great video, glad it was a simple fix, gonna have to replace my clutch soon so I'm envious of anyone with small jobs on their projects 😂 as always keep up the good work 👍
Hello! I am facing quite the same problem with the alternator exciter on my 1990 Mk2 GTI 8V Digifant with the CE2 electrics. When I switch ingition on, no battery light is shown. Turn on the car, still no light, but the alternator is not by charging. One I rev it high enough 3-4k rpm, it starts charging up the battery. What I did until now: -refurbished the alternator -new charge relay on the alternator (after refurbishment) -new battery - unplugged the blue wire from the alternator pin (guess it is called D) and placed on the alternator case. In this case, I can see the battery light on the dashboard continuously after ignition is switched on and even after the car os running and proper charging. Any other ideas?
Good spot! Yes it works I think where we’d ran it up a few times while testing different bits I guess there was still some heat in the engine. They came on when we drove it down the track 👍🏻
hi there, i’ve currently swapped my cluster from my 1.6 driver to gti cluster, to try and get some rev gauges, doesn’t seem to of worked, any help? mines as ce2 with 1 plug and so was the gti one.
@@BarnClubCars yeah i’ve check for loose plugs, the tachometer cable draws power, mine came with clock as standard, might be the rev counter on the cluster i got doesn’t work but how would i know without buying another and trying would you know?

When you pulled the carb off the coup. You should have kept pulling parts off and replaced the lot with a nice 3.2 lump 👌 BTW, was that Mrs Barn Clubs feet at 11.00?

Did the Glowplugs light work on the new clocks?

That’s a strange one. As 1.6 drivers run rev counters as standard so it should be wired up for it. Have you checked for a loose plug on your coil?

Might not have been a bad idea. Either that or I just need to bite the bullet and put the g60 in there
