Sounds great Paul. Obviously lots of great watches at this price point, but I would buy it again tomorrow, without hesitation. A true Rolex that doesn't shout and scream; "I'm a Rolex!!!". Would love to hear back from you if you decide to get one..!
Initially i was bummed when they released the black and white OP39s a few months after I got this. I have since come around and realised I made the right choice. As you say the blue was lambasted when this was released as a juvenile addition to Rolex. But they are so subtle and really just add a bit of sportiness. The grey is classy, different and so changable. The only real 'weakness' is not having the Explorer clasp. Something you can add if you really wanted to I guess. (I considered trying to get a fake Rolex glidelock, but haven't found a seller). Dope watch.
I just ordered mine from Chrono 24. Originally, I was going to get the blue dial, because I sold my OP 36 in blue to get the 39. In my search, I fell in love with this rhodium dial, because it is so unique, yet versatile. Do you know if Rolex makes any other model in this color?
Have I been wrong so long?? I was certain this color way was ‘Dark’ Rhodium. Incredible colour that also pops up on the stunning Datejust 41. Not seen a ‘light’ Rhodium Rolex…
I will admit this was absolutely a concern for me too. Perhaps the main reason for delaying the purchase. Having worn it regularly a few months now I can say I have really grown to appreciate this design element. In this colorway the watch is very grey. I find the pops of blue just bring a little more life to the face. Viewed from about 1 metre away, they are barely visible. Again though, just my opinion. Thanks for stopping by Sorin.
Not convinced about the blue dots. I have tried in the blue dial and did like it, I have tried on the black and loved it.....will have to try it on to appreciate it. But may have to get it as I can’t track down a black dial watch
Got my Rhodium, due to the sunburst effect, it is sometimes silver, black and grey depending on the angle at which light falls on the dial ! The blue pips add a lot of character to the dial. It’s watch porn !
@@MrChickster12 Absolutely try to get one on your wrist. I was really nervous about the blue. Then I put it on... now I actually like them a lot. All the best.
your bracelet is not adjusted correct, the clasp should be centre on your arm, looks like links were only taken out from one side, maybe take one from each side, also it can be adjusted in the clasp itself, but you need the tool.
@@worldofcraig They did this when they sized mine. I went back twice to have it changed (and adjusted) to two different ADs in America and NZL - both tried to argue with me that the lopsided way was correct.
I am sick of you new school watch buyers wearing watches that are too big on your wrist. You should be wearing the 34mm version not the 39mm. If you disagree, simply watch your own video.
Well thank you for stopping by, and for leaving your comment. I am going to politely disagree with you however. Nobody should be wearing anything other than what they like the look of, and feel comfortable in. You might prefer the delicate look of a 34mm, but that certainly doesn't appeal to me, and likely many other athletic (whatever that means) 6' 3" men.
@@worldofcraig Craig, when you go to buy a tailored made suit, you just don't wear it however you like, it should be proportionate to your body. Please ask the advice of others and stop encouraging this madness of wearing watches that do not suit ones wrist. I do not argue with ignorance.
@@worldofcraig Ignore him, so many weirdos on the internet looking for something to hate on 😂 Good idea showing how the watch looks in realistic lighting settings
Excellent video. Thank you. Considering buying one.

Got the same one today ! Absolutely classic !
You enjoying your Rolex a year on?
Really good video, all reviews are in perfect studio light. I was missing the "real life" scenario. Good job!
Many thanks for the kind words.

Rolex makes this same OP 39 in grape and blue colors as well as in black and white with different hour markers.
Hi TypeSly, I think there is a Rolex Datejust 41 with rhodium dial! Very similar at least...
Yahctmaster rhodium is underppreciated
I thought rhodium was just rhodium? There is a light rhodium dial as well?

@@worldofcraig You’re asking the wrong person I’m afraid Craig. I’m no expert in these matters. Maybe someone could enlighten us! 😃
…Dug out the box and papers… this OP39 is indeed officially referred to as colour ‘Dark Rhodium’… 👍

Thanks Ronan! I will pop by the AD and get them to correct this. Appreciate the advice.

34mm? Where are you from? The 1950s?
