Thank you for this food tour! We are heading there in a few weeks and found your video. I am already making a list of places to visit while there based on your video! Really enjoyed your video!❤
I'm a local and can attest the places and items they choose are spot on. I enjoy going to Garage Bar when they have brunch. Everything on the menu is amazing and there are several local retail shops within within walking distance. Ollie's and Dizzy's are beloved by locals (lots of nostalgia), but my favorite burger is at a hole in the wall, Bambi Bar. It's got a perfect crust and flavor on the burger, and you can add any typical topping you like. Bambi Bar is where a lot of public crawls start, so plenty of not-yet-drunk entertainment. 😂 Hi Five donuts are amazing, but also consider Nord's bakery. The 2 specific donuts to get from Nords is their Caramel Bacon and Bavarian Cream. Alton Brown gets these when he's in town. There's also a nice coffee shop next door that I go to directly afterwards. For BBQ, hands down is Bully BBQ. Yelps top 100 restaurants in the USA last year. It's right outside of Louisville in Goshen, but their prices are cheap (makes up for the drive) and they don't cut corners on anything they make. EVERY item on the menu is delicious, but I highly recommend their ribs, greens, mac & cheese, fish and fresh cut fries, chili, or their Bully baked potato. For liquor drinks, do not miss touring Copper and Kings distillery, and their rooftop restaurant. Also, if you're into microbrews, my faves are 3rd Turn and High-Wire, but most in Louisville are pretty good. Feel free to reply back if you have questions. Happy to help. 😊
Born and raised in Louisville. Appreciate you guys hitting some of the best spots. We drove to Nashville a couple months ago to try local spots down there!
@@Smoothjazzsundays Indis...Yeah. Maybe I just never met a ton of Chicken King fans. I had more people recommend chicken at Barbara Lee's Kitchen, but they closed.
Hi guys found you today on my recommendation list and I watch this one being that I lived in Louisville. There were some places I haven’t been before so it was very informative. I subscribed to your channel so I can go on adventures with you guys. Have a great day. Lisa
This is the best review of Louisville I have ever seen. I have seen several. I am a Louisville native and I am so impressed with your video. You have done your homework!! I was so impressed and surprised that you knew the history of the foods and you selected places that have a long standing history or that is particularly novel or specific to Louisville! Good job, with the history , maps, and the inside scoop. You hit a lot of the historical places. Don’t forget the Hot Brown next time. Blue Dog Bakery, Nords Bakery , Jack Fry’s, theatres or concerts at Louisville Palace on 4th street it is beautiful. The Rathskeller at Seelbach Hotel is beautiful and breathtaking architecture. The Cave Hill cemetery is free. Col. Sanders and Muhammad Ali, along with other celebrities were buried here. It is a beautiful cemetery where people come to feed the fish and ducks. Come back and see us!!
Thank you so much! Clint's family is from Louisville so we had the inside scoop a little bit :) But we will definitely have to check out these places you mentioned next time!! Thank you for watching!
@@jayp1509born and raised in Louisville and completely agree with you. I’ve always pronounced it like King Louis (Loo-ee) ville. Thats how the French pronounce the name of the person the city was named after.
For Burgoo you need to go to Anderson County or Owensboro. I live in Louisville and Marks is the lower end of Burgoo. 100% agree with you on the Bonnie and Clyde’s, and Wagners picks.
You have to try Frank's Meat & Produce. Their hot menu is different for each day of the week and all of their food is awesome, but their pulled pork sandwich is the best in town. Their burger is probably the thickest patty in town also. Great local food.
This isn't just a good guide for out of town guests. There are a lot, and I mean a lot of us who live in the suburbs who just don't go downtown very often (I usually only go for UofL games) and I think a lot of us don't know what we're missing. You've also got me wanting to visit that Ollie's Trolley. I haven't been to one since before you guys were born and even though I'm a native Louisvillian I still haven't been to Dizzy Whiz yet even though I've heard about it my whole life. I do enjoy a good Hot Brown and wonder if you've ever tried a Hot Brown pizza. There are many local mom and pop pizza places and local chains that offer that variety. I'm biased because Hot Browns are one of my favorite dishes but I think the pizza version is pretty good too. BTW even though the suburbs are filled mostly with national and regional chains you can still find some pretty good local places out here too.
Thank you! Louisville has a lot of hidden gems and it is so easy to miss places like these, in your own “backyard.” Next time we are in Louisville, we will for sure be hunting down a Hot Brown Pizza!! 🤤🤤🤤
Bonnie and Clyde pizza and wagoners were great choices. But the rest are questionable. I’ve lived in Derby for over 70 years and eat at all these place and many more. Lees chicken is the best Bambi bar for hamburger
Is it possible to use a napkin when testing food bites? The hand to chewing mouth is a bit repugnant. (Here we go...) Ribbet. And, after featuring your dog, not showing him participating is off-putting as well. Class up, folks!

