In this video, we'll be taking a close look at the new C-Fly Faith Mini which was just released the other day. It has its good and not so good things about it but in the end, is it worth the buy in 2023? You'll have to watch the video and see for yourself.

any better drone out there for the circa 200$ price point and under 249g category?.
this seems to be the only "best under 200$" drone i've found, and in many reviews the reviewer usually just recommends spending the additional 150$ for the DJI Mini 2 SE, which is way more than what i am willing to spend on a drone that i will only use once a week in Airsoft battles...
this CFLY Faith Mini drone usually sells for 140$ with 1 battery or 190$ with 2 batteries...
I agree. For under $200 this is the best mini alternative with a true beginner-grade camera for those on a strict budget, or just not interested in spending $150 more on a DJI Mini SE with Geo-fencing.
@@DroneSyndrome I have no hands on experience with this drone but it looks ok. DJI Tello is a good budget drone. This cfly, some ppl got dud models with motor or software problems and we're unhappy with warranty service.

Would be really interested in seeing the footage run through DAIN, a free frame rate smoothing A.I., it can boost video from 15fps to 30/60fps.

DAIN only supports Windows not Mac unfortunately. I did try it with another one that is similar to it but it creates banding and slight warping. I think it only works well with really high resolution video.
Great review/preview. Some peculiar choices for this drone. I really would have not bothered with 4k for this drone. 2.7k 30 & 1080p 60 was the way to go. 😑

Hello so the camera only records in 4k 15 fps and 1080 25 fps? No 30 fps in 1080

Yes, they did (well, sort of…) They added a 2.7K at 25fps option but the video resolution is very poor.

I got mine tday but when the camera connects after like 1-2 seconds it freezes up on the last frame it was on idk what to do the drone other from that flies perfectly

There is no option for 1080p @ 30fps on the Faith Mini right now.

I have my honest opinion at the end of the video if you watched it. In short, it’s a very cheap low cost drone with a 3-axis gimbal, good motors and very good RC/FPV transmission. The camera is ok in 2.7k but in 4K it’s not worth it.
They should have excluded the 4k 15fps and focus on 1080p 60fps. What are they thinking?
Yes, or they could’ve just focused on 2.7K @30fps and 1080p @60fps. It looks like they went with a very cheap chipset which probably can’t handle higher frame rates im guessing.

I lost a lot of money on this drone.
After less than a month of use, the remote control broke (it no longer connected the phone);
I discussed with the seller (RC Going) and the manufacturer (C-Fly) to obtain the spare part under warranty: I just wasted a lot of time and they made fun of me.
I purchased a new remote control on Aliexpress.
Upon first use, the drone melted due to the heat given off by the faulty battery (the battery was the original one with only 5 or 6 charge cycles).
So I understand people (myself included) who don't trust this brand at all.
The drone is beautiful and apparently well built but the quality is terrible.
Not to mention the camera produces really poor quality photographs and videos.
At the first use you are enthusiastic and satisfied with the product but as time passes you know the sad reality: the product is poor and the manufacturer is highly not recommended.
Yeah, I understand your frustration my friend. That is crazy that yours melted like that, not fun for anyone. I also don’t know why you were not able to get a replacement from them under warranty. Sorry you had to go through this experience. I really don’t know what to say... They (C-Fly) need to do better that that with their customers or they will soon be non-existent in the market and no one will trust them anymore. Hopefully they will have done better with their new upcoming version. 🤷🏻♂️

Have you tried to recalibrate the RC? Turn off drone.... turn on remote button and Fn button at the same time until you hear two beeps... then turn of RC and turn on drone first and then RC.
This is supposed to help fix the gimbals/joysticks control issues. Try it to see if it works and let me know.

I dont know if you will see this 1 year later but i just got one and it wont turn to the left or right so its stays looking straight any solutiuons
Try recalibrating the RC and try again like you see here: ua-cam.com/users/shortsp_648sM5o8o?feature=shared
if that doesn’t work something might not be working on the RC and it could probably have a defect in the joystick gimbals or an issue with the ESC, etc. I couldn’t tell you unfortunately...

@@Aaronbrewer567 That really sucks, I hope they send you one that actually works, if not, save your money and get yourself the Potensic Atom its worth every cent in my opinion. The C-Fly Mini 2 is good also but its a hit and miss with them.

I can’t say because I don’t know what the issue stems from originally. Maybe post a short video showing your gimbal problem to see

I believe this one and the i9 Max Mini Drone are the same thing. Am I wrong? I just bought the i9 Max, I flew it because a friend has it and I liked it much for the price.
Yes their the same but the C-Fly Faith Mini is the original brand and design. The i9 Max is a rebrand of it, so it’s not original.

The 15 fps is rather stuttery. I think it will be better to use the lower resolution with this model. I'm getting one of these to check out new locations before I risk flying a more expensive drone there.

