Queen of the Damned - The Ancients at the Hollywood Sign (Deleted scene IX)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 бер 2011
- Additional scene 09. The Ancients storyline was reduced during the course of production because the filmmakers felt that there were too many conflicting vampire agendas in the movie. In the final cut of the film, the Ancients are more in the background, and simply serve as allies of Maharet and Marius.

This scene seems extremely crucial to cementing a historical plot of the vampires, the fact they took it out is a right damn shame.
I agreed
It certainly would have made the final fight a little fuller and meaningful people if they knew the names of these ancient vampires fighting. Yeah, we know Maharet is old, but if the watcher knew that there was Caanan and Pandora there...
I can never forgive this movie for what they did to the Ancients, especially Pandora. =(
And Khayman! And Mael! And... and....
ARMAND! My Beautiful Armand!
Ikr Pandora was gorgeous 🥺✨ literally on Akasha’s level of beauty. She didn’t deserve to go out like that 🤦🏾♀️
Glad I'm not the only one. And dont forget the other sister that didn't exist in the movie
And Maharet with black hair. lol
same
The look that Marius gave Pandora when she was giving him shit about their past was the best.
I agree with you
Ah, Men! 🤨🤨🤨
They had a falling out of the Ages
The filmmakers were short sighted, and had no vision. Part of the mystique of the book WAS the differing agendas, and the reasoning behind all of the motivations of the ancients. Khayman, Lestat, Mael, Marius, Pandora, Maharet, etc....each ones story was integral to the telling of the whole story. That is the reason the books jumps through time....to use those motivations to show the disdain, and Hatred that most of them carried for Akasha.
I hope the TV show does a better job when inevitably we meet the Ancients.
@@bartolomeestebanmurillo4459 they won't, they'll fuck it up just like everything else they touch! And with Anne dead now, she can't object!
@@speedracer3967considering that she basically renounced her books not long before she left us, I sadly doubt it(
It is really ironic that the producers deleted the best scenes in the film. No wonder the movie all edited and cut out to be a mess, if they remove the best parts.
Exactly they really need to make the rest of the saga instead of all the other crap Hollywood makes if they can do star wars they can do the vampire chronicles The ancients are what made the books it’s also a shame the vampire lestat never got a movie and they jumped to the third book
@Marty gle Wasn't supposed to turn to stone but for this movie, sure. Turn to stone.
This movie desperately needs a director's cut
Which pisses me off they should've put in movie unbelievable
I remember reading all these amazing books years ago, and Marius is always my favorite. I love the actor they chose to portray him.
I agreed
Me 2.perfect actor to portray Marius
But why they didn’t give him the blonde hair ?
Marius is a really good character he and lestat are my favorites
@@ziyinzhengcountlagatto5998 why did they give lestat blonde hair
“Felt there was too many conflicting vampire agendas...” because god forbid they make a story about immortal beings and some of them having different ideas than the rest
The closest we get to a character looking and acting like one of the most loved characters, Armand, and he gets like two lines that weren't even in the movie.
All I could think in this scene is wow Armand actually got lines in the movie.
+AnimatorNinja Armand is supposed to be angelic - this one's pudgy, but at least not a grown man like as in Interview ...
He has the cherubic looks he's supposed to have... in the portly way they're drawn in tacky over sweet representations dripping of pinks and bad taste. The true Armand looked like a Renaissance Angel not a fat Disney knockoff.
The only thing he says in the cut we got was "I will not"
@@fangbanger3556 probably because his character had such a small part, they didn’t cast their net wider than Australia for the roles and hired Matt Newton. He probably would have been pushing his mid to late 20s in this movie.
They should re-release with ALL deleted scenes included, it would have made the movie sooooo much better.
And about 4 hours long
@@amandawolfstar1982so?
that would be like putting all the deleted scenes in the hobbit and lord of rings trilogies they would never need
"You turn away from me Kayman. Are you so shy?"
Kayman: yyyeeaah, figured you'd still be mad about what happened last time."
