Tamarind Pre Bonsai Update July 10, '24 It's Starting to Flower!

My tamarind is flowering for the first time! I bought this tree from D+L Bonsai Nursery in Ocala, Fl. at the 2023 World Bonsai Day celebration. They have it every year on the second Saturday in MAY (I forgot to mention the month in the video). I'm not sure where you live but D+L Bonsai Nursery in Ocala Fl. has them for sale. Not sure if they ship but you might want to give them a try.

Nice!!!! Does this have thorns like the B. Raintree? I have something that looks very similar growing as weeds in my front yard under my shrubs. I have been wondering what the heck they are. I think I might pull some out and plant them up and see what they grow into. Yours is a gorgeous tree!

Thank you! Tamarind has no thorns. The leaves are also a little larger than the rain tree although they are both legumes so they look very similar. Since I don't know where you live, I couldn't possibly try to figure out what you've got growing in your yard. If you like you can email me a picture to [e-mail] and I'll do my best. My guess is that it is also some kind of legume since all legume trees have a very similar compound leaf.
