickly for me. The Empress was on sale on the Canadian shopping channel so I bought it and it cut those very intricate stitching dies like they were nothing through two passes, but that same intricate stitching die using my Gemini Original was taking me pushing the plates through physically with the thickest sandwich possible, plus it took MANY passes in various directions. It was an exhausting process, even pushing the plates a bit in the original Gemini to find a way to get this die to cut properly. It looks like this Gemini II machine has more power than the first Gemini. I have to say that I am LOVING the thicker magnetic shim and embossing shim on the Empress plus the plates don’t seem to warp as much. I do have the Foilpress so I will need to keep my Gemini for that unless Anna brings out a foil machine or depending on what happens over time with the Foil Press. I think that they are both great machines, everyone has different needs…. One giant issue for me with my Gemini and why I was blessed to get the Diamond Press Marquis was the over-embossing of the holes on the back of dies when cutting them with electric machines like my Gemini, so some dies, especially intricate dies like some sentiments are best done on the Marquis. I haven’t tried that yet on my Empress. I will be interested to see if that is an improvement on the Gemini II, that’s a huge pet peeve for me. I will be watching with great interest. Too bad the magnetic and embossing shims are not more substantial, hoping these plates last longer and warp less than those on the previous Gemini. No machine is perfect, it needs to meet your needs. I was hoping for one intricate die in this new auto-ship to try out the new machine. To me, this new machine has lots of power, so the accompanying dies and embossing folders should show the new owner what it can really do, not send some little outline dies and basic ones. Most dies now are pretty intricate and the average owner of a Gemini II needs to know what it can do. Fine for someone with lots of dies already but for a newer crafter, that may not be so easily ascertained with this Auto-Ship package at least to me. Here in Canada, we have to wait, but I am vicariously enjoying seeing all of the new products, and I hope that you are all enjoying them. Sorry that this is so long.
The other machine was great. I used my plates for months and months on end, only ever bought one replacement! I rotated when I remembered but never put too much through in terms of sandwich depth and even when they had warped a bit I just kept using them and they worked. Often people are putting more depth than is necessary. The recommended shim layers were more than enough for my machine and I could never use a magnetic shim, it was just too much pressure.
Hi Vianney 🙏❤️. That machine really looks like it is something that is very easy to use.👍🏻 It seems to work fast and cuts real good and embossed wonderfully too. I bet you might be using that machine when needed yes? Hope you have or are having a safe trip and thet you are having good weather too. God bless and please be safe and enjoy! Learned from another UA-camr there's an error on one of the stamps in the True Love Collection Heart Balloon set. It should read "Loved You...Always Have Always Will. She said to contact CC customer service to give them your address for the replacement stamp. I don't know if HSN gives CC the names of those that purchased the Gemini II or the collection separately. The last time there was on error on one of the stamps, I received the corrected stamp in the mail without contacting them.
Hi!! Thanks for the be video!!! Can you make one using the older plates, like from the Regular Gemini and the Jr.???? I'm curious to see if they work as well
It looks nice but I don't need another machine. I have the original gemini, the spellbinder, the gemini go and the Anna griffin small version and I have the sissix machine that I hardly use. I hope you can get the auto ship without the machine.
Hi Vianney, I’ve been out of town and just saw your tutorial. The link directly to the G II didn’t work but the other link I was able to get to the item. Not sure I’ll get it yet even though it looks and sounds great. Got so many die cutting machines so I don’t know. Maybe I can sell a few.
I am on the fence; but if I get it, I will definitely click on your link. I watched Sarah’s video on this last night. Having the swivel attached is a bonus for buying the Today’s Special. So is the club. I believe both will be $50 in the future. Same with the auto ship package (which is gorgeous). This would be my first Gemini, but I already have a Big Shot and a Spellbinders Platinum. (Might sell that if I get this.). Decisions, decisions. I have to say that I love the swivel! Oh, and Sarah had her iPad on that stand, as you thought. Have a fabulous time in Hawaii!
I know you must be crazy busy packing but thanks so much for doing the review. I do like the usb ports and she made reference to an accessory coming down the line. I figure a new foil press. Plus she also said junior plates don’t have to be place long was it can handle straight on something with the new sensor. Have a great vacation! ❤
TYSM!! I have a little down time right now (thankfully)! I understand CC discontinued the FoilPress...but if they make a better one...I would be happy with that! LOL!
I bought the crafters companion turn table for my Gemini pro when I first bought mine and it’s fantastic 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤debating if I’m going to buy this??? Possibly for the auto ship?????😮
where do we find the plates for this machine? I just like having a extra set on hand or can we use any brand? can we use the half size plates like we can with the larger cc machine and Anna Griffin's?
I have some Stampin Up 3D embossing folders. Would those work in this machine? Also would dies that came from Stampin Up and other companies work in this machine?
I’m loving this machine so much. I have too many machines but oh well! Thank you for showing it to us. It will let me preplan!💕😊 oh by the way, what are shipping charges going to be like for the 28th, do you know?🎉
Hi Vianney wondering if you had any problems registering your Gemini 2 or signing up for the club. For some weird reason I can’t do either with mine. I keep getting an error message. I have contacted customer service but so far haven’t heard back.
