LET ME BE THERE is one of her best songs. She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice and her legion of fans will never forget her. I HONESTLY LOVE YOU will break your heart. Enjoy.
Incredibly beautiful softness and innocence to her voice. The Bee Gees wrote a song for her called Come On Over. Her early stuff was fantastic. I Honestly Loved You, Please Mr Please and this song.
Excellent that you reacted to one of her greatest tunes.. She was a true Angel on Earth, and now has returned home.. so Thank you and great reaction.. try "If You Love Me, Let Me Know"..
released in 1975. my favorite song from her. makes you think. her voice range and tune are amazing. her voice reaches above the normal soprano's highest note and can drop to a low range tenor (watch the video from Wings of Pegasus to get the true beauty of her voice). Another great voice added to the Choir of Angels. RIP.
Olivia was huge in the 70s and early 80s, I think you can see now , why we loved her so much, she was beautiful inside and out. In the 'beauty school drop out' scene the singer there is Frankie Avalon, he was a teen idol in real life, back in the time Grease took place.
I this dude's got a good looking wife I agree with you she's she's a pretty thing I bet I bet yeah she's she's sexy all right I just leave it right there
Well I think that she could go way far she's got to talk talk talk I want to hear this good looking baby talk she needs to be like Amber for my Rob Squad and she needs to talk like Lex from Brad and Lex and then she'd be blowing everybody's doors off
This is one of my fav songs by her. I've been a huge fan of hers since her first hit in the USA, 1971, "If Not For You". She was a huge music selling artist before "Grease". She released songs in several genres of music throughout her career. She is/was fabulous! And she was one of Karen Carpenter's closet friends through the years. She was an honorary pallbearer at Karen's funeral in 1983.
People use that word "underrated" too much and too freely; you cannot say that if you were alive in 1970 and a teenager; WE KNOW BETTER, we were there for the hoopla and the awards, and Grammys and ALL. That's when she became a major STAR which led her to the Grease role she played in that 1978 movie, believe me, she has never been considered underrated; just because you are young and don't know any better.
@@mlane8980 I’m 60. I was there for her start, and her rise to fame. And I absolutely think she was underrated as a singer. People have always loved her songs, but no one ever really talked about how truly great her voice was. Her range etc..But thanks for the compliment. Lol
*~ ASIDE: OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN was a huge pop & country singer from the early-mid 1970s through the early 1980s (5: #1 Billboard Hot 100 Singles; Several Top 10 Country Hits). Global sales of over 100 Million. ONJ was already a big pop star by the time she filmed "GREASE". The big solo female singers of the 1970s: LINDA RONSTADT; DIANA ROSS; BARBRA STREISAND; OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN; DONNA SUMMER; ARETHA FRANKLIN ~ Also major female artists/stars: CAROLE KING; JONI MITCHELL; STEVIE NICKS (FLEETWOOD MAC); ANN WILSON (HEART); GRACE SLICK (JEFFERSON AIRPLANE / STARSHIP); HELEN REDDY; ROBERTA FLACK; NATALIE COLE ~*
I remember in 1975 watching a John Denver Christmas Special on TV, she was one of the guests, Valerie Harper was another, sadly, none of those aforementioned people are with us today. UA-cam has it: John Denver Rocky Mountain Christmas (1975) - Complete
You may find this impossible to believe but she won a Grammy for best country performance early in her career so you should listen to the song “if you love me let me know”
Grease 2 is the first movie I loved enough to go multiple times in the theater. I went to EVERY showing (all 5) in my small town theater, and watch it at least once a year. It is a part of my youth that I love, and nobody can tell me this is not a great movie.
