Just watching your Studio 5000 Essentials playlist, there is always something to learn somewhere. Looks great as usual as all your other videos. At the recent TechED 2019 I attended in Orlando, FL one the thing that I took away from many the sessions I attended and one session in particular about things such as protecting your work, your application development IP, and device security was the importance of PLC security in today's world of Industry 4.0 transformation. This was a big thing being conveyed by Rockwell Automation the importance of device security. Which is importance to me, and my group at my company. In the past they haven't considered security much at all in the interest of easy, quick access to the PLC. But the thing that Rockwell conveyed was that it's important to protect the logic application currently running in the PLC as well unauthorized access and someone changing the program. Yes, only so many persons at a plant site has the ability to change a program, but I always say, you just never quite know or a disgruntled employee. So it was demonstrated that you can password lock the PLC from unauthorized access via password protection. As well going even further to lock parts of the logix file where even the program coding cannot be fully seen and thus could not be changed without the proper password also. Those things are important to protect unauthorized access to a PLC and logic modification and will and is becoming very important things to pay attention to as the OT and the IT Enterprise Network is slowly but increasingly becoming connected. As well a simple thing such as just also removing the key from sitting forever in the PLC Controller for some dip shit to just flip it the wrong way and shut everything down.
After years woking with Siemens and Beckhoff, I'm going back to AB PLCs and your playlist is really nice! Thanks a lot!
