Hi Dan, this series is looking super amazing, I couldn't believe you announced it would be open! Looking forward to the rest of it. One question I thought you could cover in this particular episode: for how long do you recommend storing these bottles after open? This might be information that one could find online, but seen the recommendation from a champion like you would be more reassuring, because I assume you'd use them while they keep the relevant flavor profile. Just placing them in broad categories like "should last a couple of weeks after open", "should remain flavorful a couple of months kept in the fridge" and so on would already be extremely useful. Thanks a lot!
Hi there! Thank you for the kind words, I hope you are enjoying the videos so far! I would personally keep all spirits indefinitely and have never experienced significant degradation, liqueurs can get a little flat or messy after a few months but should be fine in cocktails for a long while, and vermouths / fortifieds should be treated as wine and stored in the fridge, especially once opened.
I really appreciate this video, it is a great introduction to various spirits to try before figuging out personal preference, those can then be used to compare against new additions to find a new favourite. It would be even better if each of the spirits was more clearly named, or the list had a time stamp, because some of them are difficult to find, and I can't figure out the name of the grappa for example.
Thoughts vodka - Amos Owens craft vodka - Saint Gérmont vodka - Dima's vodka gin - Lincoln Steampunk craft gin - Votanikon craft gin - Topaz run - Haysmith London Gin rum - M&S light rum (hints of vanilla) - Old Hopking dark rum bitter liqueur - Campari - Aperini Superior coffee liqueur - Brettos coffee liqueur vermouth - Discarded cascara sweet vermouth - Cocchi sweet vermouth - Otto's Athens vermouth mastica - Roots mastica - Skinos mastica Mastica is from a Greek island. I'd never encountered mastica until I was served a cocktail at HoReCa during the Athens coffee championships. The aroma is as though walking through a pine forest. The taste I cannot describe, as nothing compare with.
That's a cracking line-up! How do you find the Otto's? Some of my most trusted bartender friends (specifically Greek ones) swear by it but I have yet to try it!
Hey Dan i love this video! 1 technical thing - light. For my taste background was a little too saturated compared to You. With light reflected on glass of bottles behind it takes my attention from Your face. I love that you are wearing dark shirt, cause it makes great contrast with background. I want you to know rhat its only my opinion, and I think You probably have it all thought through. Your content is on really highest quality from knowledge to production, and it's really pleasure to watch you and learn new things from You. Love youe stuff
Thank you so much for this, it is really helpful! We’re aiming to improve the quality with every video so appreciate the kind words and feedback! Hope you enjoy the rest of the course, although it is already filmed so hopefully the background isn’t too distracting in future videos!

Your voice is way too low volume. Can you increase it please? At least as loud as the intro, but even better would be both louder.