This is also impressive since this is a live recording. This was a pretty big hit way back. I grew up with her music, and your description of her voice being "angelic" is a perfect description. One correction to your title - it should be "Have you never been mellow" instead of "ever"
"I Honestly Love You" is one of her biggest and best songs - won Record of the Year and Best Pop Female Vocal Performance. She always closed her concerts with it. Please react to it. Absolutely beautiful.
I distance got a good looking wife she just needs to talk more I tell you what she needs to do she needs to be like Amber from the Rob Squad and talk like
I had never heard of a flutophone before, but I remember everyone having to play recorders in school, which are very similar. Also, I don't care what anyone says. Grease 2 is very unfairly maligned. It doesn't have the classic quality of the original, but it's directed competently, has excellent choreography, memorable songs, and solid performances. Especially from an angelic young Michelle Pfeiffer.
I'm not sure but I believe this song was one her early hits released before she did Grease. The song she sang on the swing was Hoplessly Devoted to You.
"Have You Never Been Mellow" and "I Honestly Love You" are not technically considered country songs. They are pop songs that crossed over into country. Whereas "Let Me Be There", "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)" and "Please Mr. Please" are considered country-pop that crossed-over from country into pop. She was actually considered both and not pegged to one genre or the other. If you look at her early awards she was winning in both the pop and country categories. Plus her music was so diverse she was played on many radio stations across genres. She was everywhere and I wish reactors would react to some of her early songs. I love both her pre and post-Grease music but the reactors are completely ignoring her wonderful pre-Grease songs.😀
I think you are referring to Olivia's prime time TV special called "Olivia!" that aired in May 1978. Her guests were Andy Gibb and ABBA (their first prime time TV appearance in the US).
Gotta do her song, "Sam". Also, if you're able to react to her live performance of "I Honestly Love You" from her first appearance on the Johnny Carson show, you will absolutely be floored! I don't think there os a separate edit of that performance but if you go find "Olivia Newton-John Makes Her First Appearance | Carson Tonight Show" you can probably do your own edit of just that song. It's the last number she songs on the show.
Be forewarned that "Saturday Night Fever" is not a feel-good movie, other than the dancing and the music. It is a gritty drama featuring various ethnic neighborhoods in Brooklyn, New York. and rivalries. There are instances of people using the N-word and also a sexual assault.Just wanted to give you a heads-up. John Travolta is amazing and was nominated for an Oscar for best actor for his role as Tony.
Loved Olivia Newton John!!!!!RIP💔 Chod would you please introduce D to Life Without You live from The Capitol Theater? Next week on August 27 will mark 32 years since we lost SRV💔💔💔
Most Midnight Special performances were lip synced, but others had taped music while the vocals were live. In this you only see a couple of musicians which makes this mostly taped music soundtrack that she sang to.
¿Por qué los americanos piensan nomas en el churros de grease, cuando Olivia ya era una gran cantante? Lo mejor de Olivia para mi fue antes de 1975, previo a su ida a EEUU.
Beautiful song! But you need to correct the title ... "Have you Never Been Mellow" ...not "ever ". You can hear it correctly when she sings. Just thought you should know.
you must try Suspended in Time, many in these lyrics are so absolutely 100% Livvy and a tearjerker - for me her best song ua-cam.com/video/GvYl_omr9Zg/v-deo.html
You should react to Eric Clapton doing some blues like the song “someday after awhile”- ua-cam.com/video/o1cCLFIYaOw/v-deo.html Also “why does love got to be so sad” by Derek and the dominoes- ua-cam.com/video/Qe9MAVgkpjc/v-deo.html
Grease 2 is mostly a waste of your time, not bad, but not really great either. What is great is Dirty Dancing, music, story vibes all wonderful. Watch It

