Edge to me was one of the underappreciated and overlooked players in NFL history. He simply just went to work everyday and never complained. I'm glad his play got him into a hall of fame. Another great interview Unc two hall of famers who are having a real conversation that's what it is all about.
Everyone I know in real time said he was one of the best in the league at that time .. he was a beast on madden..him Payton and thar offense I'm putting 40 on you every time
He is! When it comes to greatest running backs, he is definitely underrated. If you combine his hands and pure running ability he is definitely top 10 and top 5 in my lifetime
Edge is an amazing, humble, and really wise human being. Loves his children. He's also one of the very best running backs in the history of the NFL. Respect.
Edge was "open up the dictionary and look up the word real and there's a picture of him." Big shoutout to the Colts for giving him a ring even though he departed the team the year before, because he helped rebuild them into a winner👍👍 Always 100% authentic. Love that Trick Daddy always had a spot for him on his videos
Thanks Unc Shay for the Edge interview. Being born and raised in Indiana, Edge will always hold a special place in my sports heart as a Colt and one of my favorite athletes in general.
I just like how Mr. Sharp finds the legends that we no longer hear about or never was much in the spotlight off the field or court. You just hear about them when they are deceased like Elgin Baylor, Lusia Harris, etc. I just really enjoy an athletes views.
Edge being from Indy I truly appreciate you and what you stand for to be able to go see you play and realize that you come from similar circumstances as some of the youth in the inner city of Indianapolis was a really special time for this city. You are still my favorite RB. Thanks for being you.
What Edge said is totally true, when you are great in high school and go to college the pool of players are just as good as you. Now once you get in the professional ranks the elites are even fewer, my hats off to Edge , and much congratulations for everything you've accomplished.
What a man!!! Every coach in the USA no matter the sport should show this to their kids. Stay out of trouble and don’t disrespect your family or your own name acting a fool.
Love this guy. His attitude towards the profession and work in general. It’s the American dream. Work hard, study and you will see success. I love it .
Solid interview Shay. I didn’t get to see EJ personality off the field because he wasn’t out front through the media but he was definitely about his business on the field. The hard work paid off. Job well done gentlemen.
I appreciate this interview bc of the fact that I didn’t know who this guy was until shay shay shinned the light 💡 on what he’s accomplished. Good job 👏🏾 shay shay
I never realized how fantastic journalist, interviewer, and host Shannon is until I watched Shay Shay. Also a forever shout out to Edge cause I’m from Indy but not a Colts fan. I’ve always cheered for The Edge
I'm from there as well. But I am a Colts fan. I worked security for the games back when we had the squad. He was one of the nicest guys in real life as well
Man this is a great interview with a great man and player for both the Colts and the Cardinals. This may happen more often and we as media watchers understand but it’s great to see that Joe and E. James had a camaraderie and sharing and understanding of that giving back principal that many may not realize happens. I hope that Joseph is doing just as well as Edge is.
I've always been a huge fan of edgren. But this is the first interview ever really saw him talk that deeply about his life. And what a great man he is. This is one of my most favorite interviews of an athlete I have ever seen in my life. Love this man!
Listen, I've never seen Edgerrin speak and he was my favorite player growing up. I am even more inspired by how he kept true to himself and didn't have to pretend to be someone he wasn't. He's now in the HOF. Perfect example of "Be You"
So much respect for the Edge/ Edgerrin James from Pittsburgh. We know the value of player health and shelf life and this man was a great back and decent pass blocker, receiver and a complete beast every snap. Part of that colts dynasty with multiple HOF guy's
WOW!!! This was an amazing interview. I would buy my children his book, he seems like a really decent man and good role model for children and adults. All praise to YAHUAH!
I remember seeing James play for the U just before I went to work at McAuther Dairy. I got to work & tried to say his name but I kept messing it up, but I told everybody he plays for Miami and you got to see him cuz he's different. I was so serious that the next weekend guys started talking about him. All I could say was this guy was different. He would snatch the ball from the QB & punish guys. I'm glad I got to see him play on tv.
I just read Edgerrin James book and it is very informative. He was not only a great football player but he talks about handling your finances as well. He had a plan from the beginning and made it work. Great book!
This was the interview we never knew we needed. My brother was a big fan of Edge. . .I just loved his name. This interview makes me a big fan of him as a man. 🙏🏾🙏🏾 Now I just have to go back and watch his film to get an appreciation for him as a player. 💯
These 2 men show, you can be good on tha field n off it as well.. Love tha way they drop that knowledge tha way they do, they speak what they know fr Much respect to both HOF legends 💯👏🏽🏈👏🏽 To everyone everywhere, stay safe stay blessed 🙏🏽
This and the Mark Jackson interview are the 2 best interviews. I had a new found respect for Edge after his Hall of fame speech and even more respect after this interview. I respect what he stands for. On and off the field.
He was leading the NFL in rushing 2001 ,the Chiefs hurt him. Had not him being hurt, he would easily be top 5! Edge was a MONSTER, led the league his first 2yrs in the league going for 3yrs until injury. It took Edge a year and a half to get right. Medicine back then is not like today. Back then a torn ACL, OR MCL could potentially end your career.
Just when I think I’ve seen the great interview this is my favorite interview. This guy gets it. He needs to teach his way of thinking to the younger generation. I have an 18 year old grandson that’s playing highschool football and I would love it for him to go to the school of Edgerrin James. Actually I’m going contact him so we can have our bonding time and iwant to watch this with him. He had an ACl tear and was out for a year. This podcast is going to help him out a lot. Thanks for another great interview Shannon. Thanks Edgerrin for the great man that you are.
congratulations well done, deserved, Hall of Famer, he was one of the best players, nfl running backs of all time , need more players like him , in the future
Man. Childhood icon. Being from Indiana my family loved those colts. Great show. Awesome peice of content! I wish you guys would go deeper into his training process as well as his financial wisdom. You guys moved through a lot of different topics briefly! Loved this
I appreciate seeing brothers who are doing good, mentally & financially, after NFL/ boxing careers 💪🏾🙏🏾.
Shannon Sharpe is a great interviewer because he lets the guest talk and ask great questions hes really grown in his years on Tv

As a Cards fan, he 100% help us in that run to the SB that year.
@Cobra Denn - I know right.
@Cobra Denn is he talked about as one of the best running backs to ever play the game? No he's not. That's why I said what I said.

He’s one of the few where his personality and demeanor matches his talent

The Edgerrin James for Marshall Falk deal was one of THE ONLY NFL trades that REALLY worked out for both teams that I can remember
Portis for champ Bailey is one as well
It worked out better for the Rams
Mike Vick for LT
They both got a Gold Jacket out of the deal!
