the "hold" to make his attacks stronger mechanic is definitely better than the one in pirate warrior 3 where you have to delay pressing the last button in the combo. my boy's definitely better here

Ace is broken in this game, against any giant character like Jack, Drake, Big Mom, Kaido. Do his air combo square (x3) then triangle, you WILL kill them in one hit, it's nuts
i agree with you even when you fight him as an enemy he is broken, especially if u play as giant characters, maybe because of the hitbox thing is huge for em

Hm. So unlike Sabo, where he got minor additions to his moveset, Ace over here gets a revamped moveset, and for the better. No longer is he inferior to Sabo in terms of gameplay. I’m glad they made him faster and made it so that instead of certain moves having charged versions, almost ALL of his versions here do. Of course, there’s the issue of being knocked out of it, but I’m sure his Full Force Burst mitigates that. Only thing is is that his Firefly attack doesn’t look like it has the same stunlock properties it did compared to the last game. Which is a shame because you could combo enemies with that into his Unique Action. Although that can still technically be done in this game. Big upgrade in his moveset for giving him more AOE attacks. Despite most of his specials being moves that used to be part of his moveset it still seems like it doesn’t affect him. Flame Net is probably going to help with setting combos up. Great Flame Commandment also seems to have better AOE in this game. His spinning flame tornado attack looks nice but looks difficult to combo into. And finally, he gets the same benefit that Luffy does when it comes to Conquerors Haki. Very happy that they made him and Sabo stand out more from each other rather than one just being a better version than the other.
In the flashback episodes where they set the grey terminal on fire and luffy and ace were trying to escape but were caught by Bluejam. Just as bluejam was about to shoot luffy ace saved him by using conquerer’s haki. If I’m not mistaken this was the moment they showed it that he has it.
