Well, since i dont spend a lot of money on other things, like fancy cloth and shoes, holliday trips, restaurants etc... I think my plant hobby is worth the cost. After all, we do need something, some hobby or interess, to brighten up our days, don't we? 😊
Absolutely! We all spend money in different ways. I'm very similar, don't really spend much elsewhere... (other than actual bills and things I need to pay 😒), so most of it goes towards plants or plant related things. However, trying to be more mindful of spending and plant collecting/caring this year.
Was that your weekly water use? I use about 1/3 less than that, depending on the season. It's too difficult to keep track what each plant needs but I use the same container so I know how many I'd emptied, as you have. I have iron plant stands or hangers. One is a tall standing hanger meant for outdoor use, which was the most expensive. I'd say the pots themselves have had the highest price all together. My plants are probably the least costly out of all these you named, because I've been selling some propagations on occassion, so they can pay for themselves.
That's a great idea! Sell props to fund more plants 💚 I agree, pots can be expensive, on the upside they should last forever (unless dropped!). I would say my water use is every 1-2 weeks, like you said it is hard to keep up with every individual plant's needs, so I make a point of going round with all the water every 1-2 weeks (or 10 days or so) but I'll top up ones that need more, like the little plants that dry out quicker or sometimes some are just thirstier plants and look/feel like they need a top up.
