I remember hearing this song for the first time at age 15. It touched me on levels I didn't fully comprehend at the time. 15 years later it still touches me. Beautifully done.
+Bruno Alves One of the best tracks I love the hidden track idea and she came up with it... she s the only one that I know offer... other awesome tracks 'Wake up' Not The Doctor ' especially live
Hey, that's Seal presenting Alanis in the beginning, and Alanis just happened to do a cover of Seal's "Crazy" 10 years later. And she said "Crazy" was one of her favorite songs growing up. And Seal said he loved Alanis' version. What a coincidence.
I used to listen to this in the car with my mom when I was a little kid, it was the very last track on the cassette, and I have always loved her voice. She is truly amazing.
I have a very vivid memory of the first time I heard this song. It was 2002. I was 3 years old. I had gotten sick from eating Strawberries my dads mom kept giving me (which ended up with me vomiting in my moms car) I passed out in the car, and then out of nowhere I hear this ROARING VOICE, It was this song. My moms friend had turned THE VOLUME ALL THE WAY UP over the car stereo, because this song is the very last song on the Jagged Little Pill record and you don’t know when it starts - it just does. And I immediately woke up and started crying. 👏😂 It’s actually quite funny now, but back then, 3 year old me hated my moms friend, and hated Alanis Morissette. 😂
O remember watching this live then spent weeks trying to find it then one night I played the CD to go to sleep and all of a sudden it started playing I was so excited I finally found the hidden track
just randomly thinking about this song, forgot the title. but it's coming back to me (the lyrics) and here I am. love this song. you can feel the pain strongly in the words.
Used to listen to this over and over, beautiful voice, my favourite ever Alanis song, sneaky though, putting it on the way she did!! Agree with others about the loud guitarist.
The chord progression from 'No Pressure Over Cappuccino" makes the whole performance. feel rushed and generally does not suit the song. This was always and should remain an acapella that showcases Alanis' powerhouse vocals.
I'm sorry but I don't think this chord progression is the same as NPOC. I've just listened to both songs and I've been playing this version since 1996 and trust me, the only thing in common is the open E and B.
@Marixpress2 i know of one she did for "music in high place" an MTV special back in the day. She was in a beautiful cave and it was just her vocals. That was the best version of this song iv heard but have the damnedest time finding it anywhere.
@Marixpress2 Go get "Jagged Little Pill" (the regular version on cd). Put it in your car or surround sound at home if you can turn it up a little. Go to track 13. May not be listed on the case, but it's there. It'll be an alternate version of "You Outta Know". Fast foward through it (i'm iffy on version and you can listen to it later) till you hear silence. A little further and the song will start. It sounds like she is singing while laying in the shower/ tub at the guy's house. It's beautiful.
Lo dije en su momento, lo dije en otra version de este video y lo digo aca de nuevo: Que ovarios esta mujer! TEMAZO escondido de Jagged Little Pill frente a millones de personas, genial.
Never heard this one before this performance. Not a fan of hers by any means, but this song and performance were just incredible the first time I saw it on TV.
loved the performance but when this orginally aired it was the 1st time i heard the song.... i had the cassette and this wasnt on it also my sister and i thought she was stoned by the weird blank stare
I love this song, but the guitar kills the emotion of the a cappella. Usually you can hear the pain in her voice, but the guitar becomes a distraction.... Still one of my favorite songs; gives me chills every time I listen to it...
@ernax ,that's why probably he left her because some guys can't stand smart women.....Alanis is an artist like no one.........as you said ,there is not comparison...Alanis all the way!!! :):)
This is my absolute favorite Alanis song. I am not a fan of the guitar except in the way that is drowned out the annoying MTV audience. And the camera got the worst angle. Was he trying to make her look creepy? It worked. Overall though, she's awesome. No denying.
my cousin says Ryan Reynolds made a good decision in leaving Alanis for Scarlet Johansen. In my personal opinion, Scarlet is nothing compared to Alanis' accomplishments, Scarlet is nothing but another cute cunt. This thing here has brains and beautiful in a unique kind of way. Time can go by and Alanis is still Alanis, Scarlet can be recalled for as "say, aren't you Paris or something?!"
i love them both. scarlett johannson is wonderfully talented. i dont think you should go around calling people 'cute cunts' anyhow. it's rude and unwarranted.
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY did she have someone playing guitar for this performance? YOUR HOUSE is a superb. The power of the words comes not only from the lyrics, but from the song being sung a cappella. There should NEVER being any instrumental accompanying this song. NEVER!!!
Wow no autotune no
Back round music no lip syncing just pure raw talent love her I love Canadian artists their the best Alanis,Shania,Celine,Avril
I remember hearing this song for the first time at age 15. It touched me on levels I didn't fully comprehend at the time. 15 years later it still touches me. Beautifully done.
Alot of people dont even know this song exists, its a hidden track at the end of THE CD
+Bruno Alves One of the best tracks I love the hidden track idea and she came up with it... she s the only one that I know offer... other awesome tracks 'Wake up' Not The Doctor ' especially live
I've seen her twice in concert. Fantastic show back in the early days
you right (-: I kind of find by luck
I'm 13 years late, but Alanis, you are astounding!
Hey, that's Seal presenting Alanis in the beginning, and Alanis just happened to do a cover of Seal's "Crazy" 10 years later. And she said "Crazy" was one of her favorite songs growing up. And Seal said he loved Alanis' version. What a coincidence.
I remember singing this all the time when i was a teenager lol .. I loved this whole album... brings back some great memories =)
I used to listen to this in the car with my mom when I was a little kid, it was the very last track on the cassette, and I have always loved her voice. She is truly amazing.

