How would you compare this to the PV-9662 that you once had? I got the impression that one was higher end. I have a similar 9661, and it seems to work good. However, the display on the front of the unit is a bit dim. That seems to be a common issue among those Panasonics.

The newer Panasonic vcrs can rewind a tape very quickly!!!!
I look for old broken vcrs on eBay and I try to fix them!
