I've met Shawn. The man is legitimate. He means what he says and is all about it. I stand with him and fully endorse what he is saying. If you ever get the chance to talk with him, I hope that you do so, and that you are honest with him. Every time I've spoken with him, he has been happy to have a conversation. The man is genuine, and I don't say that about a lot of people. Tariffs are only helpful in a limited number of circumstances. They do end up causing the end consumer to pay more. Could this increased cost possibly compel the company to move production to a place where we would want it by making their foreign product less competitive? Sure. However, if it drives up the price of other competing brands, because the product keeps selling, that can increase the general cost to the consumer on that product, therefore increasing inflation too. Tariffs are not always the right tool for the job.
