I was listening to this loudly at home when my 8 yr old came about and she stated how sad, (she means emotional, she's eight), this song was. She asked me if I could play more music like this when she's drawing. My 10 year old concurred. That in itself must say a lot to you as an artist. We love it. Keep up the great work.
The new synth engine interface is nice but as far as I can see every other element of this jam is do-able in the OG OP-1. Nice jam though, a good reminder that the the magic isn't in the instrument so much as its operator. Looking forward to your future explorations with this thing.
@@vincentpicpic Nice! I offer OP-1 & OP-Z lessons...it's the same item at the shop, in case you are interested! (In fact, I'll change it now to include OP-1)
The stop-motion is becoming a thing. Looks cool. Nice sound as usual! Anxiously awaiting what else you're gonna do with this inspiration machine. Tomorrow's modern box, as Thom Yorke would say.
I was saving up for an og OP-1 after selling mine a few years ago, guess I'll need to save even more for one of these instead. Sick beat as always brother
my question is can i find the same sounds on the og op-1?? also does OP-1 come with a lot of drums?? beat is fire i only use Fl Studio!! would this be compatible and all?? thanks a million
The OG OP-1 is more limited and sounds more LoFi...also coming from FL, the OP-1 will seem very limited (a word of caution). Maybe also take a look at the OP-Z, or even just the PO-33...lots of fun for less money
Thanks! In general, a lot of old OP-1 tutorials still apply. Red means recording got some good ones...I got a few. But if you want to get some private lessons, I offer online classes. I do lessons tailored to each students needs. If you are interested, check this: ko-fi.com/sonwu/shop
I messed about with one recently and the big thing I noticed was it’s sounds way better . I have the original op1 and it gets frustrating how bad it sounds . I know people like that cringe bad sounding audio but the original was just annoying sometimes especially when you use effects . This op1 field sounds amazingly cleans but still has the part of the op 1 sound .
Do you still have to disable USB charging to get rid of the noise it was causing when plugged in? Or did they fix that and improve overall sound quality? It's been a long time since I've had an OP-1.
@@tendingtropic7778 No physical connections needed. In the sampling menu, you can select the EAR as audio source. That means everything you are hearing is being sampled. Or you can just lift from tape and drop it in the sampler.
@@magnuseriksson8081 You have different sequencers to work "on the grid". There is a workaround to quantize live playing into them, but in general it's either playing live, or sequencing.
M1 is the standard EQ setting...M2 is the phone effect. The exact setting I can't say, because the frequency doesn't show values...but I may go into it in a future video.

I am very happy to hear that your kids are enjoying my music, it's a great compliment :)
I can FEEL this song. Its so deep and emotional with no lyrics I love it. Please never stop dude this is amazing
Thanks! I am glad you like it
The mixing is great here. You stuffed some elements deep in the mix for good flavor.
Oh thank you! I always consider mixing a weak spot of mine, so I am glad to hear that :)
the lower noise floor makes it much easier I think.
So much heart in this jam / song! Great job! We bobbing our heads with a string attached to our hearts over here!
That's nice to hear :) Thanks!

A lot can be done in the OG, but overall it does feel and sound different.
@@SONWU stereo effects and recording alone brings so much to the table especially when resampling.
I had the original and yes u can do the same stuff in general but the field is just improved in all aspects
what a vibe, i can only dream to be able to make that too one day
HEY, thank you so much!!!

Great stuff, hope you enjoy it!
Nearly exact Chord-Changes can be found in "Samy Deluxe - Weck mich auf" - If someone is digging it :)
Well heard...I was wondering if someone would notice it! I did the first chords and noticed it sounding familiar, and went all in ;)
I was feeling the same and was about commenting that as well lucky I was not the only one ☝️👀

The tune is by Barclay James Harvest called "the Song"
Yup!
Nice. drums they have a great punch also beautiful expressive sound coming from that tiny giant.

Would be awesome if you could compare it track to tack with OP-1. Doesn't sound much different to my ears
Sorry, my OG OP-1 has been sold...couldn't afford to keep it. They do sound very different in person....less grime in the field ;)
Very nice :)
Thank you very much!
Can i just throw this in my truck with my 8x10 and 4x12s or does it need a road case
I would recommend some kind of case...but since it's small, there are many option. Cheap guncase for example
Great jam, dude! Nice one!!!
Thanks man!!!

Will have to test that, but you rarely have to charge this one luckily.
wow, missed the part where you made that outro / bridge starting at 5:00 - how did you make that?
It's not in the video...I just resampled and pitched down by 1 octave ;)