Maharet: That whole raping me, tearing out my eyes, and ripping out my sister's tongue? Water off a duck's back.
Yes because of the king s decree kayhman became the father of maharet s daughter Miriam....
@@NateSean The whole rape probably isn't something he is proud of.
@@TheElochai From what I've read; he hated and felt bad to do this, but he felt he was obligated to because the Queen, Akasha ordered him to.
@@alexandresaoghal1761 My point exactly. Did he know one became pregnant?
So, they trimmed this scene, which was halfway decent, because they felt there were "too many conflicting vampire agendas." That was what made the book so interesting. They cut all the scenes that would've made this film semi-watchable, ffs.
The movie was a long ass Korn Music Video, are you really surprised?
the way they portray kayman in this scene is wrong, this looks more like it would be mael. mael is the druid dressed in white robes with blonde hair and kayman is supposed to be egyptian!
Excellent point. The film was poorly cast, rushed & rubbish.
Blonde is always better
And his tongue was sheared off under the order of Enkil, back when he was still a mortal, right? So not even supposed to talk. Even Armand doesnt sit right with me.
@@stranger2two Mekare got her tongue cut off not Khayman
I was thinking the same thing!!!
They made Marius into a sniveling pompous dork in this. He was as mighty as any of the ancient ones in the books. His book in the series is absolutely fantastic imho. It really gives a solid background into his beginnings and his relationships with others like him.
I'm so pissed that almost all of the deleted scenes have Armand in them. =_=
hi baby
The Casual fan who saw Interview with the Vampire but never read any of the books would have no idea that was even him.
@@darrenfreyauthor Armand is closer in age and look to the kid in the Paris theater that they were all feeding upon. Armand in this film was a lot closer to the books. Banderas...well, I was surprised they took that route, really. They found a badass in Kirsten Dunst to act so adult at so young an age. I'm sure they could have found a worthy Armand.
@@thedevilsstoryteller3946 I don't blame Antonio Banderas for taking the role. He was miscast but for what it was, he was still amazing in the film. The same goes for Tom Cruise. But of course, Kirsten Dunst was amazing like you said and Brad Pitt did really well also.
Agreed!
The "How dare you talk about our queen this way!?" Line is so out of place... Marius never showed Armand those who must be kept...
Yeah, well, the conveniently leave out the bit about Pandora and Marius being married lovers for a century, so...
They're all out of place and he just figured it out.
Uh, he would have been connected to them by blood. Keep in mind when Lestat bit Akasha - Marius felt it and the others would have too.
Exactly, good point.
None of the ancients gathered there would have said it
They should have left it all in. Someone should post another stitched-together version with all the missing scenes, even if it only stays up for a day or two.
I love how I didn't even know that was supposed to be armand when I watched the movie for the first time. Great character introduction guys...
Marius and maharet deserve there own movie
This scene should have been in the movie, not deleted. 🙄
They're not the enemies of Lestat, its interesting...
The Ancients are about to bring down their collective immortal hammer! Too bad their emphasis got so decreased in the films. Such good stuff!
they totally changed the personalities of the Ancients, except perhaps for Armand. Khayman was a friendly vampire, not the oaf-looking one in this segment.
It doesn't sound like Marius is saying "Armand". It sounds more like, "Arma???" And Armand floats down like, "What up, bitches? ...It's Amadeo in da house! Wut wut?"
I think the show was great 👌😊😊😊 I really love the rock and roll it was so beautiful ❤️❤️ always ❣️❣️❣️ I love Aaliyah she was great to see and sturt was good to
Love that movie so much 😍😍❤️♥️💙♥️❤️😭💙😍💙😍 beautiful actors and actresses good job
That’s actually how it’s pronounced. The nd is silent.
