I have learnt more in this 2:40 video than in hours of videos around YT, unbelievable!
Straight to the point, so valuable contents!
I didn't realize I could hem knits just once and not double because they don't unravel! And I've seen the stabilizer used, but never understood the reason was to avoid tunneling!
I cannot thank you enough for your videos!

Your videos are always so clear and to-the-point which is EXACTLY what I want when looking up a quick tutorial on how to do whatever. THANK YOU! This was wonderful. I've wanted to create with knits but have been a bit stuck on how to do the hem and this explained perfectly. I appreciate the clear cut instructions you provide on every technique you share.

I am SO brand new to sewing, and just came across your channel today. So far I've been self-taught and have only done very basic projects so far. I took a sewing class - with this rumpled up little old lady, God bless her, so cute - but she didn't really TEACH us anything. There is WAAAYYYYYY more terminology and techniques and supplies and equipment than I realized was even possible - ummm, pretty overwhelming. I've watched three of your videos so far - and I appreciate that they're NOT 45 minutes long and get right to "showing" exactly what you're "saying." But oh my goodness you talk so fast, lol. I have had to rewind so many little moments, SO many times...wait, what's that? Huh? Did she say a "Walking" foot? Do I have one of those? Do I NEED one of those? And interfacing and stabilizer and double needles, oh my! Lol I'm not a TOTAL dunce, I have a MA degree, but definitely not in sewing. Haha Can you or anyone point to me someone/somewhere that would be a good place to start?? Like REALLY start. As a REAL beginner. I don't know much of anything but want to learn more about stitch types, stitch sizes, needle sizes and the how's & why's of choosing those; I think you also just mentioned something about foot pressure?? Whaaaaa?? I mean - I'm GREEN here. Seriously.
Your videos are filled with SOOO much information (flying by so quickly lol) but I'm having a hard time trying to digest everything you're saying while also trying to look at everything your showing and doing and naming and, etc etc etc. I think when I LEARN more, you'll be my go-to person for all of these great specific tutorials. But I also can't take these lengthy, draggy, way-too-much talking not-enough-doing, yawn-worthy tutorials either. Are there websites, books, other videos that might help? Suggestions? Anyone? Beuller?? Lol THANK YOU GUYS!

The hem on a child dress keeps turning up all around to the right side it’s so annoying would the stabiliser be the best solution ?

Should the interfacing be trimmed back afterwards?

It's fused to the fabric so I don't think it's really possible.

@@ProfessorPincushion with the interface, my fabric doesn’t stretch. Is there something else I could use?

When I hem knits I use my cover stitch machine.

Me too! I sew a lot of knits and use it a lot. It also does a chain stitch which is helpful.