I think it is. They still need to do a few firmware upgrades to it to make it better but at this cheap price, it ok.

Yes, I agree. Like I mentioned in the video, this is not the final released version, so the ones released to public will have new firmware and be much better in 2.7K

Hi! Can you connect this drone with mobile phone who doesn't support 5 ghz wifi? Respect from Croatia
This is a good question. The RC connects directly to the phone so there’s no need for any WiFi signal but the phone is used to receive the FPV video feed transmission which operates under the 5ghz signal frequency, so I believe that you do need a phone with 5ghz capabilities. All smart phones these days have it.

So received the drone
there are 2 issues… it don’t save photos or videos to card or phone.. and when flying moving the forward joystick and the drone goes backwards.. if I hit the same joystick a little more forward then the drone goes forward…. As it should… 🤷🤷 contacted my seller see what they say .
@@betto79 Really? That’s strange. It shouldn’t do that. Can you post a video on your channel showing these issues?
@@betto79 you need to make sure you give the app permissions for photos and video. Also, you have to format the card first in the drone not on a computer. Try this and let me know. The only thing I can think of is that you have it in mode 1 and not mode 2 which switches the joystick commands in reverse.
@@DroneSyndrome so the phone has given permission for photos and video, still nothing, and the remote control is in mode 1 for USA mode … so its defective… it also looks like the firmware has not been updated..
when i see dji packaging especially the box is more exclusive.dji is benchmark for another drone company

TBH, I was expecting more from this drone.
It’s one of the the first test samples made so it lacks all of the features that the release versions will have. I wish I was able to upgrade it but this sample is not upgradable. 😕

TBH, I didn't expect anything from this drone. 😅
That’s what I want. A unified platform a single frame or even different sized frames depending on your needs with interchangeable internals and modular shells to house everything. And it had to be upgradeable down the line as new tech is introduced. Wait this kinda sounds like FPV’s already… but some upgradability in drones like this would interest a lot of people I think. I’m currently looking into adding IR/laser collision avoidance sensors from eBay onto my Atom SE. Attaching them and powering them up with onboard power is easy. Getting them to interface with Potensic’s hardware and software? Well I was hoping someone from Potensic had lots of patience to explain 😅

No it can’t. You can fly it with just the RC but not with just the app.

@@driewiel I don’t think I understand you. You said the joysticks don’t work in follow me mode??... This is a GPS camera drone that connects to an app to get an FPV feed like Hubsan, Fimi, DJI, etc. You can fly it only using the controller but it would be in Attitude mode with no GPS. And yes, these cheap drone manufacturers need to do better but at this price what can we expect?

No, it cannot be upgraded to the Mini 2.
Drone seems good for the price... but c-fly still making wierd FC. its not stable enough... drone looks like bouncing when you leave the controller sticks
Like I said in the video, this is test sample not the official release version with new firmware on it.
With compass calibration it is stable.

im still not convinced,i personally know their quality control is terrible and their support is non existent,i would rather invest my money into another budget drone company before c fly would get it again,now if they were to send me one to review i would but again i would be brutally honest in my findings and not hold back with my opinion
I hear ya buddy. They have a lot of making up to do I order to build back customer confidence. But to be honest here, I think that they might have something here with this Faith Mini... the new firmware they put out improves the image quality and the transmission stability is pretty solid from my experience with it. I think that it has some potential and for the price they are asking, it could be a low cost option to consider. As for their CS... only time will tell. I hope they get it together.

Yes, I mentioned this in the video. Maybe in a future version (CFly Faith Mini Pro,) it will have a cooling fan, IR sensor on bottom, better processor chip, motors, battery, etc. But it will not be priced so cheap.

The version I show in the video is a test sample and is not the public release version which has been upgraded and has better image quality, etc. Watch Captain Drone’s video review of it. He has the new version. 👍🏻

Hi, the video is very bad to watch, it hurts my head to look at it, it seems shot at 4k 15 fps instead of 2.7k 25 fps with many slow movements.Was it set correctly otherwise the videos this drone makes are unwatchable.
Ok, I understand but did you actually watch the whole video? Because I explain that this version only has the 4K /15fps option-the 2.7k/25fps is missing. The newer firmware version has 2.7K/25fps. I’ll test it out when I can and show the results. 👍🏻

Yeah, unfortunately this one I reviewed was incomplete and the firmware hadn’t been updated yet with the 2.7k /25fps option so I had to do with what I had... The truth is that the video is very poor in quality. I wish they could’ve gave it a 30fps option and tweaked the camera a bit but it looks like the processor chip is cheap quality which doesn’t help the Sony sensor at all. Yes it is. It now supports 25fps which is slightly better. But now there is a new C-Fly Faith Mini “Pro” versión coming out soon which will record in 4K, 2.7K @ 30fps, and in 1080P at 60fps. It will also have a better camera. This version will hopefully be better.