I wish that they would have kept this in the movie, it keeps the viewers up to beat. Not only that, but give the quieter ancient vampire like Khayman and Mael more speech time that they deserve. At least giving all of the Ancient vampires more screen time that all of them deserve. Even though it's kind based off of Akasha and Lestat, but though I have not read the book(s), I'll admit it, but watching a lot of being vs being, there's a lot on Akasha, but at least show more on the Ancients
I wish that as well
I was pissed that they cut out the ancients scenes when the title clearly states QUEEN OF THE DAMNED the could have at least shown how she became a Vampire......
i really enjoyed this film... i absolutely love the books. The Vampire Lestat blew my mind when i first read it.... it made me realize that Louie was just a wuss lol. They could have kept the ancient's storyline/scenes in the film.... because as we all know... when a greater threat than you're agenda threatens all... these agendas can be pushed aside for the greater good. I think it actually hurts the film taking these scenes out. But i still love the film... even though they tried to combine The Vampire Lestat with The Queen of the Damned and lost a lot of the details in the process.
Same
It's a dumbed-down adaptation only made to keep the rights. They made Lestat completely uninteresting and clichéd, they butchered all the other ancients, they didn't do any of the main themes justice.
I still prefer the first book to the others, but they did butcher two books in one with this abomination.
Lol at Armand bad mouthing Kaman.
As if K'ster couldn't rip him limb from limb if he wanted to
ikr
i miss Louis in the movie. but I love this movie. never gets old for me.
I just wish Gabrielle would have made it through.
Yes
would've been nice if they had kept this scene, so that people who hadn't read the book would've known who these vampires were...
This would have been a helpful exposition scene to explain the story. Way to blow it Editors.
Armand doesn't look too bad, but he was only supposed to be 17 years old, and far more...well, beautiful looking. Pandora looks alright too, though why do the ancients look so old? That's far from what they're supposed to look like.
In French sometimes the final letter is silent. The actor who plays Marius is fluent in French, and the name "Armand" is sometimes pronounced "Arman." If you listen really carefully you can hear the "n" sound when his name is pronounced. I love Armand! He's the character you love to hate!
I don't know why they prounounce it as if he's french. If I recall, He's russian or eastern european, at least
Armand's name was given to him by the Children of Satan. It's not his birth name which is why it's pronounced the French way.@@kaneanderson8626
I love Marius so much
Same
Ok because he is so cute and sexy love him so much
I love my Marius eternal
Marius😍
This should have never been deleted from the film! Instead of showing the ancients they just randomly have them show up at the concert making unknowing movie watchers not even know who they are if they never read the books -.-
I was one, kinda still am lol have to read the books
I love this movie, but they get so much that is essential in the book wrong. Marius and Lestat are blonde and Pandora is Roman.
illanna christanos same I love movie as well
illanna christanos Marius is also Roman in addition to being a blonde... I’ve read the book
Pandora lived in india as a goddess of death! Interesting how they did this movie though the characters were mashed up of the originals! Wish Makare showed up in the end and choped off the queens head eating her heart and brain with her twin sister maharet!
Well they also have Marius making Lestat and in the books if I recall its Magnus that made Lestat, explained some of the basics and then threw himself into a fire.
He's half Roman and half Gaul. His mother was a slave from Gaul. He was blonde. Pandora traveled the world, but I believe she was with a vampire who held her captive or was in a really bad relationship with her and wouldn't let her leave and he is/was from where she's dressed in this movie.
But I like Marius as he is in the movie. Everyone doesn't have to be blonde (or a red head) :(
Louis and Gabrielle are just chilling behind the scenes.
zed zeddicus zu'l zorander!!!!! man he's been in a lot of movies.
I know this is a year old but I just have to say you made me happy.
Reading that name I had a flashback 😃 Thank you, you made me happy as well 😊
armand was a 17 yearold boy when he was turned.he is just extremely beautiful looking.back in those days boys were dressed to look a little femine and be pretty like girls.read any of the books and they will tell you armand was a boy in fact read the vampire armand.very awesome book btw :)
Exactly... and this Armand doesn't look "angelic" to me... 😟 Frankly, they all look dead to me. Well, except Maharet. The make up on her doesn't look so bad. But the others! They have such big black bags under the eyes as if they hadn't slept in a long time or if somebody had hit them!
