It would’ve been nice to be able to get this one. But mine was canceled. The process of acquiring a target exclusive is such a displeasure. I genuinely no longer get excited over any toy announcement coming from companies that have a significant amount of store exclusives. I stick to companies that do a simple preorder that makes my collecting hobby fun and enjoyable.

I think Todd finally made the perfect or close to perfect Batman body mold between this and the 3 Jokers version. Kinda hope he uses this going forward for comic Batman figures.
12:27 Apart from boots, belt and head, they look exactly the same, I think Batman Rebirth will be very close to that, hopefully with a head similar to Year Two Batman, a cloth cape would be nice, maybe they put a rubbery one and pack a cloth cape with it, that would be nice
@@darkman4747 It's got thigh swivel, he just didn't show that off this particular time. I wish Hasbro would do away with thigh cuts (they're so noticeable/breaks up the sculpt & make the figures look more toyish), and just go with the modern NECA, McFarlane, Import style thigh swivel.

Yep, Target had me approve a delay at least 3 times over the last month just to completely cancel it on me a couple days ago. I am pretty sure I pre-ordered it within 2 minutes of when it was listed on their site. This isn't the first time they have done this to me though... If Target can't handle having exclusives they probably shouldn't be given the opportunity to have them.
Mine was cancelled. Not paying aftermarket, if I see it fine but, I’m so sick of Target exclusive cancellations. On a better note gpslot on eBay and others have McFarlane cloth capes that are cheap for your other Batmen.
cloth capes for $20 figures are garbage 99% of the time. Hed have to raise the price for most of them and I doubt people would be cool with that. It makes sense for more expensive exclusive releases like this though.
@@ComicCrossing it depends on the company. I'm not saying every figure with a cape should be cloth. But some characters along with the sculpt and design warrant a cloth cape. For example that MK11 Spawn could've used a cloth cape. The cape it has is cool but the cloth would've set it over the top. Another example is Neca. I think they make pretty good cloth capes. They don't raise the price because of it. Their ultimates are always 30 bucks regardless of cloth cape.
@@souldrum86 naw man it doesn't depend on the company. I have never seen a good cape at the $20 price point regardless of the company. Usually it leads to crap like Mattel would sometimes put on their figures. Like the Dick Grayson Batman. Or the Batfleck ones. Hed probably have to jump up to that $30 price point and it would be a gigantic risk. Cloth capes for "deluxe" releases could be cool, but realistically it's never going to be in their main line.

Mcfarlane can afford to once in a while put a cloth cape on a figure and it be dope. Mattel and hasbro make figures that look 20 bucks or less. And hasbro prices are up regardless. Mcfarlane is on another level.
Reading the comments, it seems McFarlane Toys did not keep up with the demand or Target did not order enough. Either way I am one of MANY people that got their ordered cancelled. I guess they do not want our money as collectors and I am not buying this on the third party market. TOYSHIZ thanks for the upload.
Like alot of us target just decided to cancel our orders without warning. Not too optimistic of finding this in a retail store if the dibacle with target is any indication. If there's gonna be so many out there that we all have a chance to get one, target would've kept our orders or had a reorder that lasted more than 5 secs. As always we all be able count on the scalpers on ebay to jack up the price up to astronomically.

Target really annoyed me with that whole cancellation. I had both versions secured but when they cancelled then I was only able to get the regular version again. I heard the signed ones will not be in stores so I really hope they get some more of the signed versions available online again.

it's crazy I pre ordered this on time , target kept pushing the release date then canceled my order!! then allows other people to order multiple orders only to sell them on eBay for 2x to 3x the original price.. and mcfairlane does nothing, maybe stop target from selling your toys.. my two cents

Must be nice to get one. Like many others, I'm part of the group that Target screwed over. I wrote McFarlane Toys about my cancelled pre-order. Never heard back from them. Target never sent me an email that I could redo my pre-order. McFarlane Toys doesn't care. Target doesn't care. I no longer care of McFarlane Toys. There are other companies that are putting out great DC Comics action figures, who actually fulfill their orders.
I was a huge mattel DC figure fan, and well before that a McFarlane toys Spawn fan - aside from the boot design oversight and painted only glove line (oof), this could be one of the best Batman figures yet. My first and favorite Batman figure of all time was the Kenner Super Powers, and this reminds me so much of it with the cloth cape. I could not get this pre-order in cart day of, and many here that did had their ordered cancelled by target. I will say most recent exclusives on the MOTU Classics side started out rarely seen, and are now fairly easy to obtain. I am hoping this becomes available to all who are looking for him when he is released.

I know part of it is slow shipping and residual issues from Covid, but they stepped with a campaign stating how they will be the premier spot for collectibles and fill the hole Toys R Us left behind, and so far... they failed on this department. Yeah, once in a while I'll find something and they have gotten a little bit better at stocking some exclusives, but the damage was done for some ppl. I know a few who gave up on the NECA TMNT line simply because they couldn't get the figures they wanted because all of them were pretty much Target Exclusive. Hell, I have a better time finding some desired NECA figures at Walmart. Yet, they didn't make claims of being a collector spot. At least G.I.Joe has gotten easier, but still... Redmart sucks. So does Bluemart.