Looks nice!! Thanks for the unboxing and demo! I am also wondering if the foilpress plates can be used with this. Did it mention anything in the booklet?
TY! It did not mention the FP in the booklet, and as I understand it...CC has discontinued the FP. It probably fits though as it takes the same plates as the older Geminis. I would just wonder if it's made for that resistance. Hmmm...
I have a Switch🎉 I really like it! I have the original Gemini and it works just fine. I think if CC was reworking the Gemini, they should have made it so that it can cut Bigz dies and their bigger dies and embossing folders. They're cutting themselves out of that market. It looks pretty tho 😃
Thanks for your response. I’ve been thinking about getting a switch, and then seeing this one, I was debating. I don’t have any Geminis, so already having plates doesn’t change the equation. I read that the Switch has a simpler plate sandwich? How do the Switch plates hold up? Anything else to consider?
Can someone tell me the size of the metal turn table on the bottom of the Gemini.I missed the todays special and had to order the today only which does not include the turn table.
I just started card making around Christmas and got the Empress. I tried using the Gemini embossing folders, and they would not work. Then i saw a video of how to get it to work, a unique sandwhich. It worked 3x and fhe fourth, it popped the front flap off, breaking it, boo-hoo! Only one of many folders will work in the empress...Anna Giffin only. I was so sad. So, though very expensive, i ordered this new machine, after watching the Crafter's Companion video from yesterday about the 28th. About 1 am our time! I was worried it was too late. We are 3 hours later. I hope it handles them all. If not, back it goes. I was so disappointed with the Empress, but it does Anna's dues beautifully! I love her dies. I have a warranty, but doubt it will cover that damage.
I’ve had a Gemini and a Gemini Pro and sold them both. Way too noisy and plates needed to be replaced too frequently. Just too much pressure I think. Warped plates, cardstock crinkled, the marks from the bottom plate marked the back of whatever I was cutting. I bought an Empress and a mini Empress and love them! Still using original plates on both and love the magnetic mat that holds the dies on without taping them down. I use my Spellbinders for all embossing folders and the thick bigz type dies, does great! I recently bought a Marquis and use it on my desk for smaller dies and once I got the hang of the folders, I love it, too. This new Gemini looks nice, but I was wondering about the noise because the others were so loud. Also, wondering about the plates. The other Geminis were too heavy for me to move, this looks heavy. (I’m old 😂) The USB plugs are not a plus for me because the cords will hang when you try to rotate it. I think I just convinced myself to stick with what I have 😂 Good luck to you!
It did not mention the FP in the booklet, and as I understand it...CC has discontinued the FP. It probably fits though as it takes the same plates as the older Geminis. I would just wonder if it's made for that resistance. Hmmm...
The white opaque plates are used because there's an optical laser to engage the machine and clear plates won't work. Be sure to use the code in that little book as it covers the $50 sub fee for the craft club. The auto ships (6) are all similar and really pretty. Ck out Sara's recent video and will answer questions why she did a new machine (basically, it's technology). Enjoy your vacation!
Sarah was pretty excited. My checking account is in pain over crafting , i decided to go on a much needed fast, however i saw that video you mentioned early this morning. I agonized over getting another machine, but...the perks were good and i want to use the many gorgeous embossing folders i picked up. I discovered none work in the Empress. So, i bit the bullet and ordered the Gem 2 and will just really cut back. I don't need anything more, but their videos are irresistable to me. A few things i delayed, and they were gone when i went back. I see videos from a year ago, and you cannot even find some of those items anymore. I wish they had a shopping cart that would hold things for you for a week or more and warn you when it needs to be done now! It is just too much fun. There are a very few dies i have not liked...just not what i expected. There is one that cuts out every letter of a sentiment! That was terrible! Letters went everywhere, and to try to get any adhesive on them will be nearly impossible. I will never use it again. I will be so much more careful from now on.
The turn thingy only comes with the today’s special with the auto ship the machine will not come with it you’ll have to buy it separately if you don’t do the tds auto ship
You could not hear me reminding you that you did not have to reach behind to get the plates as they passed through the machine, just swivel it around. 😁
I need another machine like a hole in the head, as my Mom would say! But, I love the color & the plates that come with it plus it swivels! I may have to invest & find a place to see some of my other machines. Electronic ones work better for bi-lateral carpal tunneI. Watched Sara's video on this machine & according to her it was for the technology the reason for doing another machine. Could someone guide me as to where I can sell die cutting machines? I've never done so, so I have no knowledge as to where to start. Thank you ahead of time. Be well, be safe & TYFS

Have a great trip. Thanks
Hugs and love always, Sue M(Clearwater, Florida)🥰❤️🙏🫶🏻😊😘👍🏻😎❌⭕️❌⭕️
I am so happy for you this machine looks wonderful, but for me unfortunately i just couldn’t afford something that pricey.Have a safe trip and enjoy yourself.❤
@@deannapage8064 Good afternoon @Deanna Page. I understand what you are saying about wanting something but it being too expensive to get. So, I just watch Vianney’s videos and get to see how things like certain machines work and how she decorates cards too. Hope you have a blessed rest of your day. Hugs and blessings always, Sue M(Clearwater, Florida)😘❤️🙏😎🫶🏻👍🏻😊❌⭕️
Thanks for the demonstration….have fun in Hawaii….🎉😊
Thank you! 😃
sara said the ports on the machine are for something coming up in the future, also for your ipad...
