King Farouk I’s downfall brought an end to the great years of Egypt. His history was deliberately badly distorted and was finally killed in Italy by those who carried the 1952 coup against him. His family was denied the right of burying his body in Egypt. They were denied for years possessing Egyptian passports. He was a great man. He dearly loved Egypt. He wasn’t a traitor as he was depicted. RIP ❤️
Gamal abdel nasser is the reason that EGYPT Cairo is not called the Paris of the Middle East because all the best writers and movie directors wanted to go and yes it was expensive to go there but it used to be beautiful but until one man who lived in the streets destroyed the country
King Farouk’s niece is my great grandmother but I am of Albanian descent my father told me that my great grandparents owned a big part of land in Albania and Kosovo but communism took it all from us... I wish I could one day reunite with my family on my Egyptian side I hope they are all well ❤️
Despite being an Egyptian this is the first time I see something like that about the Egyptian monarchy Because after the coup of 1952 and the removal of King Farouk they had erased everything related to him and the Egyptian monarchy
My grandfather was an American face man for him in 1944. Farouk loved sharpshooters and he was part of the army rifle corps. My grandfather learned Farsi from the court. He would bring women to his limousine at USO shows.
That's very interesting. What is a "face man"? Why did he learn Farsi in the Court instead of Arabic? I hear that Farouk's sister Fawzia was an absolutely stunning beauty. Did your Grandfather ever meet her? Thanks!

Farouk ( or the playboy as the British referred to him at the time) was more interested in gambling than in government. He was one of the world's richest yet the vast majority of his people were poor bare footed. Farouk didn't need propaganda to tarnish his image as the people who lived in the 1950s were the same people who lived under his rule and new well how the condition of the country was. BTW he was NOT the the first Egyptian to rule Egypt for thousands of years, that title goes to the first elected president: Nasser
In spite of the irony of Turkish music playing on this video, the first Egyptian ruler born on Egyptian land was King Farouk. He ruled the KINGDOM of Egypt (that was a kingdom for almost 7000 years). He was the first Egyptian ruler since 600b.c. when the Persians invaded Egypt. They speak Arabic only since 1750 when their original language was eliminated in favour of Turkish and Arabic by Kedevite decree. Egyptians live WITH Arabs in their country but they are not Arabs just in the same manner Native Americans are not English, Jamaicans are not English, and Nigerians are not English just because all of them speak English or even live with the British or Anglo-Saxons in some of the cases. Feel free to read any history book written in the 19th century (either by foreign tourists of your own Refaa Tahtawi who explains very well how Arabs were settling with Egyptians in Egypt making a VERY clear distinction between the two and I would like to note here that Algerians, Tunisians, Moroccans have never been referred to as Arabs either till Mr. Nasser screwed us all in the head with his Arabisation virus). I don't know how old you are, but your parents will remember very well that up until the 1970s-1980s not a single person in the North of Egypt understood one word of what Saidis of the South said.
