I wouldn't say working against unless I was fighting Varroa with treatments. I don't treat and do not see higher mite numbers with done frames installed. If mite numbers were higher, it would increase selection for Varroa resistance
A couple videos back you mentioned possibly making a video about your queen breeding program and how you choose your stock. Is that still in the works?

I do not. They are simply to produce more Drones

Sounds like the bees are suffering cause you got too much on your plate, I would hire some help or reduce your numbers!
