I just love how perfectly and flawlessly flat the gold foil lays on the nail and how the gold brush helps adhere it glad and not wrinkle it or bunch it all up or how the brush does not pick the foil up off the nail, like some other brushes and foils do that!!!

This is gold leafing foil in case anyone is curious! You can get it in silver and bronze and other precious metals too. I imagine Suzie is selling small amounts useful for nail art, because if you buy a leafing/gilding kit it’s more expensive and they give you a ton! But you can also use this stuff to gild furniture, home decor, anything! You buy kits that come with a jar of adhesive and a jar of varnish. It’s incredibly fiddly and tricky, but pretty fun to do as well. Lately I’ve been obsessed with figuring out how to get metallic accents on my resin art. So I’ve been comparing all the options (and gilding everything I own as practice lol 😅) It’s so much fun though! I hope gilding and stucco and all kinds of Baroque and Victorian decoration techniques make a comeback. Making something truly decadent and ornate with your own two hands feels really special.

Also now that masks are normal, wear a mask when applying so you don’t blow it around with your breathing. Finally I would do a solid gold on my ring or pinky finger because they get less wear.

Very helpful with nail art, especially foil. Speaking of foil. Yup. It likes to go places. Recommend cutting a strip and making 5 pre cuts out of that and putting the rest aside. they say not to gild a lily, but no one said anything about nails! That’s the awesome quality of real gold; it is hammered so thinly that it takes the shape of the gilded object perfectly, and the wrinkles are almost invisible. I hope Suzie revisits this golden opportunity one day and figures out if you can burnish gold nails 😙

Learned the hard way that the tacky layer isn’t enough by itself to make this adhere as pretty as yours did. Absolutely love it though. Next time I use it, I will most definitely use foil glue gel.
