That’s funny recounting the tale as an adult but as a child that really would’ve sucked, ESPECIALLY given that it’s already difficult for many people in Japan to make new long-term friends.
Honestly though, it sounds kinda pathetic to stop your daughter to play with a boy in Kindergarten, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If you keep Tabs on who your daughter is running around with when she is hitting puberty and discovering her sexuality, thats one thing. You want to protect her from being abused and prevent an early "accident" happening. But trying to end a friendship between 3-5 year olds? Jesus.

Earlier she mentioned that she was called a "man chaser" if she hung out with guys as she grew older, so she eventually distanced herself from them to avoid it. And now she mentions that her dad basically threatened any boy who hung out with her as a kid. (Though, from what she mentioned earlier, she still managed to have a few guy friends until the name calling)

For some context: 5 of the pizzeria-girls went to Disney and had some drinks/food. IIRC. Aria-chan, Tooko-chan, Meloco and Reimu were with her. A few hours after this, Maitake showed up and Arusan invited him to Disney. Not sure if they were just doing a bit, tho. He also invited him for takoyaki afterwards. lmao.

Aruran has a very "interview" style. Great for drawing out stories from people and keeping the conversation moving.
There's a reason why he and Roberu are the go-tos that get shipped out to do interviews, segments on morning talk shows, etc. The ability to talk to anybody is rare and valuable in an industry that attracts people who would otherwise be content as social recluses
When she debuted, I had no idea Ao-kun would turn out to be the biggest gremlin in her gen. She totally gives off "cool beauty" based on her design.
...now that I say this, I realize that most of my favorite Holomem (Calli, Flare, and Kaela, in particular) are similar ("cool beauty" vibe, but actually a total goofball).

Here I realized that unlike Yuu Kashima, who has Mikorin, Ao doesn't seem to have a male friend that close. And as I took in what she said about her father, I remembered how Kobo treats Altare as an older brother figure, though I should note that as far as I've learned, the struggle Kobo has with her actual older brother is his neurodivergence getting in the way rather than something like Papa-kuyu being overprotective. Anyway, even with Aruran having this younger form, he is still very dad, and for that as well, I am very glad.