@@askaks1454 they're supposed to look dead because they are
@@slickchick5811 Hahahaha! Good one!
RIP Anne Rice, the true Queen of the Damned.
When Khaymen looks away from Maharet actually kind of hints at what happened between them in the books
He was forced to rape Maharet and Mekare by the king and queen.
@@sabrinazakrowski1399 exactly my point, didn't one of them have a child by him?
@@misssakura098 yes, it was Maharet that got pregnant and she bore a daughter by him
Why does Pandora talk about Marius' children when she is one?
I HATED the way they portrayed the old ones in this film.
Claudia Black was exactly what I pictured as Pandora, just slightly younger. And this Armad is MUUUUUUUUCH better than IWtV.
So all of y'all haters 💀 💀 need to get a hold of your self ok
Why they cut this scene!?!?!?
It's so majestic!
Pandora is like the best female Vampire in The Vampire Chronicles series! :D
Love Claudia Black, who went on to star in "Farscape" and last few seasons of "Stargate: SG1".
Need Gabrielle
how appropriate! @0:33 she's doing one of the Freemason hang sign.
2023: канон Армана всё ещё на дне
Эта версия имеет своё очарование, актёр старался
I read the books, and I had no idea who they were. It wasn't til I saw the casting credits...
Too many conflicting agendas? Nolan has like 12 going on at the same time in all his movies
This is my favourite movie, but having read the books, I am really displeased with the movies.
Mine too
Wow these producer's messed up all the deleted scenes filled in a big part and how dare these vamps talk to Maharet that way she was a psychic/witch before Akasha was a mother to all of them
I really wish they give this book series a tv show
I wish they kept that scene i like to see other vampires than just Lestat.
Khayman looks like a druid than ancient Egyptian.. and Pandora like Indian instead of Ancient Roman. Arman should be red haired cherub, and Maharet, Red haired queenly. This movie needs to be remade, with Mekare.. and the consumption of brain and heart of Akasha.
it was akasha sheturned enkil then she turned khaymen who turned mekare who was mahrets twin who turned maharet so basically besides akasha and enkil khaymen is the next oldest then maharet.
ashley streck thanks for the info
I think marius is probably the strongest he has quite a few vampire powers
They should have left the scenes they deleted in the film this one adds a lot to the movie plot
They should release a director's or extended cut of the movie. It's about time.
THE WORLD WE KNOW IS ABOUT TO END...
blood and gold pages cry of how far the adaptations have gone from the story of the stoic keeper of those who must be kept...
I played this over and over five years ago, returned to my hometown of Hollywood, Cal and Harvey Weinstein was immediately put under INVESTIGATION...what a COINCIDENCE!
this movie screams messages.
I know this is an old video but that's why Pandora's voice is so familiar. She's also the voice actress of Morrigan in Dragon Age
This should've been in the movie...
Actually @Calucifer13, Khayman is the oldest. He is nearly 6,000 years old. After Akasha dies, he remains the oldest and most powerful.
Maharet and Mekare are from the same time as Khayman, all alive during the original reign of Akasha and Enkil, and were the first 3 people turned after the king and queen.
why did they delete so many good scenes from this movie
I wish they would make movies like this.
Yeah they shouldn't have cut out this scene.
It would had offered a bit of a better context.
I also do enjoy a bit of the banter they were having with each other too.
Compared to Interview with a Vampire, Queen of the Damned is quite literally shit. The only actor / actress that was actually worth something in this film was the one who played Akasha other than that it was just another epic book Hollywood has fucked up in their long line of fuck ups.
Preach!
Just too much story for one film. They would have to do it like the Harry Potter franchise and have multiple films or better yet a series with like 5 seasons
In order to have done Queen of the Damned justice and make it work, it would have to not be a film. The only way to make it work, due to the multiple storylines is to do it as a miniseries.