Had mine for two months and only just opened it yesterday. Was fiddling with it and as I tried to take one of the arms off to put the plastic cape back on, it snapped at the bicep. Incredibly bummed out tbh
This cover was my first encounter with Todd's work. I walked into a local comic shop, saw it was on the wall. Wasn't really collecting much, but the cover caught my eye. Didn't buy it. But I found out later what the artists name was. And I was shocked because Todd, Todd, Todd, Todd Todd, Todd. Like me was an artist. I’m not a fan of the blue and light gray Batman suits but this figure pulls it off really good, and even with the cloth cape it looks way better than I expected.

I enjoy mine but I feel that the pieces are too solid, many of the "points of articulation" feel very tight but it is a fantastic piece to add to the collection
When I first saw this, with the cloth cape - I thought that was the perfect modern version of the Super Powers Batman... however those boots are a deal breaker for me personally... not getting his boots right is a huge oversight.
Looking forward to getting mine. I've ordered 2. In Australia where I live they are going for $70 each. However, not available in stores so got mine thru my Comic on line store.
I didn't much care for either cape in pictures, but I think I'm sold on the cloth cape now. The plastic cape is neat, but I don't think I'd ever use it.

I hope I can get it, I don't like how the abdomen looks like in the Mcfarlane figures (Neca's batman abdomen for the articulation looks way better), but with that plastic cape I don't have to worry about that.
My two were canceled and I was given a $5 gift card. I had to approve probably 5 different date changes but this time there was no approval. Just gone. I am so beyond pissed. I woke up at 5am to order these in September. This also happened to many others and apparently they went right back on sale after the orders got canceled which is the most infuriating part. It's fraudulent as hell. Great review. Fantastic figure. Wondering about the price. I thougt i would not need or want to repeat a figure character yet this one may be worth it.
I like everything except (as usual) the foot peg setup. The left leg which is of course the one you see when the large cape is on doesn’t work for shit. The cape hits in the back making the left leg almost too short to reach the peg and to secure it. I can get it secured but if I even breathe on it, it pops loose.
Finally went ahead and ordered this from an overseas store. Got tired of Target’s shenanigans and Todd washing his hands of the ordeal, bc he doesn’t give a shit why people are having a hard time dealing with Target.
Could you take the Batman 1000 figure, pop the arms and cape off and situate him in the big plastic cape to display a figure in that and the Year 2 in the cloth cape at the same time???
This looks like one hell of an incredible Batman toy. But I've never been a fan of the grey and blue colors. Grey and black absolutely though. I hope they make a grey and black Batman using this exact figure. Because then it would be truly perfect.

I did a quick Photoshop of this figure in Black, and he looks clean as hell... If I was more confident in my painting skills I'd probably order a second one to repaint

I enjoy mine but I feel that the pieces are too solid, many of the "points of articulation" feel very tight but it is a fantastic piece to add to the collection

This is a cool cape. The figure is a nice accessory too.
When I first saw this, with the cloth cape - I thought that was the perfect modern version of the Super Powers Batman... however those boots are a deal breaker for me personally... not getting his boots right is a huge oversight.

I didn't much care for either cape in pictures, but I think I'm sold on the cloth cape now. The plastic cape is neat, but I don't think I'd ever use it.
I love watching your reviews! I was looking forward to this figure until my pre-order got cancelled. If I see it in the wild, I'll pick it up. Until then, I'll just be happy with all my Mezco Batman figures.

Took me a week but finally got one. Had to babysit the GameStop Canada page. Kept saying "out of stock". Finally came up today, ordered it ($69.99 cad. - ETA Dec. 10th) and now says out of stock again. This is going for 2 to 3 hundred on eBay. Nuts.

I hope I can get it, I don't like how the abdomen looks like in the Mcfarlane figures (Neca's batman abdomen for the articulation looks way better), but with that plastic cape I don't have to worry about that.
My two were canceled and I was given a $5 gift card. I had to approve probably 5 different date changes but this time there was no approval. Just gone. I am so beyond pissed. I woke up at 5am to order these in September. This also happened to many others and apparently they went right back on sale after the orders got canceled which is the most infuriating part. It's fraudulent as hell.

I like everything except (as usual) the foot peg setup. The left leg which is of course the one you see when the large cape is on doesn’t work for shit. The cape hits in the back making the left leg almost too short to reach the peg and to secure it. I can get it secured but if I even breathe on it, it pops loose.
Every McFarlane action figure should come with a cloth cape I'm happy

Could you take the Batman 1000 figure, pop the arms and cape off and situate him in the big plastic cape to display a figure in that and the Year 2 in the cloth cape at the same time???

This looks like one hell of an incredible Batman toy. But I've never been a fan of the grey and blue colors. Grey and black absolutely though. I hope they make a grey and black Batman using this exact figure. Because then it would be truly perfect.

Man I'm glad you got this Shiz, I really hope this item comes to me in my hands, after many delays and one target cancelation lol, I do have him on preorder and just can't wait. He looks like the ultimate classic blue and grey version of Batman for me. This and that 3 Jokers Batman are the best in the line up for baseline Batman. Great review Shiz.

I did a quick Photoshop of this figure in Black, and he looks clean as hell... If I was more confident in my painting skills I'd probably order a second one to repaint