Grease 2 is not a very good movie, but one that people who were young enough at the time probably enjoy. I have a fondness for it, but it doesn’t stack up to the original at all.
Olivia is amazing, but you two are probably the worst reactors I've seen, among 20 or more that are common on UA-cam. The female part of your team is the worst. You guys really need to step up your game, seriously.
Beautiful lovely Olivia, I love her ❤️
It's actually "Have You Never Been Mellow." Love Olivia, she was one of my favorites, she was huge before Grease.
Taylor swift of her time
Her voice gives such a sense of purity makes me eyes water!
The song by Olivia that I keep coming back to is " Sam"
Let me be there and Please Mister Please two of her first country hits.
"Have you ever been mellow?", yep, every time I hear this song. I would listen to this when I felt like I was going to flip out.
her voice gives me goose bumps no lie.

Hopelessly Devoted To You, I think is the song you were thinking of.
Yes Saturday Night Fever is worth watching, just for the music and Travolta dancing.

Let Me Be There!! It’s an absolute must!
This song hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 3 years before Grease. She was also nominated for Best Female Vocal Performance for the song.
I think she sings Hopelessly Devoted to You on the swing. One of my favorite songs of that musical.

Terrific Lady, who had no negative press. I’m gettin’ “mellow’, as soon as I can find my “lighter”……..
Fun movie .good songs. Lovely voice.

This is so beautiful ❤️ rip Olivia 🤗❤️ thanks for taking me back 💞 sparkling Dee, too cute 😁
Dirty Dancing is a great movie and Dee will love Patrick Swayze!

This song is better
You should listen to some of her songs from Xanadu; her backup band is ELO.
I Honestly Love You is her best ballad.
Her hits go back to the early 1970’s. Check them out.

Olivia came to the US and had some country hits including this one.

Hate to correct anyone but it's 'Have You Never Been Mellow.'
Common mistake made by many.
Yup you are exactly right the songs name
There is also a Solid Gold Show where she, Andy Gibb and Abba perform together.
I think you are referring to Olivia's prime time TV special called "Olivia!" that aired in May 1978. Her guests were Andy Gibb and ABBA (their first prime time TV appearance in the US).
Xanadu which is Olivia and ELO is a great soundtrack
Watch only Grease 1.
Like no other.
Blessings.
Olivia wasn't in Grease 2. Magic was from Xanadu which had phenomenal music and dancing. Loved Livvy in that. This song was early 70s.

She and Andy Gibb did several duets on the show they hosted Solid Gold.
Olivia was not a host of any show. But she did sing with Andy "Rest Your Love on Me" on Solid Gold in 1981, I think.
You should check out the duet she did with Cliff Richard called Suddenly…use the video version sooo good!

Recorder is the instrument kids learn in school.
There's a UA-cam video of Olivia performing a tribute to Karen Carpenter
the best thing her eis you get to her hear sing live with a live orchestra. rather than lip sync to her record....
Most Midnight Special performances were

Grease 2 not worth watching
Dirty Dancing great movie, great music
Just like your T-shirt says “Never”.
Have you Never been mellow
Beautiful song! But you need to correct the title ... "Have you Never Been Mellow" ...not "ever ". You can hear it correctly when she sings. Just thought you should know.
She was so popular my gay guy friend had a crush on her! 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
I don't care what anyone says but Grease 2 is it great movie!!!
You need to dive deeper, it amazes me how many reactors haven’t dived deep into ONJ , late 60s to 80s she had such a diverse career.
Thought this was a different song. Yes grease and dirty dancing are good movies..
This isn't about Grease she was a famous singer before and after Grease
@@DonnaLombardo-n5i yes. But grease did help her career. Sweet lovely voice. Not exactly my taste but appreciate her gift.
Man, I had a crush on her when I was in HS in the seventies!!
This was my first ONJ album back in the ‘70’s.
Grease 2 isn’t worth it.
The Mrs. will love the movie dirty, dancing all women do.
you must try Suspended in Time, many in these lyrics are so absolutely 100% Livvy and a tearjerker - for me her best song ua-cam.com/video/GvYl_omr9Zg/v-deo.html
Could you please react to the "National Anthem of STRAYA (to the tune of Hey Ya)" ? - I like it and I'm sure you will like it too.
Don’t waste your time with Greace 2, no one can top Olivia and John
She was America's girlfriend.
NEVER!😊
NEVER Been Mellow.. Have you NEVER Been Mellow. 50 + years later and people still can't read or hear it correctly. Sheesh. Show the lady some respect!
You should react to Eric Clapton doing some blues like the song “someday after awhile”- ua-cam.com/video/o1cCLFIYaOw/v-deo.html
Also “why does love got to be so sad” by Derek and the dominoes- ua-cam.com/video/Qe9MAVgkpjc/v-deo.html

The only thing I don't like about this live performance is that the drums are way too low in the mix.
Don’t watch Grease 2, it’s garbage🤣
Grease 2 was terrible. Dirty Dancing is fantastic.
*~ NOT watch "GREASE 2" (Not nearly as good as the 1st GREASE) ~ Watch: "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" instead ~*

It was back in the days of real music ,not that rubbish they write these days
not worth watching Grease other than the original.
Grease 2.......SUCKED. Don't bother. And that's coming from a huge Michelle Pfeiffer fan, too.
Not Live! Please
Grease 2 was awful. It's a waste of your time.
Grease 2 is not very good.
