I say this a huge Radiohead fan. THIS is perfect. It reminds me of dream I had when I was a kid, when my sisters would turn the radio on while I was sleeping, and the music entered and altered my dreams. I'll never get tired of listening to this cover.
She defenetly goes with the flow, and not over it! 2:16 to 2:20 or so, I heard some Sufjan Stevens there! Which I think, makes your point aswell, since he sings WITH his music, and not over it!
One of my pet peeves is recordings with drums and quiet breathy vocals. When they try to reproduce it live, it's us sound engineers that have to break the news to them that it's impossible to boost a quiet vocal over the drums because there's more drums in the vocal mic than vocals. This sounds cool and all, but it's impossible to reproduce live.
The "For a minute there, I lost myself" section in this cover is absolute honey-covered perfection. Good lord is this a beautiful song, and this cover makes the contrast of sadness (first half) and happiness (2nd half) really come through.
Holy shit.... this is SOO good. It's expertly produced, everything is in its right place (no pun intended), Monica's voice is in the perfect range, the lighting and camera angles take you to another place... like others have said, this is one of the best covers, if not the best cover, y'all have done so far. I really hope Radiohead notices this because it's a fabulous take on this song.
This was insane, so cosy, so deep, with amazing arrangement, stunning vocal and miraculous atmosphere. Great job Scary Pockets, well done. I'd risk and say, that was one of the best covers in all music history.
The most brilliant and original part of this cover is that they make the quietest parts of the original, the most loudest and most dynamic parts of the cover. That makes this cover stand out so much.
I was just talking to a friend about how many covers just don't work because they are missing the tastiness of the original. In other cases, like this one, the musicians bring something new and tasty in its own way. Love it.
As a HUGE Radiohead fan I gotta say this was freaking awesome!! Love the funk vibe, the bass is awesome and the 80’s sort of chorus is just amazing! Great Job!!!! 👏👏
Hands down one of the top 10 songs from the channel. Besides the amazing arrangement as usual, Monica's voice is so incredibly soothing, it reminds me of the timber of Imogen from Imogen Heap!
Whoa!! Yesssss!! Scary Pockets, Monica Martin : shoe to foot as hat is to head. Guys, seriously, magic front to back - the whole way through, on every level: gorgeous! Thank you for being so incredibly funked up, down to the groove. It's just a fabulous cover that became a complete up-date! What a treasure!
@@ScaryPockets Bring back the Trading Cards!! Chookie/mate/CRIKEY: love seeing two great friends collapse in laughter and almost stick to their script (but they're too damn funny on themselves). Best Performance as Ozzies Transported EVER!!!
I cannot understand for the life of me, why this has less views than the average SP video! I must have watched/listened to it 30 times (no hyperbole)... it's absolutely amazing!
I didn't think I could love any of the artists involved more than I already do, but here we are. I really really didn't expect to tear up halfway through either, absolutely brilliant brilliant reimagining of this song - thank you.
At first it seems like any ol' studio performance and setting... and then the backlight shot drops in. That along with this whole cover was just magical!
Awesome! That bass drum sound is just faaaabulous!!! That visceral rumble like quiet thunder coming from the bottom of the ocean. Love it. The sound all around is great. And the song interpretation is great.
Crushed it like always! I'm undecided on the singer A-Roll/music video style edit. One of the things I love about this channel is the live feel + musician features.
I got recommended the Vulfpeck video with Adam Neely, and it was fantastic. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon listening to your other tracks. They're very cool but this one is easily my favourite!
I clicked on this so fast that I didn't even realise that my fave, Monica Martin was covering this! She nailed it of course. And good job to Jack and the Scary crew, feel like the production and creativity has really soared lately. ❤️
There's that perfect moment when all the elements just fit so well together and there is perfect harmony in all frequencies which brings on the good vibes.
Woah. Scary Pockets always has top notch production but this is next level work right here. More of an orchestration than nearly anything else I've heard you do, and this singer NAILS it, and this was a good one to keep the heart of the original arrangement. You guys are so good in knowing which ones to radically change and which ones to stick with. Masterpiece.
What a gem! I massively enjoyed this one! (Probably because I'm a big Radiohead dude). Your version is beautiful, also the video during the chorus is beautiful as well. Big thanks! Big ups!
My favorite Scary Pockets performance by Monica, hands down, is Thoughtless. It's an amazing piece. But this is still really good (as is to be expected of Ms. Martin). And Ryan Lerman's guitar solo really elevates this piece I think....simple and clean. A good complement to Monica's voice.
I love that you kept the original harmony of the song! I generally love your covers and the way you rework harmonies and chord progressions, but there’s something magical about this song and I wasn’t totally sure funk would suit it. This is just beautiful. I love and really appreciate you guys working your own magic in arrangement and instrumentation this time, rather than reharmonizing. Love this!
@@MikaelLewisify I meant I’m glad it’s not funk. I was apprehensively expecting funk, not sure it would really suit the song, but I’m glad it wasn’t (in this instance).

Every aspect of this clip is perfect. I love it so much. The stranger things vibe... how on earth did you guys think of it, its so fantastic and not overdone. The singer fits perfectly. A perfect lesson in not oversinging. Like buttah.
Right?? She’s the real deal

The way she articulates the word is amazing to me too. Really adds to the creepiness

I agree. This was awesome.
Which is something I say after almost every release.
Wow... that shift from subtle understated melancholy to synthy silky goodness was so unexpected and just perfect.
Wow! The care with the vocal recording is VERY evident. It sounds SO intimate... you can almost hear her heartbeat......
Please make more songs with electronic arrangements like this.
Without a doubt, one of the best on the channel!
more coming :)
AGREE!!
Agree with you
I can't stop listening. I think its my favorite cover Scary Pockets has done. Monica Martin is dreamy, her vocal control is incredible. 🥰🤩

For sure! At the first time I heard it I cried so hard. Masterpiece!
Can't get enough of those chorus lines. Gives me goosebumps when pumped out at 11. Sensational pipes and the team's rendition is pure paradise.
There is sweetness and sorrow in her voice, interpreted so beautifully, and the music is so great, it gave me chills
I love Monica. I love Radiohead. I love the asthetic of this video.
Yes.
I love lamp.
hurrrr durrrrrrrrr
That bass line is just TOO groovy!!! Love the references to the Radiohead music video you guys threw in
The absolute best Radiohead cover ever
The most brilliant and original part of this cover is that they make the quietest parts of the original, the most loudest and most dynamic parts of the cover. That makes this cover stand out so much.
I want to live inside the tones of her voice. Everything about this was perfection.

So true
Folks, the best cover of Karma Police I've heard. Your will power to keep putting out great music in these rough times touches many lives. Thank you.
One of my favorite SP videos. What a voice on Monica.... so soothing.
This is the kinda song that after it ends I need a few minutes to get used to being on earth again....
Might be one of my favorite covers you folks have taken on. Monica's voice on this is magical.

I adore the mood changing between verse and chorus. Bravo
When I hear more modern artist cover my favorites I start off skeptical but this time!!! I'll wear this out in the next few days. Simply beautiful.
I saw Karma Police + Scary Pockets and thought "this'll be good". Did not disappoint. Thank you.
Who knew Monica's old-school vinyl-sounding voice would blend so well with the electronic production
I’ve heard a lot of covers of this song and this may be the best.
Her voice is so beautiful and this arrangement is so match and have a good portions. Good job Scary Pocket and Monica Martin.