This song shakes me up the first time I listent to it. Today, it still does
I really need to see Alanis live and soon - FANTASTIC! I always forget how great she really is!
wonderful song.
i remember watching this on tv like it was just yesterday :( amazing
O remember watching this live then spent weeks trying to find it then one night I played the CD to go to sleep and all of a sudden it started playing I was so excited I finally found the hidden track
i was 10 when i first heard her sing.Until now i still love her.she is magnificent no other artist of this generation can ever compare to her genius.
This song always makes me wanna cry. This performance gives me chills.

Fearless
Everyone expected you outta know then she drop this and blew them all away
thats talent!!

Dave Hayes I totally agree!
I'm sorry but I don't think this chord progression is the same as NPOC. I've just listened to both songs and I've been playing this version since 1996 and trust me, the only thing in common is the open E and B.
i remember when i found this at the end of JLP... oh i loved it! she's amazing!
I really like alanis the best,
When you left I used to cry singing this song...
on the cd it gave me chills! SmileyD
Always one of the best
DE LAS MEJORES...

@Marixpress2

According to "This Grudge" Alanis wrote 11 songs about the guy she wrote "You Oughta Know" about. Pretty sure this is one of them.
Lo dije en su momento, lo dije en otra version de este video y lo digo aca de nuevo: Que ovarios esta mujer! TEMAZO escondido de Jagged Little Pill frente a millones de personas, genial.
Fuck she is amazing
me too.
Wow. Just 22 years old there - maybe even still 21.
What a gal. I'd forgive her anything.
Absolutely BADASS. Find me an artist that would do this now.
Recuerdo ese día de los VMAs 1997
LOVE THIS SONG AND HER SOUND CREEPY THOUGH
That's one of the best things about it!
Better without any instruments... Just her is perfect.
+Priscilla Williams I know pure magic my fav all time artist
Never heard this one before this performance. Not a fan of hers by any means, but this song and performance were just incredible the first time I saw it on TV.
2017!!!!
loved the performance but when this orginally aired it was the 1st time i heard the song.... i had the cassette and this wasnt on it also my sister and i thought she was stoned by the weird blank stare
that was fucking awesome!
she sounds better without the music, now THAT is true TALENT! I wish she would make more music!
I love this song, but the guitar kills the emotion of the a cappella. Usually you can hear the pain in her voice, but the guitar becomes a distraction.... Still one of my favorite songs; gives me chills every time I listen to it...
phenomenal vocal range
i love her voice so much! but i think she should have done the whole thing a capella, like on the cd.
@rep300
Nice! thanks :D
What does it mean "And I played your Johnny"? As El Debarge once said, who's Johnny?
*she plays a Johnny Cash CD.
Marita
It's I played your Joni as in Joni Mitchell.
Probably Johnny Mathis.
i think she meant Journey
This is how she freaking performs. No drugs required.
Love she played this instead of ironic
@ernax ,that's why probably he left her because some guys can't stand smart women.....Alanis is an artist like no one.........as you said ,there is not comparison...Alanis all the way!!! :):)
And this is live?!
beiber people watch this and learn
Isn't there a version that is totally acapella ?
This is my absolute favorite Alanis song. I am not a fan of the guitar except in the way that is drowned out the annoying MTV audience.
And the camera got the worst angle. Was he trying to make her look creepy? It worked.
Overall though, she's awesome. No denying.
This is sooooooooo my stalker ass. 100% me. My life to lyrics
I swear! What was happening with the guitar?!!
"Dear Alanis, I love you so".. But it wasn't my writing, it wasn't my writing.
my cousin says Ryan Reynolds made a good decision in leaving Alanis for Scarlet Johansen. In my personal opinion, Scarlet is nothing compared to Alanis' accomplishments, Scarlet is nothing but another cute cunt. This thing here has brains and beautiful in a unique kind of way. Does anyone have sheet music for this (piano)? I NEED it for an audition! Thanks!!!
would you forgive me love...if I am a stalker?
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY did she have someone playing guitar for this performance?
YOUR HOUSE is a superb. The power of the words comes not only from the lyrics, but from the song being sung a cappella.
There should NEVER being any instrumental accompanying this song. NEVER!!!
@BobbyJD123 Check my answer to him/her to see if this helps you.
amazing but you can tell she is high as hell
She's a stalker O.o