Did you notice any warping in the white plates??
Hi!! Thanks for the be video!!! Can you make one using the older plates, like from the Regular Gemini and the Jr.???? I'm curious to see if they work as well
Thanks, happy Hawaii!
It looks pretty, but I’m not sold on it yet! It was kind of you to demo it before your holiday … have a fun x
Vinney the plates are white to pick up sensors in machine ❤
TY!
Have a great vacation.
See this is why I run some of the items I cut on ScanNcut though the Gemini 😂 all that pressure smooths out the edges
Yes, since she made no mention of compatibility with the foilpress, it certainly made me wonder if another foilpress is in the works.
That looks great. I bought the electric big shot when it came out or I would be tempted to buy this one❤
It would be nice if the machine is cordless/rechargeable so the swivel function can work well.
Waiting to see why need new one have all the other sizes
I had order second set of the auto ship
where do we find the plates for this machine? I just like having a extra set on hand or can we use any brand? can we use the half size plates like we can with the larger cc machine and Anna Griffin's?
I have some Stampin Up 3D embossing folders. Would those work in this machine? Also would dies that came from Stampin Up and other companies work in this machine?
How does the AG thicker embossing mat work in this machine please?
I’m loving this machine so much. I have too many machines but oh well! Thank you for showing it to us. It will let me preplan!💕😊 oh by the way, what are shipping charges going to be like for the 28th, do you know?🎉
@@DiEtta thank you! For all in the cart is good but do we have to wait to close our cart to get everything in it?
Hi Vianney wondering if you had any problems registering your Gemini 2 or signing up for the club. For some weird reason I can’t do either with mine. I keep getting an error message. I have contacted customer service but so far haven’t heard back.
Love the color, sleek new look, and swivel feature, BUT seriously spendy!!! No way to justify the buy.
Hmmm...
The machine is pretty but too expensive. The sizzix switch does the same thing but cuts thicker dies and it's cheaper. I say buy the sizzix switch.
Hi Vianney, it sounds louder than my Empress, is it? Thanks! Enjoy your vacation ❤️
It sounds loud, maybe quieter than the other models, but still loud! I think I will stick with my Empress, nice and quiet!
Yes it sounds louder than my Empress! I will stick with my Empress!
@@vickicolston5190 thank you. Good to know.
How did the auto ship work? Is there a charge for every shipment or is this part of the special on HSN?
Can you use the foil plates with this????
ENJOY YOUR VACAY!😊
It did not mention the FP in the booklet, and as I understand it...CC has discontinued the FP. It probably fits though as it takes the same plates as the older Geminis. I would just wonder if it's made for that resistance. Hmmm...
@@VianneyCreates Thanks for the reply, maybe Sarah will address it Tuesday
It seems a shame that they discontinued the foil press. Does anyone know if they are going to do an upgraded one of those too?
Have they announced a price yet
The turn thingy only comes with the today’s special with the auto ship the machine will not come with it you’ll have to buy it separately if you don’t do the tds auto ship
Does the foil press work with it I think she said it does????????😊
I want to know the same thing!
@@pbennett29 they are saying yes that Sarah mentioned it👍🏻👍🏻
You could not hear me reminding you that you did not have to reach behind to get the plates as they passed through the machine, just swivel it around. 😁
LOL! I'll never get used to that because at my work table...there won't be any 360-ability!! LOL!!
Will it cut the old thick (Sizzex) dies? How big is the opening?
I don't think so, CC has never made steel rule dies and they don't make their machines compatible to them.
Go power and emboss from couture creations does!
Hola Vianney: acabo de comprar la Gemini II atravez de tu link. Si puedes ayúdame en algo, cuanto cobran por dar clases de craft incluyendo los materiales. Pero usando mis máquina de cortar. Gracias por tu ayuda.
Not available in Canada.
Will this machine take the foilpress plates??
It did not mention the FP in the booklet, and as I understand it...CC has discontinued the FP. It probably fits though as it takes the same plates as the older Geminis. I would just wonder if it's made for that resistance. Hmmm...
🙄 I gave in and ordered it already 🤷🏻♀️
Hi how much is this machine please😊
Looks great but that’s a pass for me. Have fun in Hawaii!
Someone stop me from wanting this!!!!!!
LOL!! It's futile!! (;
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just slow down a little, would make it easier to follow you.😊
I'm sorry, I'm a bit of a fast talker. There is no consciousness in me slow dawn, it's ingrained.