Thanks so much! Thank you for watching :) Hope you enjoyed Nashville!
Sad yall didn't come to visit me at Nord's Bakery, the #1 donut shop in Kentucky, not just Louisville. Ask for Lindsey. I'll hook yall up!
Nord's is my favorite bakery in Louisville. Best Long John's and Pecan danish.
we will add it to our list and be sure to stop by next time! Thanks for watching!
Great job y'all!
Thank you so much and thanks for watching!!
Another place to try next time is Mike Linnig’s. Next year will be their 100th year in Louisville. Really have great seafood 🤤
This was on our list, but we just didn't get to it!! Definitely next time. Thanks for watching!
@@strangetravels u missed out
Only Louisville food video I’ve seen where anyone went to chicken king, you get some points for that
It was worth the wait! Thanks so much for watching!
Yeah, the Chicken King stop as the selection of Louisville chicken was odd. But interesting. I haven't eaten there in almost 20 years.
@@AVCentral not really odd, most Louisville locals will tell you chicken king or Indis has the best fried chicken in the city
@@Smoothjazzsundays Indis...Yeah. Maybe I just never met a ton of Chicken King fans.
I had more people recommend chicken at Barbara Lee's Kitchen, but they closed.
@@Smoothjazzsundays Nope. Been here my whole life and I don't know a single person that would recommend either of those places.
I’m a Louisvillian - thank you for this nice review of my city!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great video thanks for taking so long I know that there hasn't been a video in a while hopefully not the end

Glad you came to Louisville to enjoy the spots. I love how you hit some of the lesser known places like Morrison Deli.
You were in front of Often Seen Rarely Spoken murals there. Some acknowledgment?
amazing, we had no idea! Which one? We'll add it to our description and definitely tag them in anything we post!
Nice vlog
Thank you!! And thanks for watching!
Next time you’re in Louisville I’d recommend Oskar’s Slider Bar and also Derby City Pizza
thank you for the recs and thanks for watching!

Schempff across the bridge has been open for over 100 years that is a cool place too
Sorry you did go to the Brown for a hot brown

If you are every in Owensboro, KY you have to try Burgoo there they use Mutton.
Awesome! I’ve been told we need to check out the BBQ there too!
Surely these two are from Kentucky. They pronounce the word "Louisville" perfectly. If you're not from here, that's almost impossible.
Clint is from Kentucky! :)
Facts 😂
Technically, they mispronounce Louisville just like everyone who lives in Louisville. I mean, his name was Louis, not 'Louul'.
@@jayp1509born and raised in Louisville and completely agree with you. I’ve always pronounced it like King Louis (Loo-ee) ville. Thats how the French pronounce the name of the person the city was named after.

Penny and Pearl Bakeshop have my favorite cookies. Try the Crème Brûlée cookies!

Will give Mark's high marks for their BBQ, though.
I'm impressed you got Ollie trolley fries and green chili wantons
You should come back.Go across the walking bridge to Southern Indiana. Schimpff's is a must!
Good to know, we'll add it to our list!
@@shopcatt643 we are travelling to Jeffersonville and Louisville this weekend. Where would you recommend for breakfast?

my grandma made benedictine for me my whole life
there used to be tunnels from the seelbach to the river (ohio) so Al Capone could secretly come and go and sneak back to Chicago

Clint is a big pickle fan but I can't stand them!! One of the few things I don't like🤣
I will not watch your video no more, you eat in front of your dog and didn't even give him a bite. 😅😅😅😮😮😢
