Nepalese people are the bravest but peace loving happiest people i have known so far in my 12 years of world travel. Love from Texas. Planning our next visit this oct.
BTW honey hunting is common across hilly regions of Nepal, it's not just that place. Although maybe not that specific type of honey for reasons. People who can't afford sugar in Himalayan regions still go honey hunting or try horticulture.
Been 20 years since we left Lalitpur, Nepal. Back in 1987 Eric Valli had published "Honey Hunters" and NG printed his great images. Fond memories of the NP people.
only in some places in certain seasons, the effects are because of chemicals in the plants that flower then, in most cases rhododendron i believe. But this happens all over the world not just Nepal, like turkey greece africa and even some cases in america. A lot of cultures used to eat that honey and is still used in some places as medicine for example.
Life goes on. Its your part whether you simplify or complicate it. Nepalese people are not very rich in terms of money but very happy with small things. One can also sense how spirituality is deep rooted in nepalese mindset and how it has helped them stay strong and happy.
As a bee keeper myself, this is pretty freaky to see his suit and how there must be many entry points for bees, as only one could lead to multiple stings
The guy: “if someone falls off the cliff we assume they didn’t have enough knowledge or they didn’t know what they were doing* Me, not even 2 feet above the ground: *S P L A T*
I like how they assume that eating honey makes them "stronger" even though they don't know what it really does it's just sweet and provides some medical properties
The poor bees probably thought "ahh...finally! A place far away from everyone. This is great." And then just looked on with a dumbfounded expression as they watched the human climb up, like "son of a bi..."
Sorry bees we have to take your hive..
Bees: "aww..alright"
This is how peaceful they are in nepal
Lol😂

Also consuming too much wild honey in a single time can be deathly too 😁

I have been to this place and watching it as an episode in GBS made me supppperrrrrr happy. All hail Nepal!!!
hello really love your videos
Human's passion to discover & destroy to satisfy themselves is just.. intense.
That one guy at 1:03 looks like he been getting stung everytime for years. Never gets away without a few stings in the face a day.🐝
Like always. Great story, great video. Cannot expect more than this
Watch the Honey video by Vice Asia it's the same place vice just did it better.
Now that's true bravery!
Respect from nepal🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
They are just simply super humans
This reminds me of that scene in The Jungle Book
I remember an hour long documentary about this in the 90s Discovery Channel, man I miss those documentaries so much
So life risking
Theres a much longer version of this from a much older documentary channel. It's called Psychedelic Honey Hunters of Nepal, for those interested
♥... Thank.❄.You...♥

This is insane. What a story 👏
It's written in our destiny to watch incessant UA-cam recommendations videos for ever
My Nepal..
My Pride..
So the jungle book really wasn’t exaggerating it.
The real honey is the friends they make along the way
What a man does for his honey.
Proud to be Nepali ❤️
Such height, gives me the jitters. My palms would sweat, heart beat would jump.
When you can speak the language you realize that they simplify the translations and skip over things ;~;
it may sound stupid, but i think it's hard to believe in the translations, they could edit to manipulate the content
ye tru, same with the chinese videos for me x)
As a bee keeper myself, this is pretty freaky to see his suit and how there must be many entry points for bees, as only one could lead to multiple stings

Is it better than cultivated honey,or organic mother honey?

The poor bees probably thought "ahh...finally! A place far away from everyone. This is great." And then just looked on with a dumbfounded expression as they watched the human climb up, like "son of a bi..."
Maybe they can cut a chunk from it so the bees have half of their home?
