As someone with an autoimmune disorder we definitely take precautions when sickness is up in our area. Wearing a mask out in public, avoiding large crowds, and showering as soon as we get home. That's not even all the time. Just during sickness peaks. Poor Evie what you experienced was extreme. 😂

oh my gosh. I am someone who is severely immune compromised and that is even like wayyy over the top for me and my mom! Ugh that is an insane experience for Evie and I am glad she got out of there! I agree that everything should have been addressed and discussed upfront! Even if there was someone who like me and many others have compromised immune systems that should have also been discussed up front. The entire situation is just so wrong and deceiving. Good on Evie for handling it as well as she did! Even for me personally who has to wear masks and had to even before the pandemic, I still don't wear them over the top amount of time. If I'm in a large crowded place I do or around other family members that have traveled and haven't seen in a while. Never wore them in my house (except for when we had a family member in our house test positive for the virus and I had to because of my chronic and progressive genetic diseases). We take precautions for me, but that is even just a few times out to wear a mask, and be self aware of what and who is around me. That is just insanity in my opinion. I feel bad for those girls like they are just going to grow up to be terrified of the world.

As soneone who works retail (cashier at a grocery store) and worked during the pandemic. I'll say this. In the beginning it was crazy. I did wear my mask at work (up to 8hrs at a time) when it was mandated because I have asthma. It wasn't easy to wear them. Still to this day I have people come through my line with a mask on. I don't say anything about it because I don't want to potentially get them upset enough to complain to mangement. I have seen very rarely people with a mask on in the car alone. But that house is a whole level of being afraid of germs. I'm glad Evie is safe.

If the situation occurs again, it's ok to ask why. I would find the answers interesting at the least! I will say something about being a germophobe or similar; you are preventing your own body to handle the normal bacteria and viruses that exist, no matter how clean you think things are. There is a very valid reason for letting children play and even get dirty in that it allows their bodies to create natural defenses against these germs, many or most of which are not that serious. If you live in an extremely clean environment you don't give your body a chance to develop those defenses.

Seeing kids being forced to wear masks - Always by moms (never dads) - Makes me so sad. The kids always look like they're in pain and so unhappy. I'm talking about places like Target, in the evening, when the store is kind of busy. If somebody in those families has legit immuno deficiencies/compromise its not the time to be in a busy store even with cloth masks. Cashiers at Target do it too, multiple of them. No clue what it is about Target that brings out the insanity... I don't see this stuff anywhere else anymore. I don't get how this isn't considered child abuse. Even at the start of the sickness I was never paranoid, never kept my kids from their friends, etc.

They could also have a disease where if theu get sick they are high risk of dying. You just never know! If i had a family that was sick id take percautions too! I have a friend with cancer and my dad died of it and i no we had to wear masks during some treatments so id imagine a stranger would make someone more cautious

Evie, as soon as the lady asked if you minded putting on a mask, you should have said "Yes, I do mind." You should not have put up with this all day if you were uncomfortable. Especially since there were other adults there to watch the children. You should have walked out.

I kind of feel bad for Evie experiencing that lol. It sounds like they’re more OCD than a cult, and prefer things a certain way. I’m confused by them just by listening to this story lol.

That family should of said upfront these are the requirements. Why did they think it’s the norm and not to discuss. They are in the minority. How many hours did Evie end up staying and what did she say to them about not coming back again?

Oh my goodness yeah I am glad you’re OK but during the contract I feel like the lady should’ve said stuff instead of just making you take random stuff and change and the stuff she had to do. I feel bad for those kids that when they get older, they will definitely be traumatized And will be afraid to touch everything. I know that Covid did so much for all of us but that’s too much to be wearing a mask in your own house but you handled the situation very well EV crazy wild story I can’t even believe it myself.
