I couldn't agree more about sight reading. This is so important ! Especially if you are playing opera...
Opera - absolutely!!
So many tips on violin technique and master classes for solo playing, on UA-cam, yet so few tips on how to be better at playing in an orchestra. THANK YOU for this! Adult violin learner, reasonable sight reader from playing piano for many years, and with the experience singing in an award winning small a capella choir. But, new to violin and orchestra. Just joined a community orchestra and I can see that the skills needed are completely different. Follow up videos diving deeper into how to count, especially during horn solos that can sometimes run long or short to establish a mood, how to keep time when the conductor does not -- he's using his hands to manage dynamics for several key parties -- how to interpret a conductor's gestures, expectations about practice, etc... Any resources to learn how to be a better Violin 2 in orchestra would be really appreciated!
Thank you for your comment! I will definitely put your requests on my list for future content! Violin 2 can be VERY tricky!
Super tutorial of tip's

Very helpful. I have my first ever orchestra rehearsal tonight... not freaking out so much anymore after watching this.
Have fun!

Very handy tips! ❤️
:)
These are excellent suggestions!
Thank you =)
Hi. I have a question about left hand if you don't mind. I found it is quite difficult to keep hold down the 1st whenever I need to play the 4th finger, is that normal or it has something to do with my short pinky ?? I believe my pinky consider short, I mean even if I cut my ring finger one joint short it is still like 2mm longer than my pinky.
Hope I can get some tips about it. Thanks for your time & take care.
Hi InfinitePawer - I actually made a video about this, called "how to play violin with small hands" - it should pop up right on the home page of the channel. :) hope it helps
@@Violinna Another question if you don't mind. I have no problem to keep hold down my 1st while pressing the 2nd finger but become little difficult to do that while pressing the 3rd finger and even more difficult to hold the 1st when using the 4th. Any reason for that and how to solve it ?? Thanks first

@@Violinna Thanks for the offer but I can't afford the lesson consider my current financial situation.