I love Khayman. I would do, literally, ANYTHING to him! Anything he wants.
because she is, technically. she is one of the rare cases that she died, and then come back to earth remembering her past life as a vampire.
This scene would have helped the movie greatly if it had been included. The movie was made much less than it could have been due to the filmmakers removing the main thread in the whole storyline which this scene encompasses.
I would have loved this version
While yes Marius did in fact turn Pandora into a vampire she is not his child in the sense that Armand and Bianca are because Pandora and Marius knew each other in mortal life so the 2 of them along with Mael are virtually the same age they just went in very different paths as immortals.
A new casting/performance Eva Green as Pandora
Kate Beckinsale as Maharett/Mekare
Liam Neson as Mael...
I didn’t even know their names for the longest time. I had no idea that was Armand. He was so miscast in interview, and I hadn’t read any of the books at that point.
They didnt look like characters at all. They forget all of anne rices story. Ancients are supposed to be beautiful. All actors were not a sight yo be seen sorry but true. Vampires wete chosen by beauty.
It is a good thing that they cut this out
Why was this cut? I was so intrigued by Pandora
This is a good scene
You can hate the movie because of the lack of comparison to the books... But you can't deny this is one of the 5 best vampire movies so far
Where are Eric, Santino and Gabrielle ?
leo jones and Louis
@@ohsuzeyq_ Mekare
OhSuzeyQ wait wasn’t Louis lestats lover?
The movie ended up being bad. It could have been so much better HAD it not reduced the role of the ancients
wasn't Lestat made by Magnus
Yes, he was, but Magnus killed himself shortly after.Later Marius found Lestat and teached him the ways of the vampire. So,I think (I hope) buy errant child they meant that Marius "adopted" Lestat as a fledling.
i guess i didn't read that far in the book sorry
Sandy Silva Well, then sorry for the spoilers. :D
Sandy Silva Yes he was. Lestat was made by Magnus.. THey just screwed up everything in the movie. Armand is a teenager with an angelic face and long brown hair. Marius is taller and has long blonde hair. I portrayed Khayman very different. Everything about this movie makes me angry haha. Read the books, at least the two after Interview With The Vampire.
+Sandy Silva In the books yes...But in this movie, they chose to make Marius Lestat´s maker.
I think I could have based this movie off Twilight and never even read The Queen of the Damned and made this movie more accurate. WHAT. A. JOKE of a movie.
U probably could have been more accurate than the movie if you based it on hotel Transylvania
I agree with you but it was a good movie. Everyone was excellent, especially Aliyah. She was an angel, no one can replace her especially someone who thinks she’s the bomb.
Lena Olin. I actually like her for the role, but they fucked up the hair is supposed to be RED !
Wow i nearly watched this again, id forgotten just how bad it really was. Never imagined it would top interview, but amazing to think all that source material and they couldnt even manage anything remotely watchable.
While I like the movie it lacked and faltered in so many ways the vampire chronicles could be such a huge movie franchise if done correctly it's disappointing it most likely will never happen.. I recommend to so many read the books there so incredibly well written with such a philosophical stand point from so many characters had Anne rice lives a bit longer I believe she would have written one more book in the chronicles
I feel like they should have this scene.
I agree
I like when Khayman sees Maharet he turns his head cause what happen back then..
And in most parts in the movie. She died in a plane crash after a few full takes.
Ahhh,Marius lovers, Pendora & Arma
Please upload the Full Movie
Ahh Armand was 1 of my Fav.! Hahha he sounds bitter but not as much as Pandora!
Did they ever include/film a scene with Baby Jenks and the Fang Gang?
Compared to the books this movie was a fail. If this were a vampire flick not based on Anne Rice's book it would have been all right but this is not The Queen Of The Damned by Anne Rice.
If they have the foresight, they could have made a series of this like what marvel universe did.
Exactly! Where is she?! And Louis! And Gabrielle! >_<
@younginbx He said "You sound so bitter" lol i couldent hear it eather untill i turned up the sound XD
Is there a Directors Cut??? There needs to be one!!!
