This was honestly one of the best explanations for the use of a UDT. I have a question, how do I assign a UDT to a physical I/O channel, so hypothetically how would you link the Start_Button and Stop_Button to actual DI's?
I like the way you explained BOOL and REAL with the type of input it was. That helps understand what those are used for other than the number of digits in a row they represent.
Trying to make a udt for a GSV using the WallclockTime my members Year, month, day, hour, minute seconds, microseconds UDT name date_and_time. when I try to download I get (Error in member data type: Data type is invalid) please help.
trying to toggle input on, but it will not turn on and the date table will not receive a 1. This CLX 1756-l71 PLCv21 has in the rack with 1756 IB16, 1756 OB16, 1755 IB32, 1756 ENBT/A 2. But there is also an PV 1000HMI also in these cabinet could this be use instead of real field device connected. Trying to follow a class but not matching when I look at rack. any help thanks. Darren

Do you create the Machine tags on local or controller tags?
in this example I did Controller scoped tags but you could do local/program-scoped tags also.
